Think the phrase above about being Oyston-esque is very apt on this. Outrageous to do it but in this owners case not wholly surprising.

Referring it to GMP is pointless anyway as these are not subject to banning orders and I hope all other L2 clubs tell Oldham to go take a run and jump with their bans when it comes to them attending away games. Just wish Oldham fans all the best getting rid of this parasite before it’s too late.

How is the local press reacting?
They are in a difficult position: - if they offer publicity to this ban they could also get a banning order. But a free press is expected to publicize both sides of the argument.
I suspect that this banning order will receive greater publicity outside the Oldham area where the club has no influence. The local press will probably get their mates in Greater Manchester to run an open press campaign.

This will backfire very badly on the owners of OAFC, and may lead to even more action being taken against them. How short sighted of them, and indicative of people who don't understand football at all.

I'm sure I speak for supporters of all the other L2 teams in wishing Oldham all the very best in getting rid of these horrible people, who should never have been allowed in in the first place.

If you all pull together, you can and hopefully will triumph against them, as we did at Rochdale during the Summer.

Good luck from 6 miles away... Rivals but united against unwanted owners.

Reading the comments from Oldham loyalists it seems apparent that the owners would not be unhappy if club were liquidated as they could make a fortune by selling the land.

Here`s hopng that those banned supporters are made welcome by the fans of every club they wish to visit during this , what I consider to be, illegal ban. if only to show the rest of the division distaste for this dreadful regime.

After writing above post I checked the local Oldham Press and read most damning rebuttal
The point about GDPR could be a very strong card. The fine for breaches are eye-wateringly high. If the club are not worried about this, they should be. Without the legal Court Order I don’t see how they can inform other clubs without being in breach. Might be worth the supporters groups getting in touch with the ICO for advice.

As interviews go that was up there with some of those from that tit who sent Bury under. Not really sure what other words could be used.

it’s embarrassing.

Yet what are the EFL doing about it, oh yeah fuck all.

What did they do to help bury, macclesfield? oldham?

The first and most immediate “fit and proper test” should be on the board of the EFL, they’re a fucking shambles.

Whereas we’re all rivals, but also friends in this league, all genuine fans should stand shoulder to shoulder with oldham here

Disgraceful that this saga has been allowed to play out for so long. Lemsagam's a different sort of unfit owner to Steve Dale, a bit more sophisticated in his tyranny in some ways (though to be fair being more sophisticated than Steve "grizzly bear" Dale is hardly saying much). But at least as every bit as unfit, slowly, rather than rapidly, destroying a long established club front of its fans and anyone else watching what is happening there.

Yet another club a stone's throw from Manchester being fucked over while the great and the good of football and the media watch and pour their millions into their toy club with no fans down the road.

Just hope you guys can hurry up and finally get shot of the Lemsagams (even if they aren't the only problem you have off the pitch), and that somehow your prowess on the pitch (which IS there, despite everything) save you from going down.

As for whose interests the EFL operate in: fuck knows

It happened with ourselves from June 2014 - June 2017, when the morons we had running us for those 3 years in a similar fashion to how Oldham are being run now, took us from League One to Non League in just 3 seasons.

We only just avoided total destruction. Power is still trying it on now. Another court case on 12 Jan as he reckons he’s owed a ‘deposit’ from his mythical Able company.

Oh, and our vice chairman was beaten up on his doorstep in front of his children. Of course, any connection with Lee Power is entirely coincidental.

Bans rescinded, though the tone in the statement once again highlights the arrogance of these people. ‘We can’t really tell you what it is that you did wrong but, err, here’s a final written warning and, err, don’t do it again’.
I wonder if the Talksport interview had anything to do with it. As I doubt the “guilty” 3 are precisely aware of what they did that was so wrong compared to all the other protesting fans, I assume they will accidentally or deliberately do it again.

I may be wrong but my interpretation of that Talksport interview with the owner was that that offence was not so much criticism of the club, but criticism of the owner.

Hope.

Latics may be a football club worth supporting again at some point.

We’ve won the battle he’s selling up in talks with potential buyers Probably to late to save us from the drop this year but today could be the best day I’ve had as an oldham fan in a long time

Hopefully for Oldham he actually means what he says. Remember these sort of statements from Smurthwaite or his personal favourite of an investor in Hong Kong lined up which never came to pass. Fingers crossed for Oldham though and this is where the pressure needs to be kept up on him.

Wasnt there also the Norwegians? Always turned out "They didnt have the best interests of the club" and the usual.

Hopefully Oldham break free and can recover, better times can happen as we can testify if the right people come along.

Despite our Owner coming out and saying the same things it's hardly changed our fans opinion of him. Is there anyone in Oldham or thereabouts we know of interest?

Apparently the Lemsagem’s have been sent threatening letters with bullets. Very nasty, but being a bit cynical I wouldn’t put it past them arranging it themselves.
