Another soft one. If Grealish stays on his feet then he gets taken out. Another example of the referee not understanding football.

This is quite small time for Villa.

What is up with Jack Grealish's haircut? Looks like Damo from Father Ted:

Fucking ridiculous.

As are the Villa fans in that corner.

The fourth official should have just told the ref to abandon the game. He ruined it with that red anyway.

Can't understand the BBCs reaction to the pitch invasion.

Camera on Sherwood "Just look at his face, the fans have ruined his day" I genuinely don't think Sherwood gives a flying fuck.

Stupid time to play the game. Local derby. FA Cup quarter final. Saturday evening at 5:30....

Brilliant decision by the FA to allow the fans to get tanked up all afternoon before going to a derby game that is so emotionally overcharged...

A pitch invasion has its place. During a match is not that place. I would also suggest that a Premier League club winning a quarter final int that place either.

Its all a little pathetic.

Don't mind so much the pitch invasion after the game, although you can tell the players didn't really appreciate it. But to do it after a goal, and 3 minutes before the end of the game? Pathetic. Some of the villa fans looked completely fucked too.

Players don't appreciate it? Delph was dancing with them.

Jeez a pitch invasion and people treat it as the end of the world.

I think people just object to people invading the pitch whilst the game is still in progress. I'm just guessing here though.

22 goals all season. In a complete relegation battle. Nothing but shit since Martin O'Neill left (nearly 5 fucking years ago). Winning against your rivals to book a place at Wembley. Now two games off possibly winning the biggest cup competition in England. Today was only our 10th win of the season.

I think if all of that accumulated for Man Ufuckingnited, the biggest club in the country, they'd be invading the pitch too.

Just for the record, I'm not disputing that running on the pitch during the match is wrong.

Don't see what's wrong with a pitch invasion - it's called 'magical' if it's in the lower divisions, but the snobbish Premier League suddenly think it's abhorrent! Not during the match obviously, but let the fans celebrate!

I don't see much wrong with a pitch invasion either Jay. But after the final whistle.

Some people seem to be missing the point here.

Stan Collymore is such a twat, after we won a cup 1/4 final and invaded the pitch he called for the semi to be played behind closed doors. Villa win a cup 1/4 final and invade the pitch and he's falling over himself to praise the show of passion in the modern game.

For my own perspective living, working and being amongst Villa fans every day they've had a relatively shit time lately, a cup win against a local rival and the chance to go to Wembley again is excuse enough to have a pitch invasion. Nice to see good friends having their pictures with their kids on the pitch etc, good to see.

Hope they get bummed at Wembley though obvs ;)

And yet several hundred Villa thought during the match was appropriate. I trust that when we get beat tomorrow we can run on the pitch cos we're in Division 2 against a top division team and got to 3 matches away from winning a cup?

Im not a snob, nor I am the premier league. And I think a few hundred wankers running on the pithc during a football match is pathetic.

No one is saying that running on during the match is justified, however there is nothing wrong with the one after the match.

You're quite welcome to, but generally losing isn't something to celebrate.

It was pathetic, and the other 39,500 fans at Villa Park booing them pretty much told them that..it was wrong and stupid, but running on the pitch at the end was fine, it was emotional and a show of passion, after months and months of undesirable, boring, soul less and passionless football..

On the contrary Jase, several people are saying it was fine to go on.

The same people preumably who saw fit to try and rob your captains boots, take his armband, and one wanker allegedly bit him (so he appears to have said - but I havnt heard the interview myself so stand corrected quite easily.

We looked like uninhibited, exciting fans. We thought it was all over... Then it was. All that happened was Lawrenson had a Heysel flashback, live on BBC and filled his incontinence pant, while having an old lady moan with Jonathan Pierce... another verbal diarrhoea pusher....

As for Delph, he looked pretty happy bring mobbed by fans! I did read his interview though and can see his concerns that it was scary..

There's idiots and wankers everywhere. The people who do that come under this category, however the majority out there were there to celebrate. I'm not here to make excuses for these knobs, and I'm sure no one else is. There were 42,000 people there today, of which I assume 4,200 would be baggies fans, so take that down to 37,800 fans, of those, say there were 400 knobheads, at a push, leaving 37,400 most likely decent Villa fans there today.
