I'm glad you're happy, we think it's a load of shite.
Hahaha.

I’m not surprised, I’d feel the same in your boat as both teams are miles away at a game and you’d start as massive underdogs. But for us it’d be at home to a team in the league below, and the potential of St Donald returning to the Abbey.

Should we get through Shrewsbury on a cold Tuesday night in front of 4,000, we get to play Mansfield on a cold Saturday in front of 6,000. Magic of the cup.

There’s no way I’m going to it either way, already regretted paying for the coach for our game on the 29th December!

True enough! Had almost forgotten those days!
I only really know about that stuff because there was an in depth article on the BBC website when you went on your cup run. I'd known about you playing 'just' over the border in England but didn't know you'd ended up playing all the way into the west Midlands

Apologies if already mentioned, but why were Orient not wearing their usual red home strip at the weekend?

Why’s that?

Hope they stick us on tele so I can finally watch us in bed.
Their ground is bloody awful. Suitable for the level they play at, but not for anything above that. Tiny allocation in a tin shack of a stand, facilities poor, transportation there poor.

I also doubt we'll be on the Friday/Monday either. Maldon & Tiptree v Grimsby/Newport and Solihull v Rotherham are 2 more likely ties I'd say. Maybe if we get Stourbridge we have a chance, but will the TV companies wait until the replays have finished to confirm?

I think they'll choose those 2 games and move ours to the Sunday.

Think it's something to do with Remembrance Sunday. Couldn't find an answer for this week's kit but apparently they wore a one-off white kit last year too.

Doesn't really say why but their website states;

Leyton Orient’s third kit will be making its debut away at Morecambe this Saturday and whether you’re travelling to Lancashire or following the game from home, you can show your support by purchasing yours today.
This white kit from New Balance keeps with Club tradition and captures the eye with its classic and clean design. Accompanied with white shorts and socks, the white shirt has a bold black collar which grabs the eye and matches kindly with both shirt sponsors.
After Saturday’s league game on the road, the third kit will then be making its home debut "when the O’s wear it for the Emirates FA Cup first round tie against Maldon & Tiptree on Sunday 10 November (12.45pm)."
The Leyton Orient replica third shirts are available to purchase now online and in-store, ranging in junior sizes from XS to XL and in men’s sizes from XXS to 5XL.

Coventry v Lincoln or Ipswich
Solihull v Rotherham
Tranmere or Wycombe v Chichester

5XL ! They wouldn`t get in our turnstiles and to think this is the club that christened Stoke fans the Lardies.

Heady days, magical mystery tour of the Cotswolds our chairman at the time (now club president) called it. Leaning on a perimeter fence in the middle of nowhere watching the likes of Ruislip Park and Henbury Old Boys was not your typical Saturday afternoon at the football, but it helps put a bit of perspective into losing to a 95th minute goal at Carlisle!

Who knew that a third kit ever needed a 'home debut'?

We did it once purely because we were in administration for the first game and the pink was the only kit Sondico could get out in time for the game.

One of the only clubs I can remember that have changed their official club colours from Blue to Red.

If, and it is a huge if, Bromley beat Bristol, our trip to them could be on. Not too far for the TV execs to go.

If we can somehow win at Newport in the replay then I think our second round game at Maldon and Tiptree could throw up a big upset and we might just nick it.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the away fans react when they turn up to a ramshackle ground with nonexistent facilities and half a dozen home fans, a far cry from what they're used to. But I don't think Maldon will need a replay.

A bit Harsh, Newport’s ground isn’t THAT bad.

If the sizes are anything like Errera, 5XL is an old school L!

Can see Bromley vs Argyle being on tv if they beat Rovers. Top of the National league.

Solihull will probably get on because they've got Tim Flowers as manager and also sound like a proper non league club, despite being full time with a decent budget.

Portsmouth v Altrincham would have been nailed on if it were at Alty.

Agreed. Generally the method of selecting TV games is that its a non-league side at home to a league side. I can't remember too many instances of TV games where a league side is at home to a non-league side.

I'm sure someone will prove me wrong!

What leagues were the respective sides in 2002? God I had almost forgotten that awful day. They went and drew Arsenal at Highbury in the next round I think.
