How many do we think Fleetwood will bring to Alfreton today 300? Do they even have a forum?

Out of all the players missing it's Nathan Tyson we miss the most, who can forget his performance at yours last season? Thankfully he's started light training again so should be back soon.

When I saw no Akinfenwa in the squad I thought we were quids in to be honest, almost always causes us huge issues even this season with our big bastard centre halves.

Didn’t realise it was 7 missing though, Akinfenwa aside they were all recognisable names to me. Explains the approach to the game a little more.

Drew at home to hartlepool if anything were lucky to still be in the cup, no doubt our replay will be on tv and well lose

I feared the worst for the game tbh as we had two first choice defenders suspended and were forced into playing 442, we normally go 352. Sounds like we gave a good account of ourselves considering we've been woeful of late. Terrible cup draw for both sides really but looking forward to the replay, should be a decent crowd if they slash ticket prices.

Losing 2-1 can’t moan about playing a weakened side because we aren’t, we are just very poor

Despite the 1-4 scoreline, I felt the Cods put on a pretty poor display. Looked more like a pre-season rather than a cup game. No urgency, far to many misplaced / over hit passes. My little group totally unwhelmed by the whole event. With Alfreton struggling in their league this was always going to be a tough one for them but they did battle until the end so credit there. Poor attendance figures for both sets of fans, so atmosphere lacking. One to forget and move on for both teams.

Sutton Utd or Slough for us, that is if we somehow manage to squeeze past Hartlepool.

Crawley or Southend away. Couldn’t be more unappealing, I’m sure they feel the same.

Shrewsbury or Salford away.

Class draw if Salford win, we get to see the return of Graham Alexander.

The football gods only allow us to play L1 teams though so Shrewsbury will win.

Luton at home. Not exciting for either team but certainly a winnable tie for both of us too. We've been decent at home and it will be interesting to see how we fair against a team from a higher league.

Have to agree. Our support base has a huge amount of apathy nowadays.
Thought it was a pretty poor game.

4 or 5 of our better players were cup tied and I just didnt understand Billy Heaths starting XI. We had Josh Gowling on the bench a young lad with pace to burn and a lad with League 1 experience on the bench!

I thought we were gonna pull Sunderland when we were down to the final 10 teams, bastards!

For me this is as tough as the Wycombe game. Only one defeat in the league at home for Bury, whilst we’re not flash (but improving) away from home.
We are 29 places above Bury at the moment and starting to knock on the door of the Championship, so a defeat for us in my opinion would be a “shock”.

Morecambe or Halifax away. With a replay in that match I doubt that the TV choices will wait, unfortunately.

We have a poor record against Morecambe and we've never played Halifax in their or our current incarnation. However, Halifax was the first football league match for Wimbledon FC back in 1977.

Well you're a new team now so it doesn't count. Remember where the real team are yeah?

Another game against Steve Evans, really happy about it, if you're going to lose 3 games in a season to someone it may as well be to a likable guy like that.

:tw:

Pompey at home. Good team - not unbeatable, but they have Nemesis in their squad. Hopefully Brett Pitman's been called up for I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, otherwise we're in trouble... ;)

Just seen we were drawn against Bury. If we were at home for this id be pretty confident that we would get through to Round 3 with some relative comfort but away im still not sure about us. Feels like its got replay written all over it to me.

Second round away to Guiseley, they are just above Alfreton so good chance of progressing to the 3rd. Barton will take this seriously with the prospect of some good dosh around the corner, if nothing else one can dream of playing against a leading Premier League team, which I am sure is what Guiseley are doing right now !

Guiseley v Cods to be televised on BT, Monday night 20.00. Well that has fecked up my lovely trip along the A59 on a sunny Sat afternoon. Mums, kids, and quite a few dads will not be able or want to attend now, so the 'magic of the cup atmosphere' will be shite. Massive tv audience of about 101 ( the 1 being the tv remote batteries going and not being able to change channel). Not to worry, think of the money, after all it is this and not the fan who is important.
Oh, I nearly forgot, got to get up early tomorrow as our game with Walsall kicks off at 12 not 3 in order to accommodate the TV.

I share your sentiments Pug, thats the consolation of being on TV, also tomorrow, like all clubs ( ex Premier ) we need the money and its not to be sniffed at

Crawley have made the replay tomorrow dirt cheap, so because I'm a mad fool I'm braving the South side of the M25 at 5pm in the hope of getting there for what is a largely pointless game. If we win we're at home in the 2nd round and currently Southend are allergic to playing well in any form at Roots Hall.
