I'm flying to Chicago on Sunday for work. Shame as we look to have turned a bit of a corner after the last 2 games.

For once I go into an FA Cup round quietly confident that our ball will be in the bag for round 3.

Good luck with your hospital appt mate.
Oh dear, ...... I hate quietly confident!

Sounds like Chesterfield are due a defeat then.

They have sent us another 224 tickets, we've sold 1560, so will hopefully shift the extra ones too.

What out for those pesky non-league clubs

I'm imagining that the Sincil Bank turf will have been watered with only the finest Himalayan spring water in advance of our FA cup match with them.

Of course it will be this time. How else would they be able to properly play their slick flowing brand of tiki-hoofa????

50 left as at COP today; still available from the club shop until mid-day on Saturday, so most likely 1784 happy Mariners in Chesterfield (at Kick-Off).

Woking bringing an impressive 1000 on Sunday which may generate an atmosphere I suppose. See if it’s just like watching Brazil a la the Stevenage game.

One time when we played Woking they bricked the away end dressing room window after we beat them at their place.

That’s all I’ve got for Woking.

There was that time we beat them and Garry Hill declared that we were "THE WORST GRIMSBY SIDE EVER" before we got to the playoff final and narrowly missed out on promotion by sudden death.

They sound lovely! By bricked I assume you didn’t mean they built it? :)

Reminds me of a time in university I went along with a Barnet supporting mate in Liverpool to see Chester v Barnet. The Barnet fans coach gave us a lift back to the station and Chester fans were throwing things at it as it pulled away... and Cheshire is the Surrey of the North.

Of course this was before Barnet became our sworn enemies.

I always loved playing Woking, seemed to score in injury time against them every season, played them 9 times and won 8 and the other was a 2-2 draw and both our goals that game came in injury time, the second one after Woking had retaken the lead in injury time after our first equaliser, they must have fucking hated us.

Edit: Oh and Disley dived to win our pen too. :bg1:

Nah- something much more pure than that. True Lincolnshire rain- been at it all morning. Mind you, surface will be too slippery to play football on.

Looks like another decent crowd for this one (don't take it personally but it's nothing to do with the opposition!) around 7k+.

Very tough test for us, probably as bad a draw as we could've got, but I still have a bit of hope that we can put in a battling performance, though I'm guessing we'll be without Nadesan who is a big miss.

Cup-tied I think. Thought Nadesan was excellent when you were here a few weeks ago- fast, powerful and good football brain. Not sure what your options are but think you'll miss him.

Must say that I'm a little bit surprised to see that the bookies make Chesterfield favourites for our game tomorrow.

I have a rule of never betting on my own team but 2/1 to win is quite tempting!

That seems a little optimistic. I'd be surprised if you are not in the hat for the next round.

Absolutely crap playing on a Sunday.

100% agree with you there, Saturdays are football not bloody Christmas shopping!

Also, if you were to beat us I dont think it would be a particularly "shocking" event worthy of special coverage to be honest.

Well at least we didn't go out to a non-league team this year.

Worst draw we could have got and it sounds like we played like it.

Another spineless, gutless performance from a team of absolute chancers stealing a living as professional footballers.
