Hardly seen the Imps at any top flight clubs (mainly because we were so consistently crap at cup competitions in the past) so if we had drawn Palace away after at least 3 visits before, I would have been devastated.

It's a bit of a quirk of fate that one of the other teams we could have got that I have already visited was Everton. Still it's a great draw and hopefully there will be a very decent gate, hopefully around the 30k mark including a very healthy number of travelling Imps.

Everton is a great ground IMO. We’ve played them twice in the last 6 or 7 years, won 1-0 in the first and lost a replay in the second. Think we took around 5.5k the first time as it was a weekend and a hit 3.5k for the replay.

I reckon you’ll be allocated around 6k so with the momentum you’ve built over the last few years you should sell out no problem. Will be a cracking day for you all.

Yeah that was kind of my initial reaction to the draw, but never been to Selhurst Park though and as a current resident of that shithole I'm happy for the extra local game. Part of me wanted Brentford when they were drawn out the pot as a home team and we still weren't out.

Been a couple of times, not the easiest by road at all.
Good stand for getting an atmosphere going though.

I live down in London so I'll either just get a train to Thornton Heath and walk it or stay at my sister's the night before as she lives in Crystal Palace about half an hour away from the ground on foot. Does look like a pain in the arse to drive to, but I think this has kind of bled into a myth of being difficult to get to via public transport. Probably because there is no tube station. The Overground and trains are fine though. I can't see the 10 minute walk from Thornton Heath being particularly difficult.

Only time I have been to Selhurst was when it was still open terrace and pissed it down all game. 1-0 loss didn’t help. Seemed to remember it was a fair walk from public transport.

Only good thing about the day was chanting ‘Nigel martyn shits his underpants’ all game. Initially he was bemused, then found it funny.

I am really glad the powers that be finally decided to show a Man United FA cup tie after the abhoration that was missing one in about 50+ odd consecutive ties last season .

I also can't see the point of Wolves v Liverpool. That fixture already happens twice this season.

Plenty of other ties more worthy of a live showing than those two.

If they wanted to show a top team at home then Man City or Chelsea might have been better.

Least with one you'd get some goals and excellent football and Forest are more likely to give Chelsea a game than Reading are at Man U.

Agree with the general consensus on the other ties - no brainers.

Thought BBC might go for another potential lower league v Premier league tie as they like to hype up the romance of the cup.

Least if we are embarrassed its only going to be live to a small section of the country rather than FTA!

Every cup game gets millions of viewers on BBC, more than any live Prem game.

You can't compare BBC with BT though (or Sky as you do in your example with FA Cup v Prem). I'm an avid darts follower (and rubbish player) and when the BDO World Championships was on BBC viewing figures would routinely get over 3m. The PDC can only dream of those viewing figures on Sky, but no-one in their right mind would compare the standard, or suggest the BDO had more well known players.

However, what you can compare is BT v BT as Laker has done, and those figures (if true, and I have heard similar) are telling.

I see Southport rested their entire first team in yesterday’s game against Solihull with 9 players making their first team debut, 7 of whom signed during the week.
Think we are going to be in for a really tough evening at Haig Avenue tomorrow night with some very tired legs. It’s a full house, for the first time since Southport left the football league. The atmosphere is going to be electric. I’m expecting a bad tempered affair with plenty of bad sportsmanship. I’m sorry to say I fear for the worst.

The referee is Thomas Bramall, who allowed the Chester captain to pretty much ref the game in the 2-2 when Tollitt get sent off a couple of years ago. Our best hope would be to deflate the Sandgrounders with an early goal, but extra time and penalties wouldn't surprise me.

Leicester FA Cup tickets are adult £30 seating, £26 standing. Same as for the Spurs game last season.
Normal league tickets are £19/21 (early/match day) seating and £17/19 standing.
Leicester ticket prices have split opinions down here. Tickets go on sale today for ST / Trust members. Doubt we'll sell as many as for the Leeds game last season.

That is outragous considering they are also getting TV money as well. Bang out of order IMO. If we did that I would certainly not be impressed but luckily we are changing our normal league prices.

Last season we had 6,887 for the Leeds game in R3 and 9,836 for Spurs in R4. Don't think Leeds was a sell out and we put in extra seating for Spurs. Capacity normally is about 7,500.

Don't have a problem personally with the ticket price hike. Understand that the club has to maximise its revenue streams. Last year's FA Cup run turned a £500k loss into a £250k profit for the season. I understand that Leicester fans are booking up the hospitality boxes, which are also on sale at inflated rates.
