Quick question to Grimsby fans. We’re coming up on the supporters coach Saturday, and I will have a teenager with me who always asks when we arrive three hours early, what’s the plan? Thought I might have one this time. Although we are well blessed in that department too, I hear the fish and chips are good. Where would you suggest I take him to kill some time, how to get there from the ground and how long to walk? Cheers, see you Saturday.

Quite looking forward to our game against Harrogate. It’ll be a different kind of pressure for the lads to contend with compared to the league. Harrogate will come and attack us, so it should be an open, attacking game.

I suspect all our loanees will be available, barring Kian Harratt.

GK: Harry Lewis

RB: Brad Halliday
CB: Matty Platt
CB: Timi Odusina
LB: Matty Foulds

CM: Ritchie Smallwood
CM: Alex Gilliead
CM: Ryan East

RW: Dion Pereira
ST: Vadaine Oliver
LW: Lee Angol

8,000 ish 3-1 City

Where do I say I am going to Grimsby the place. Moreover, I think the coach drivers know where it. I have not been to Cleethorpes for over 30 years, so was hoping for a bit of local knowledge. Thanks for your contribution.

Just head for the seafront plenty of chippys, watering holes, slots and donkey rides. I’m sure a couple of the Grimsby lads will be able to put the best names

I always like the fish and chip restaurant on the pier, plenty of amusements and seaside things around to keep busy for a few hours. About a 10/15 minute walk from the ground

Thanks Pub. Changing the subject, I don’t think Ryan Law is doing as well for you as I had hoped/expected. I thought he had something about him, especially going forward.

Cheers, not sure a hulking and surly teenager will be keen on a donkey ride mind.

Sure someone else will be better as I've not been living there for a long time now, but Ernie Beckett's is best chippy for takeaway and Steels for a sit down meal. Both in the main square of Cleethorpes not far from the pier.

Cheers I will look out for them, if we have time to kill a sit down might make sense.

Away to Crewe, would expect Wellens to make 4/5 changes, he's already said changes will be made but not wholesale changes. Omar Beckles has played every single minute in the last few weeks, so might be rested against his former club IMO.

Our game in hand away at Wimbledon is the following Tuesday, which is more important.

Progressing in this is the last thing we need, a swift exit and a congratulations to Solihull in order.

I disagree, we can't afford a dreadful performance, need some confidence ahead of two really hard away games in the league. A replay is not what we need mind.

I still have recurring nightmares playing them in the really dark days and getting set pieced to death. It'll happen again tomorrow.

From the ground it’s about a 15 minute walk towards the seafront straight down Grimsby Road which is the big long road outside the ground and once you’re there you are spoilt for choice.
As Gladders said Ernie Becketts is the best takeaway chippy and to get to that you turn right just after you’ve walked past Wetherspoons (Picture Colissuem) and Steeles is there too diagonally opposite Beckett’s although for a sit down meal I personally prefer Papa’s on the Pier but you can’t go wrong with any of them.
Round the corner from those on the front there is Seaway which used to be really good but I went to go in there a few months ago and it’s cash only which probably puts quite a few off now and I didn’t have any on me on that day so not sure if it’s still any good in there.

At least you’re not playing them in the league this season, no need to thank us. :bg:

Nah not at all bothered this season, survival at all costs, no point in progressing and getting any potential money spinners with Raj in charge anyway, it's only getting slipped under his mattress.

Bang Theo up top and call it a day.

Chesterfield away. This will be a real tough one, can see a replay at Sixfields being the outcome.

Agree on that largely just the confidence is fragile and getting gubbed at their place by an XI taller than the BFG isn't gonna help

Thank you very much, very helpful, the boy will think I'm organised for once:).

Will you be going for it with a full team or not? What is your style/set up? Not sure what Schuey will do. He normally goes for it in Cups, but our system is based on two number 10s, and two of our four are out long term. Mind you the two that are fit ain't too shabby - Whittaker has more goal contributions than anyone else under 21 in all four divisions. Our number ten back ups are a 16 year old and a just 17 year old. Think the 17 year old (Jenkins-Davis) will get a fair bit of time. Looking forward to it, suspect we'll bring just shy of 500.

Tranmere at home. Right after facing them away last weekend. A cup draw that neither team wanted really.

I fancy us to win this. We seemed to really have their number last week, I appreciate they had a real off day but we didn't look troubled at all. Plus, as far as I understand the suspended players will be back for this as League suspensions don't apply for the FA Cup. I think?

Obviously, there's a good chance Tranmere will put in an improved performance, and there is always that chance with Carlisle that we'll put in a stinker like we did against Stockport, but as long as we don't get any more players dropping out this week, I think it will be repeat.

Carlisle United 1-0 Tranmere

Bad news for Mansfield, our pitch might be a bit wet tomorrow - they won't enjoy having a sit down every two minutes this time.
