Nuneaton 2-0 Alfreton (Byrne 46, Williams 74)

We are shocking. Absolutely pummelled from pillar to post today by Nuneaton it should have been a whole lot more. Double figures really.

Keep turning up like this each week and will be playing Northwich Victoria in the Evo Stil premier next season. Pathetic defending again for the goals

Things must change at the Club!!

I think its is a nudge to the owners Manchester United roots. Its not caused a dip in attendances which have improved massively since they took over

More like alienated the original fans and used it to bring in a load of plastics. Just because they've brought in more fans than they've lost doesn't make it right, otherwise by that logic MK Dons was the right move...

This is why I was joking on the other thread that Alty should have marketed themselves to Utd fans and they might have gotten on TV too.

Great results for Alty, Eastleigh, Forest Green and Stourbridge today. It feels like there have been more upsets than usual in this round.

How we didn't win 4-1 baffles me, Gav Rothery scored a cracking fourth goal jinking in & out of players across the 18 yard line then cut in and curled a shot onto the far corner of the net. Lines woman flags for offside????? Wtf.
The penalty given against us came from a Barrow cross out on the left, our full back (outside the box?) Jumps with his back to the ball, arms by his side. The ball hits his arm from 3 yards away, no appeals, then the ref blows and points to the spot! Harsh

Thanks guys, just back from watching us easily beat a league 1 side who weren't that bad but we just outran them, outfought them and beat them well and truly with sheer effort and no little skill. Our keeper had very few saves to make. All the more amazing with so many key players out injured and we lost our captain and played the last 30mins with a 18 yr old youth lad at centre half.

Great day especially for our younger fans, us old codgers had lots of this over the years and there is no better feeling.

Eastleigh fully deserved to win, better in every department and made our bunch of clueless fuckwits(on and off the pitch) look like the amateurs they are. They physically bullied our players all over the pitch, was like men against boys. However, they are an absolute disgrace as a club. They kicked lumps out of our players all afternoon. Colclough forced off after a clattering. Inman got wiped out half a dozen times, including one time in the area where we should have had a stone wall penalty in the first half. Their dirty horrible antics were pathetic, as were their tin pot fans who probably only attended the game because it was the cup. I mean, a pitch invasion, sort your lives out! Beating us is no achievement.

The ref was pathetic. Missed countless opportunities to reign in their dirty play but didn't bother. Let them run riot, almost literally. Missed a stone wall penalty, his 2 linos weren't much better either.

It seems that it's not just Rovers fans who are unimpressed with Eastleigh's style of play :fish:

Fully deserved win for Stourbridge, although I didn't get the best view of the penalty and red card incident. We missed a couple of real opportunities in the first half and our goal was as scrappy as you get.

Good luck to them in the next round.

Dilema for many of the remaining clubs I guess is - TV tie or good chance of progression for round 3...

Congrats to Alty, would have been on TV many years, and glad to see you through. Guess it's a shame that Salford got through as I'd put money on them getting on TV again.

I was as surprised as you by the outcome in both incidents - though they were up the opposite end and I didn't have the best view.
Hard to describe how bad we were today. Probably edged the first half, the two attacks/goals conceded aside, but there was no effort from anyone. Two stupid red cards, one from our new loan full-back (here for a month, out for three games...).
Manager will be sacked very soon, so just a question of who's available now?

Stones 2-5 Colchester. Commendable effort from the stones.

Whilst true, take nothing away from a very impressive attacking Colchester performance.

Wealdstone 2-6 Colchester United (Att: 2,469)

Basically read my review in the L1 forum. Colchester are there for the taking defensively but up against a side 3 divisions below, their ability really did shine through. George Moncur totally ran the show in the centre of midfield.
