EDIT - How a team can go from keeping 7 clean sheets in 10 or whatever it was to being so shambolic is incredible.

Any chance your defensive blip could last just one more game? ;) (although we have probably helped you by the fact we have only 1 centre forward available for Wednesday :hb:

I'd be surprised if we made it three bad performances in a row, I'm expecting a big response.

How did the attendance compare to when you played Leyton Orient the other season?

Surprisingly the attendance for the Leyton Orient game was 1,104. Our attendance was badly affected as the game was given prime-time coverage on BT Sport. We have history of even poorer crowds if the game is on TV. Understandable I suppose with it being £18 to get in

Yesterdays attendance at Whitehawk was 1,200.

The Vision are seeing things much more clearly again.
Chris Todd is steering the ship well & we are once again very tough to beat and are picking up great results.

Vision can't be plural, it's hard enough dealing with one vision as it is!

Oh dear mate....for the English grammar lesson, whilst you are correct that the word "Vision" cannot be plural, "The Vision" (which is what i wrote) can be plural, as "The Vision" are a collective. Maybe go back to your spotty little rudeboy urban dictionary and trade it in for a higher level of education one.

Point taken Mr Polite. I thought of the Vision as more as an amorphous spirit that resides at the Silverlake Stadium and nourishes all of Eastleigh's players and staff in lieu of monetary payment.

Definitely a case for a questionable use of the ellipsis there.

I thought that was an incredibly spirited performance from the cash-strapped Imps against moneybags Whitehawk yesterday.

If "The Vision" is, as you assert, a collective, then it should still be referred to in the singular, should it not?

The Vision is amongst us all at Eastleigh FC.
You are right in that it's a spiritual thing, but in all seriousness, regarding your secondary comment around the monetary situation with our players, i would probably say only 3 players are perhaps on more money than they should be at this level, but we are certainly not the only club who will have 3 high earners and there are plenty in this division who will be earning the same, if not more, higher than our 3 top earners. Of course some on here choose to disbelieve that, as it gives them a good reason to hate us. We are fine with that scenario, we don't let it bother us anymore, because once we get promoted, another club will come along for those folk to moan about and hate. When really all they need to do, is look at what is going on at their own clubs. If their club no longer has the finances to compete at the top table, then they just need to accept that newer clubs with a brighter vision, will potentially take their place as leading contenders.

It can be either in British English, with the plural often used, while in American English it should only be referred to as a singular.

Think of it in terms of sports teams, in British English they can be referred to as either, but generally are referred to as the plural (to take an example from today's BBC gossip column "Bayern Munich are interested in Willian", whereas in American English it would be "Bayern Munich is interested in Willian").

A Lincoln player gets a hat trick in the cup away from home for the first time in 120 years and we still lose thanks to some truly terrible defending.
Can't believe the beeb are calling it an upset....
Mind if you insist employing Kevin Kilbane as an expert no surprise really.
The worst result in your history?
Worse than N.Ferriby?

Would have fancied us at home to Chesham - just a shame that we'll go out in the replay.

Not read this thread so apologies if it's been covered but what happened to the FCUM fans' protest of not going in the ground for the first half? Looks pretty full to me...

Sounds familiar.

Chesterfield can rattle in as many goals as they want against this lot for me.
