Must be nice to have gracious fans.
We've got Lincoln fans coming on our web site hoping we get relagated because we beat them?
Macclesfield must be up there as one of the most inoffensive clubs on the planet. Why would we wish them ill? They've given us some really tough games both years we've been down here, are local and brought a good following. Literally nothing you can do but hold your hands up and say fair play.

For what it's worth, I'd like York to stay up too. Hope Danny Holmes scores but have to want Macclesfield to win, as at least we've gone out to the winners in that scenario.

There's probably a few Altrincham fans would disagree with you but cheers 1884 Belmont

I am probably not the norm but apart from a few scroats most Macc fans are fine.
And what we would do to have your superb manager at Moss Lane,...... its like watching a car crash at Alty at the moment :emb:

absolutely spot on belmont my mate chris took me into the supporters club after the away game last week, top club with glass windows looking out onto the pitch , top supporters who gave an intelligent assessment of the game with only a tinge of bias, even holroyd and browne took the trouble to say goodnight when i apologised for disturbing their conversation so i could get to the stairs.

Top top organisation, i really hope they go on and win it

Does anyone know if you can buy tickets for the final on the day at Wembley?

Cheers

Sold 6,100 so far, more than I expected to be honest! Probably the same 6k who went to Stamford bridge ten years ago.

From what I can work out of FA website, York look to have sold more, any idea how many?

Both clubs have now passed 7000. For us that's a very good effort actually. Our sales seem to have rocketed in the last few days. Fair play to the people in charge of advertising it, they've done a good job.

Yeah for once they've gone about things professionally instead of trying to be funny! Great social media marketing, Good work out in the town with the "We're Going" campaign involving lots of local businesses and great move tonight holding an open evening with then squad and letting the kids have a kick about on the pitch.

Just hope we don't crash and burn on Sunday now! A good piss up round that London town whatever though!!

A bit over 7,000 last we heard. Whatever we'll both be massively outnumbered by South Shields, which is a bit of an eye opener.

Got to feel for Macclesfield, they'd literally been preparing for this final for the last three months.

Some good Arms Aloft-age from Millsy.

Good game, thought we were the better side but our usual old problem of not being able to hit the net has haunted us.

Ah well fair play to Parkin, even in defeat I can't begrudge him scoring winners against us he's a Macc legend.

Right back to the boozers of London for a session!

Only the Tin Potters think like that- a REAL club's fan would want to rip the traitor's heart out. :fl:

Good game to watch, thought Macclesfield looked good again.
Still hurting about joining pub league, hopefully money from trophy can keep most of them together and do an Halifax.
Pity McNamara had just gone a week earlier.

Our season summed up in 90 minutes. Try and play football, don't score, out muscled. Hope it teaches Askey a lesson that getting someone in up front who offers something different wins games at this level.

You might want some of them to accept promotion every once in a while then.

I guess we passed it around nicely but it was the same old problems that cost us - we can't finish and we aren't strong enough against physical teams like York. Parkin ran the game for them. Says a lot that they only had a few chances but still scored 3 goals. We're crying out for a player like him for next season.

Still no matter the result it was a great day out and the club was well represented thanks to a good turnout from the fans (not often the tinpotters match the support of the big ex league club). Hopefully some of them stick around next season.
