I'm not particularly optimistic about this. Macc were the better side in our last two games against them, it's going to be tough.

Not sure how many will turn out either. I wouldn't be surprised if there was 3,000 or 7,000! There is still a lot of apathy about this cup, but it's only a tenner.

Either way, here's to a good game.

Less than 300 tickets left for us today.
Sure the Crowley brothers (whoever they are!) will have us pumped up for this one against Gary Miles' team.

Yes, difficult to call on the pitch and off it. The club have really hyped this match with Mark Palios on BBC Merseyside last night, which could influence the gate (could also explain Mellon's bizarre decision to rest Cook on Tuesday).

Macclesfield looked good in midfield last week, with Kingsley James running the game for long periods. However, they were lightweight up front with Holroyd on his own, and I think Cook and Jennings could be the difference for us today in a tight match.

I think we'll finally see the actual difference in quality between the 2 squads today. Whilst you've been able to chop and change in recent games, we're pretty much running with the same XI each week at the moment. Can't see past a pretty comprehensive home win u fortunately.

Aren't the 300 tickets for the York fans? Think we have more than that available for home fans. If not the gate should be 7-8000 hopefully.

Edit, just seen the tweet about only 300 tickets left for home fans. That's a great turnout again then if so. Hoping the atmosphere carries us on to overturn the deficit and York don't kick us off the park for the third game running!

Seems to be getting wetter and wetter as we head west, shame we tend to play better on a dry pitch! Expect Tranmere to have far too much firepower for us, if they get an early goal could be a pasting.

A few ways this game could go..

Early Tranmere goal, come out flying and fans get behind team and we stuff them like we did Barrow.

Macc frustrate us with a tentative possession based game, edgy 1-0 either way.

Either way I'm hoping for a really good game of football, Macc are the best footballing side outside the top four in National league so it'd be nice to see a game of football. It's essentially a one off game given there is no away goal rule so it'll be fascinating to see how both teams set up.

I think our attempts to play football may get stuck in some sizeable ominous mud patches, just getting the excuses in nice and early!

Sadly unable to make this. I'm expecting either a Macc win in normal time or after penalties.

Tranmere controlling possession but limited to 20 yard shots. Little bit of a stalemate.

2-2 on aggregate at the Bank after Raggett makes it 1-0 to Lincoln. We now have 2 defenders on the pitch #goingforit

Shite. Basically sums up why we're in this league and why we'll probably be here for a long time. As soon as we get any kind of big game we bottle it. Last 20 minutes all tactics go out of the window and we've got 4 strikers within 5 metres of each and absolutely no width.

York now lead 3-2 on aggregate, day of the underdog so it would seem.

Well done to Macclesfield. Not good enough from us. No idea why Mellon decided to experiment with a completely new system in a semi-final. No width and no service to Cook.

The response to going behind was pathetic, lobbing long balls on to McCombe's head, but the manager should have changed the shape by then.

Rode our luck a bit in first half, gave ball away far too easily but much much better in second. Hit bar and post as well. Whether it was hand ball or not, hard to begrudge us the win over the two legs IMO.

20 years since last at Wembley, and I was in fucking France so not a chance I'm missing this time!! Shall be booking the Monday off work very shortly!!!!

No excuses - we weren't good enough.

As brilliant as Danny and Nicky have been, their team selection for the first leg was a huge error.

Wasn't a penalty for York, btw, but you can half see why the linesman has thought so at full speed. As Waterfall has thrown his body at it head first, it's gone under his arm and hit his chest as he's on floor.
