I hope we don't regret not taking our chances last Saturday because I would be shocked if Fylde are as poor as they were last week - they must be near the top of the division above for a reason. Not to take anything away from our performance last week as it was one of our best of the season, we just couldn't stick the ball in the back of the net.

Although I would have preferred to have drawn Orient in the semi for the trip to Brisbane Rd, if we win tomorrow a final against them would be decent also. More exciting than Telford anyway. If the FA had any sense they'd be pulling all the strings to make a County-Orient final happen...

AFC Danny Rowe-AFC Telfwolves final coming up. Never mind - you’ll get to visit Brisbane Road in the league next season.

Indeed. They would be a decent National League sized club.

I put them in a similar category to Chorley. Tinpot but respected.
None of these tinpot - it's just you are are all in the wrong league ! It's not the 'true non-league clubs' fault that some ex-league clubs became quite so crap is it?

Orient going full Orient here. 1-0 up but down to 10 men after 25 minutes. Why make things easy when you can try to fuck everything up?

I'm not sure in the end what was more satisfying, the fact we won the tie and reached the final or the manor in which we did it against easily the most cynical side I've seen in our time in non league, now I fully understand the term "getting reffed out" down here.

First ten minutes we go 2-0 up on agg, a major cluster fuck occurs in the Telfs defence with their defender heading it back to their keeper and he completely misses it gifting Matt Harrold a goal, we then control the game until Harrold is sent off.

The Telfs in the build up to the red card, then decided to start doing what they did in the first leg, throwing themselves to the floor, faking head injuries time and time again - What amazed me more was that one of these incidents was done right in front of the linesman, the Telford player still demanded a physio on for a head injury even though he'd clearly not been hit in the head.

Matt Harrold I think brushed their player going up for a header, Telford player goes down clutching his face - A very weak ref shows the red card and the Telford player is up again right away. Telfords pressure eventually pays off and they find a goal.

Second half, we start to play to the weak ref more ourselves - Going down easily and time wasting from time to time. Telford force alot of half chances despite their possession.

We then manage to get a third from a set play and see the game out very well, we were magnificent defensively today - playing 70mins with ten men.

I enjoyed rubbing it into the Telford players as they fucked off at the end, our supporters are one of the more respectful around and we would applaud a losing/winning team off if they'd played the game the right way and put in a good honest display - Not this Telford team, oh no, chats of "Your fucking shit", "we only had ten men" and "Cheats" and they deserved it, they couldn't out play us and in the end couldn't even out cheat us over two games. Fuck winning this thing, it was worth it for that.

The excitement was all too much for me, I had to take an emergency dump on the Arriva train back to Birmingham. But I couldn't give a shit, after 4 years of hell I will look forward to our first ever cup final.

Ah well, as I predicted it was unlikely we were going to be lucky enough to meet Fylde on an off day two weeks in a row. We started off as we finished last week, looking the much better side. However, once we went 1-0 up it was all Fylde and it felt more like a case of when rather than if. Even when we got the equalise towards the end I had one eye on the game on Tuesday thinking worried about what another 30 mins of chasing shadows and probably still losing would do for our fitness going into that game.

A slight grievance regarding their second as there was a blatant offside in the passage of play leading to it, but overall there's no doubt that Fylde were the better side today and deserved the win. Over the two games we gave a very good account of ourselves and if we'd just capitalised on our superiority in the first leg it could've been very different.

I agree with that. You were excellent at our place and should of really won by ancouple of goals. However, as you have said. It was unlikely we would be as poor this time around. You gave us 2 very tough games. It goes to show if you do gain promotion you have all the ingredients to well in this league. Good luck for the rest of the season

Agree with that. Overall Fylde were the better side in the second leg and deserved the win.

Only thing I had to grumble about was every throw in down our right Francis-Angol effectively used Adam Thomas to levitate and head the ball away with no punishment but the time Palmer did it to score just before half time it was disallowed for a foul. Just looking for a bit of consistency really.

Anyway, back to league action and 7 points to make up on Chorley to win the league.

This is the only tie we have left to here, the final game of the Non League season.

We warmed up for this on Friday beating an Aston Villa U23s side 3-1, we still looked sharpe and hungry.

We'll have 25k there, I doubt I will be watching the Vase final as well.

Can we be the first side since 1993 to do the Non League Double?! :bdick:

Current sales:

Orient c.22,000 (a week ago)
Chertsey Town c.5,500
AFC Flyde c.4,000
Cray Valley Paper Mills c.3,000

Only 3,300 more Flyde for this tinpot cup lark than the most important game in their history :dk:

Probably the calmest I've ever been going into a game, would love to win but not overly bothered if we lose. I'll even stay and watch Fylde lift the cup if we lose.

Our players seem determined to win this, not sure what the feeling is from Fylde after last weeks playoff game.

Heard that Jobi McAnuff will retire after the game tomorrow, lets hope its done with him picking the cup up.

Blimey - that is good going for all those teams.

Probably helps its Orient and 2 of the other teams are local.

Hopefully none of the games will be quite as one sided as the one I saw today!

Having this final today is a nonsense I think, it should be in March like it was when we won it. Orient haven't played a game for 3 weeks FFS and just want to be going on holiday and preparing their squad for L2.

Same as for whoever was in the final, squads for the new season start getting worked on the minute the final game is over in Non League, you don't want to be hanging around for 3 weeks for some tinpot final.

The actual playoff final should have been today, which would have given all playoff teams longer to prepare and longer to sell tickets for the semis and final, just like all the league teams get.

Well played Fylde and the woodwork. Would of been cruel losing at Wembley twice in a week.

Better side on the day won, in truth (despite us hitting the woodwork 3 times and Matt Harrold’s comedy block). Well done to Flyde; you can now add a gold star to your village bus stop. May we never play you again.

Didn't think either side were too clever at the back, Fylde let us off the hook in the first half and we let them off in the second half, we had enough chances to force extra time but it was one of those days.

Great free kick from Rowe - Don't think Fylde had a clear second chance all second half but he punished us for some slack passing and defending.

The double was just one game too far, but this cup certainly helped us with our promotion push though. The victories we gained over Blyth, Brackley and twice over Telford really gave our squad a huge boost in terms of confidence. Our most satisfying win of the season for me was certainly the second leg away at Telford against a team who tried to cheat their way through the tie.

Well done Fylde, they did us a favour in the run in, I have no complaints. Hopefully I won't see us in this trophy again!

Our squad had already been on holiday for a week! Owners sent the players to Portugal for a week of sun.

Its bollocks though as you say, this has been lingering over us for 3 weeks when all we've wanted to do is put our feet up.

It also comes across as the consolation prize as well, I doubt I'd have been happy we'd won it if we'd lost in the playoffs a week before. Not sure what the Fylde take is on it though.........
