Enjoyed his interview on stags twitter, very complimentary of Nolan and Notts though the bleached blonde mop dolloped on top of his head made him look rather ridiculous

He's very complimentary about virtually every club and manager , he does the same thing pre-match week in week out, I'm shocked you haven't noticed.

It's always the same routine, be overly complimentary in radio/Tv interviews.

Act disgracefully , embarrassingly and needlessly like a right twit for 90 mins.

Then post match , state you won't blame the ref for the result but then blame him instantly, talk about stone wall penalty missed or deserved red card for opposition, state you've controlled the game, remind the fans where they were a season ago and repeat ..... He's done this show round the country for years

He is no worse than most of the managers down at that level. And if people are honest, if he was available you would take him. He gets results.
Whenever I think off him - I remember him sprinting down the touch line at Wembley with his trousers falling down celebrating Alex revells long distance strike. Fat fuck.

Fat bastard. Should have been banned for life in 2002. An odious man. There's a rumour he stinks of shit. I can believe it. Doubt he has had a bath since 1992.

I met evans outside the ground and he had all the time in the world to stop talking to his players and other coaches to have a chat with fans and he was very nice.

On the pitch he's very passionate which I like, but sitting behind the dugout is like watching a pantomime at times. He'll probably have a heart attack one day

I think he is a role model. All managers should behave in the same way.

Raynor's worse.
Raynor is not even close to Evans.
If people think Evans is bad now, you ought to have seen Raynor in his Boston days!

He’s also been successful without money, it’s a myth that he’s only done well when backed heavily.

The only positive thing I can say about him is he’s a good manager, although to be fair he’s been poor so far this season.
Very little, if any.

Can't vouch for his Stamford days in the early 90's, so we'll give him that purely through lack of knowledge.

But his first spell at Boston, it turned out that he/Boston were falsifying contracts, using large expenses bills to get around everything, which was way more than they could afford to pay and they got found out.

In his second spell, they again were paying way more than they could afford, which is why they applied for a CVA before FT of their final game of the season at Wrexham. In this spell at Boston, despite having money, it was probably a relatively small budget in the FL but he got relegated.

At Crawley it was obviously a big budget, spending £100k+ on players, which, 10 years ago, was fantasy money, so that's self explanatory. He left there before the money stopped.

He was pretty open in the summer saying that he had top budgets L2 and L1 at Rotherham. When he had a small budget relative to the division (Championship), he again struggled, just like his second spell at Boston in the FL.

Leeds are just Leeds.

Now he's doing a decent job at Mansfield with a decent budget.

Yeah, he was just awful that season he kept Rotherham in the championship with the smallest budget.

Welcome to Cherry Pick City lol

Fat Boy's best attribute, by far, is his ability to get Chairmen to splash the cash, persuade them to outlay more than the previous manager(s) got. He's very persuasive, fat and foul mouthed.

You are forgetting he managed Crawley before the money rolled in.

If I remember correctly Crawley were a financial mess when he joined them, not afterwards. He had them in the top half of the conference with one of the smallest budgets.

Raynor is nothing more than the muppet Luke, he’s not even close to Evans. I listen to it most Saturdays pal.

I didn't say Raynor was worse now, I was referring to their Boston days.

To quote the late great Ronnie Barker in his role as Norman Stanley Fletcher 'He's a charmless celtic nerk.'

But he has told our coaching staff to eff off twice this season when they've gone to shake hands at the end of the game, charmer...

Yes Adam, he has been successful in the lower leagues (regardless of the financial advantage he has or hasn't had). There are a lot of managers who have had far less success, and quite a few who have had more in the EFL.
Yet as you said yourself, he's the worse man in football now Lee Hughes has hung up his boots. Sold your soul? Perhaps. If so, that would be so MTFC tbh, so quite fitting. "The worst man in football"
If he gets you promotion, as he should (ignore his regular weak excuses in the media), then as some say, who cares. The Munto season was the best season Notts fans have had since Big Sam, or more likely the Warnock days.

Evans needs money to succeed generally but guess he does well to get those roles with money I guess.

Enjoyed us smashing his Rotherham side multiple times I have to say as did Micky Adams... the Adams interview on the radio after we drew with Creepy in their first ever league game regarding Evans antics was pure class...

Along the lines off... what a lovely man telling us how he will have to spend more money after drawing... if only I had achieved in football what he has... etc.

Evans may need big budgets to work with, but in his defence I'd say that, so far, he has achieved more than others. Bear in mind how many managers out there were given a blank cheque book and still failed to deliver. A healthy playing budget means nothing when the manager is clueless or simply not good enough.

True Vanni, up to a certain level he's definitely succesful. Although I'm pretty confident the original post and most of this thread isn't talking about his achievements more the unsavoury , unpleasant , and dare I say vile side to the person. His dodgy background, criminal past, touchline behaviour each and every week, his highlighted hair(?), his uncontrollable waistline are the main things he'll be remembered for with or without a MTFC promotion on his CV.

I doubt he cares. He achieved 4 consecutive promotions with 2 different teams and he’s probably set for life from it.

Someone who speaks sense. It's amazing.

I'll be honest, I'm yet to be convinced by him at Mansfield. Though it worked I was somewhat bewildered by his team on Saturday, as were many others. Given the finances he's received, promotion should be the goal.

He swaps too many players, he persists with kyle hemmings- and whereas I hope he improves - is frankly hopeless. The forward line we've purchased (danny Rose was already here) with the budget he had had been poor.

Gillingham have supposed put an offer in for him, and whereas I hope he doesn't go, if they offer the release fee (or whatever's in place) and he wants to go then so be it.

I think those that comment on his waistline or antics do so as they've no comment on his footballing record - which is success. In he history books in time down the line they'll remember success, not his antics or waistline.

That'd generally be the case but the most notable thing that he's done is still being convicted of tax fraud to get a team promoted, suspect that's what'll go down as his lasting contribution to football.

Could the Viking magpie just confirm if he thinks Steve Evans is a fat, vile, unpleasant creature please because I can't tell.
