One of my favourite TV topics, so many people have such a differing opinion on the best films made and they're personal favourites. For me it has to be Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, The Dark Knight, Saving Private Ryan and The Green Mile.

Does anybody else have personal favourites?

I love the Marvel films, also Taken is one of my all-time favourites! (Although they said no-one is going to be taken in Taken 3 so not sure what will happen, haha!)

Do any of you watch any TV series? I feel like I'm the only TV addict amongst us so far!

Training Day and Man on Fire are my two favourites. So I guess it goes without saying that Denzel is my favourite actor...
Other than that, I love Goodfellas and Donnie Brasco.

2001 is my favourite film, but I probably couldn't make a single top ten list tbh, as I'd need to make multiple lists for different genres! :D

Hm... without putting them into any kind of an order:

Jurassic Park
Avengers Assemble
Independence Day
The Lion King
Toy Story trilogy
Star Wars episodes 1-6 (yeah, even the prequels. Fuck you all.)
LOTR trilogy
The Dark Knight trilogy
The Prestige
The Matrix (I don't mind the sequels, but they don't come anywhere near my favorite films)
2001: a space odyssey
Space Jam
Ghostbusters
Godfather 1 and 2
Goodfellas
Wolf of Wall Street
Alien/Aliens

So yeah, this just keeps going. About 602856 films, basically. BUT ALL OF THEM AWESOME. And anybody who says otherwise about a single one of those is scientifically wrong.

Glad you like those. I'm the biggest Alien fan here so good to see another who likes the films.

As much as I like those two, I still need to get around to watching the 3rd and 4th Alien films. I feel like I'm sort of putting them off because I know the forth one is supposed to suck and I don't want it to ruin what has otherwise been a film series that I really do like...

Resurrection is a diabolical film. But it needs to be seen at least once for continuity. Its a classic case of a director and writer not quite having the same vision for a film, so it ends up falling VERY flat. Still needs to be seen. I had never seen it either, but me and my mate went to watc Alien and Aliens back to back on Halloween in the pictures, and he felt that I needed to see Resurrection in preparation, as other than AVP, its the only one Id never seen. Need to rewatch 3 though, its years since Ive seen that.

I have two levels of favourite films, the ones that are all time classics and anybody who has never seen them really needs to because they are so good and so perfect, that your life is incomplete until you've seen them. My snobby choices if you will. They are...

Alien
Aliens
Blade Runner
Thelma and Louise
City of God
American Beauty
Silence of the Lambs
The Wizard of Oz
Se7en
Rosemary's Baby
The Shining

Then there is my second tier, the ones that probably everyone else in the world thinks is shit, and even I know they're a bit shit, but I still bloody love them and have seen them all far too many times!

Some Kind of Wonderful
The Breakfast Club
Lucas
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (The 1990 one)
The Goonies
The Lost Boys
Anchorman
Nightmare on Elm Street
Beetlejuice
500 Days of Summer
Pretty Woman

I won't make a long list. The two films that immediately pop into my head are Gladiator and The Prestige.
