Norris should have had 5, including 2 pens, but FGR were terrible. Funny as fuck with Chuckles saying there was a foul on their keeper for the first goal. Miserable bastard, him.

Vince needs to grow a pair and get him a taxi. Quick.

4 away wins out of 5 including 3 clean sheets. Improve home performances and we'll piss this tinpot league.

On a serious note FGR were terrible aside from Traore, and their keeper for 85 minutes. Reminded me of our second season under Cooper...look decent knocking the ball around until it comes to the 18 yard box and run out of ideas. I would be looking to get rid of him ASAP to be brutally honest. When it's not working he has no other way of trying to change a game. Couldn't be happier that the Cooper/Williams era is a thing of the past and we're back to an uglier but far more effective way of playing football.

For us a professional job well done which was 5 minutes away from being a very frustrating evening and 2 pts dropped. Will need to be better but signs that we're getting there in terms of team selection and moulding 16 new players into a winning outfit.

Expecting a much tougher outing Tuesday v Coventry. A nice tonking and a few red cards for them V Exeter wouldn't go unappreciated tomorrow :sl:

Yup, we were dismal. This is what passes as the norm at FGR these days. Cooper and son need to go but Vince knows nothing about football and will probably extend Snr's contract by another decade. I'm at a loss.

Looking at the goals again, both completely avoidable. We had a warning in the first half when our defenders all rushed in to the middle and left Norris free back post, Roberts actually made a great recovery block but come on ffs, that's school boy stuff. Again for their 1st goal, although Collins should have come for it, it could have still been avoided with a defender on the back post. And when your struggling defensively, you've got to man mark. We're not good enough for zonal atm.

Second goal was powderpuff all round, weak challenge by Noble and then the shot went through Collins. Felt a bit sorry for Collins actually, he played pretty well for most of the game and had it finished 0-0 might have got mom. His confidence is shot though, so gotta get Russell in I think.

FGR looked like a side stuck between two styles to me. Not good enough to 'football' in this division, as their early results have generally shown, but not really the personnel to go more direct effectively either.

We've had to try and go a bit more direct more often. Thats to try and stop us giving the ball away playing it out from the back all the time. We haven't got the players to do it though.

That's what I mean.

In theory, what Cooper is trying to do makes sense, it's just not going to work either. A case of trying to do what you're best at until January.

I thought Collins had a pretty good game until we folded in the last ten minutes, he made a couple of decent saves and caught pretty much everything that he came for. Where I sit we generally discuss who our MoTM is with about ten minutes to go, at that stage last night it was between Drissa and Collins, by the end most of us had decided on Drissa.

Turns out league football isn't quite the picnic that Dale Vince expected. Bottom of the league with away fans in the home ends.

From a club that had 4000 away fans visit us yesterday you are better off giving larger allocations and ensuring the safety of your home fans than giving a small one and presenting the chance for home ends to be infiltrated. Not to mention the financial benefits. Once the novelty of visiting your ground has gone many fans will avoid travelling if they know they will be greeted by an open end. Giving less than 1000 away tickets is embarrassing for a football league club.

It's a fair chunk of the ground's capacity. I'd not be bothered if they gave away fans the north stand again but in terms of allocation don't see much wrong with the current set-up, only going to overflow for a couple of games.

Its all we give away. And only 1 team has sold it out in 2 seasons if I recall correctly. And not Stevenage despite being 10 miles away.

I do understand Dale Vince's argument about not giving the away team two stands, as we have done in the past, and handing the support advantage to the opposition. I know that Bristol Rovers complained when they were allocated the North Stand for the play-off semi-final and we only had something like 150 fans in the West Terrace. I would much rather give the away fans the South Stand, as used to be the case when we moved into the stadium, you could even turn one part of it back into seating again. There are plans to cover part of the open terrace and install some seating, but I haven't seen the plans and am unsure how much would be covered. In an ideal world the whole of it would be covered, it would definitely add to the atmosphere, but I guess the club are reluctant to spend too much unnecessarily with the new ground in the planning stages.

Funny to think we'll be passing FGR on our way up.

Is that black lad up front for you knocking them in this season? Looked a handful when we played you pre-season
