Wouldn't mind the high amount of injuries so much if they didn't last so long after. Injury cards for anything other than head injuries are stupid prices too.

If it was just player off for the match and then no lasting injury after it'd be fine because then it'd at least stop people bronze benching

Shocking, he had a team full of IFsand other expensive players. I went 1-0 up and then after injuring Sterling her brings on Martial. Has 7 players back in defence then just lobs balls over the top on the counter and wins 8-1 (I don't think I'd conceded 8 goals in last 20 games) with IF Son getting 7 :/

Lowers your team rating so you can have a team of absolute stars but then the rating is made to be mid 70d so you get matched up against silver teams and low rated gold sides

Every game seems to follow a similar pattern; I create numerous chances which get blocked or saved, then my opponent score with ease and carry the momentum on. I can't defend for shit yet I can never seem to break any team's defence down.

I've tried several teams and formations, but not found anything that works. Any advice?

4-1-4-1

Strong striker, pass a lot, have striker shield the ball while one of the overlapping midfielders runs past and play a theoughball for a decent one on one. Should get several of these a game. Make sure to pass a lot, especially if they play high pressure because their team will be all over the place out of position so you'll get such good chances.


Obviously get midfielders with over 70 shooting for this, the wingers and CMs anyway

Having the same problems. How do you even begin to defend on this? Also struggle to play through balls, while my team also seems to make shit runs.

Just pulled slimani from a pack any good was in the process of building a premier league team but the premier league players seem so expensive

Haven't used him myself but he should be damn good going by how it works this year.

Prem prices are ridiculous tho so personally I'd sell and you can always buy and use him in the future when the prices settle

I used Slimani in a 433 and he was decent. Good strike on him in addition to his physicality, but my crosses were often blocked or over/under-hit.

I tried The Journey last night and actually enjoyed it.

Trying a 4-3-3 false 9 now. Not sure if it isn't that good this year or I'm just taking awhile to adapt to it. More focus on the wingers cutting inside and I'm not as good as shooting in general this year so that's proving a bit difficult.

That being said I did just win 4-0 and hit the post about 5 times too.

Mangala is surprisingly really good too and a fair bit cheaper than I was expecting.

I bought Slimani for 2.5k while everyone was binning him at 4.5k He must be much more now. First weekend prices, couldnt really get any trading going yesterday as I couldn't get decent value on anything with people just bidding way over the odds (why do people bid ot the point that they pay way over the standard BIN prices?).
Got 100k, haven't got the game. Am I committed? I need to be.

From what I'd gathered it's related to how much you've used the transfer market on previous versions? This is my first ever FIFA on PS4 so was expecting it to be a handful of games but I'm approaching 20 games played now and still locked.

Think you might need to contact EA as it should unlock once you've logged on at all in game.


Just went 4-0 up against a dude 34 minutes in causing him to rage quit 2 goals and an assist for Drogba in a mostly Calcio A side but with Drogba, Piatti and Giovinco in a 4231 wide.

This is probably the best Drogbas been in FUT. Shame the gameplay didn't suit him until he's like 38 in a retirement league

3-5-2 for me. Don't control the defenders unless you need to or pretty confident you can win the ball, otherwise just use one of the two CDM's to cover space and likely passes. Won't always work but helps keep shape and if you've got two decent CDM's (currently Wanyama and Coquelin) they're pretty good at winning the ball back either by doubling up on the attacking player or intercepting passes if they're positioned correctly. It's how I've defended on the last two games and generally been in either Div 1 or 2.

The shielding works a dream also for me, takes a lot of pressure off and slows everything down if you're under the cosh.

not got used to the defending side of things yet but for me this is the most balanced FIFA's been - pace is effective but not too effective and it's difficult to defend but also difficult to keep the ball if you're too direct. It's required a bit of re-training the brain knowing you can't just knock it past a defender with a pacey winger as they'll likely just muscle you off it once you're level. You need to be more patient with passing and waiting for gaps too as through-balls and especially lobbed through balls don't pay off as often.

Only negative knock-on effect of all of this is people going park the bus and counter-attacking again. Hopefully it's just until people get used to the game.

Injuries will get patched. It's annoying how EA haven't kicked stamina into touch yet, it's a fucking pointless aspect and always has been.
