Joey Barton has really stuck two fingers up towards his knockers.
'E done good despite all claiming he was crap.
Well done Rovers.

He’s still an utter bellend and shouldn’t be allowed in football.

He’s still an utter c*** though.

Well done to the Gas in any case, seems Aaron Collins has done alright for you

when Bristol Rovers went 6-0 up the Barrow fans started chanting "Bristol Rovers" - everyone checked their phones and knew the score. then a huge cheer went up behind the goal and everyone - even the Northampton players knew the score - particularly when the Northampton fans started chanting "we need a goal"....
Then the Northampton keeper got sent off for deliberate handball and even then Northampton had 3 good chances - a header over, a brilliant save from Farman and then right near the end the number 7 (i think it was him?) missed a sitter from 6 yards out.
You have to feel a bit for the Northampton fans. The Josh Kay goal just before half time completely changed the game. 2nd half Barrow attacked, Northampton sat back and until the last 5 minutes didn't do enough to try to get a goal.
Before the match i thought if we stopped them going up that they'd win the play off's - but not going up that way might be too much to come back from for them.

I’m sure I’ve just seen some Bristol Rovers fans orbiting the earth. Will take a long time for them to come down!

Congrats Rovers, Northampton are anti football so glad they didn’t go up via automatics.

Thankfully FGR didn’t press us last 5 mins and we would have capitulated and lost

I think story of the season is that we've not got enough ability going forward, and while the last few games have started to see Eppiah and Appere gel, theres zero depth outside that.

We're a limited side on a smallish budget that worked very hard with what resources we have, and tbf probably did as much as could be reasonably expected to do. Some of our best players in Horsfall, Roberts and McWilliams are out of contract, so theres a non-zero chance of our team weakening this year, so any trip up would have been a nice bonus but probably short lived. Accrington have shown that you can scrape buy on a small wage bill, but I dont think the squad at the moment is good enough to compete.

Fuck we made hard work of that.

Happy we’ve got northampton, play no football and look for set pieces falling over all the time their keeper sent off.

Obviously not as easy as that.

As was predicted on here, its the easiest beating Joey Barton has dished out since his missus.

Frustrating to lose another narrow home game, we had enough chances especially in the first half to get something out of that. Tranmere scored the only time they got into our box (well worked goal to be fair) and to their credit they did put in a decent away performance to take the win, first 25mins of the second half we just went through the motions.

Ref had a weird 5mins when he failed to spot a foul on a Tranmere player at a corner, then from the corner that was taken he gave us a penalty for handball, then changed his mind and awarded Tranmere a foul after consulting with his linesman who was further away, then he failed to spot Omar Beckles getting hsi shirt pulled, before pulling Beckles up for a foul after a Tranmere player ran into him

Can imagine Tranmere will be annoyed this evening - Best home record in the league, poor away record and was literally one away win (or 3 draws) from securing a playoff place, which IMO they'd have had a decent shout in giving their recent history.

In fairness well done to rovers, always one side that comes from nowhere and they’ve done just that.

Well done lads.

Sorry Stagat lol your lot I’ve met have been very decent today wishing us the best so good luck to you too. Just promote Vale and Mansfield and kick MK Dons out of league 1 ;)

Haha, no worries mate. Hugest congratulations on your title win today. Sincerely.

Before today's games I wanted you to win the league over Exeter but also and more importantly for me obvs us to not miss out on the playoffs... but having both of those happen seemed unlikely in the extreme. I think Exeter losing and us pair drawing was the only way it could?

Playoffs a lottery ofc, wouldn't be a surprise to see any of us four winning them, same as any playoffs in any year really. Nothing revolutionary in those statements. But while I do hope to join you in L1 next year, even if we don't I wish you the best up there. :ohy:

edit: forgot to say, to you and all the FGR fans, enjoy tonight :woot:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Devon Lad, lick my sack you absolute giant cockwomble. How's your title and win against Vale?

Special mention to the majority of Exeter fans who joined us on the pitch at full time. Bar the odd tit on both sides launching the odd bottle through the air, your fans were a cracking and gracious bunch. Shook hands with loads and wished each other all the best. Nice to see.

Well done Bristol Rovers, I had a sneaky feeling it may have been their day.

Some turnaround, when we beat them 3-1 at their place in September, Barton had two court cases hanging over him, they themselves were terrible and had Brett Pitman up front and their was alot of frustration amongst their fans.

What a turnaround. Two teams in the last two seasons who've been struggling in January, but come May have sneaked a promotion spot.

Devon Lad is currently sitting on a Cayman Islands beach celebrating with a cigar, a green tea and some veggie burgers whilst ensuring his winnings are put in an offshore bank account ;)

Congrats to Rovers, we never get anything down there so glad to see the back of them.

Feel for Northampton but how about we meet at Wembley next season to cheer you up?

Congrats to FGR, about the most league 2 way to win a title from a loss and a draw on the last day.

Arguably one of our most tepid performances of the season today. We never really looked like scoring despite having a fair number of shots. Fair play to Vale, they did what they had to do and defended well. Plus the goal from Wilson was a classy finish.

Feels odd to be promoted yet I still feel a bit flat. Well done FGR, you got a decent point today and congratulations.

That Bristol R win was insane and I can only imagine how those Northampton fans must feel. Gutting.

Overall though, this has been an amazing season for us and looking forward to seeing what we can do in L1.

I know it's a minority, but the Carlisle fans who booed and started singing during todays minutes silence are an absolute fucing disgrace. Absolutely vile. There's no excuse for that. Ever.

Onto the game: Didn't get out of second gear. Was very typical of our season too! We went in at half time 1-0 up, but it could and should have been 4-0. Songo'o had Patrick in his back pocket all afternoon, Walker was fantastic (I wasn't sure about him about four games ago, now he's a must sign player), Angol showed us why he's worth that extra year despite his paper hamstrings, and Vernam created again. Carlisle looked a lot like us under Adams: No ideas, no quality. Shoutout to Jordan Gibson for wearing gloves in May. FUCKING MAY. Soft twat.

Congrats to Bristol Rovers and Forest Green. You guys don't half fall over yersens, but the title win is well deserved. Some real quality in that side.

Really sorry you had to hear that.
it was one fan who chanted. He got called out for it by a few more which may have sounded like more people joining in but it wasn’t. I personally thought it should have been left till after the silence to give him the bollocking, but can’t blame the people near him for telling him to shut up and calling him a sick c*** etc as it was a disgrace. if I’d been near him, the second the match was over me and a few mates would have dragged him out and kicked 7 shades of shit out of him.

Whilst at Rodney Parade, i had more pleasure keeping update with scores elsewhere.
What a day to be a Cobblers or Gas supporter, second 45 minutes must have been so tense for you all.
Same also between FGR and Exeter supporters.
Congratulations to both FGR and the Gas.

Appeared home and dry did the Stags a few weeks back but left it till the final weekend.
Feel for Sutton, first season in the FL.

Interesting to see the highlights later today with jubilations among FGR (title) and Bristol Rovers in particular and also Swindon,Stags and Port Vale.

Such an entertaining final weekend at the top.

Never did i expect Exeter to miss out on the title.
After three straight defeats, i couldn't foresee Vale beating Exeter.
Despite facing already relegated Scunthorpe, never did i expect Bristol Rovers to make up the goal difference on Cobblers.

If Swindon go up via the play-offs, County will have lost their four nearest opponents this season and Walsall will be the shortest trip next season.

That nail biting many of you have experienced today probably matches what i went through on the final weekend in 2017, the great escape which came via a goal with 89mins on the clock
