Stone the Crows: - three teams from West Country secure auto-promotion and Swindon are in play-offs.
C'mon Swindon - make it a clean sweep for the South West..

How bloody ungrateful can you get ;)

On personal level I'd also like to give myself a big pat on the back for getting to 54/54 of our games this season, the 8th time I've managed to get to every game :woot:
Great effort that with the financial contribution that will have needed, especially with the price of everything increasing.

You can't beat us, bloody hell don't be so daft. You mention the Etihad but we've got more points in 2022 than any other club in the top 4 leagues. You won't even draw against us. It'll be 3-0 I expect, and that'll only be cause we take the foot off the gas after the third goal.
Sorry decent Exeter fans but hahahahahaha

I imagine they have a protocol for this sort of thing, perhaps it waits at whoever is ahead going into the final match?
I seem to remember a Premiership final day in the 90s where the trophy was in a helicopter - I think it was the year Blackburn won and Man Utd lost the lead.

when Bristol Rovers went 6-0 up the Barrow fans started chanting "Bristol Rovers" - everyone checked their phones and knew the score. then a huge cheer went up behind the goal and everyone - even the Northampton players knew the score - particularly when the Northampton fans started chanting "we need a goal"....
Then the Northampton keeper got sent off for deliberate handball and even then Northampton had 3 good chances - a header over, a brilliant save from Farman and then right near the end the number 7 (i think it was him?) missed a sitter from 6 yards out.
You have to feel a bit for the Northampton fans. The Josh Kay goal just before half time completely changed the game. 2nd half Barrow attacked, Northampton sat back and until the last 5 minutes didn't do enough to try to get a goal.
Before the match i thought if we stopped them going up that they'd win the play off's - but not going up that way might be too much to come back from for them.

It was surreal. I didn't look at the table, and just assumed a Northampton win sent them up - couldn't understand why our fans were celebrating until they started chanting "you're staying down with us".

We were so shit for the first half an hour, and there's certainly a few players I hope don't return for the new season.

Doubtlessly so, but I might have expected there to be one or more replica sets available at the other contenders for the title on the day, or something along those lines...

Just home. Firstly I just want to say commiserations to Northampton, dare I say over the course of the season you deserve 3rd due to your consistency.

Otherwise what a day, how do even being to explain it? When Northampton were 2-0 and we were 0-0, it completely killed the atmosphere. I said to my dad just before half time, if Barrow can Nick 1, it might just make them sweat a bit - when they did, the chanting of ‘barrow barrow’ came all across the stadium. It was awesome, belief.

Then before you know it, 4-0. Fine. But the chant of we want 7, was a chilling reminder of the task at hand. When the 5th went in it felt a matter of time tbh, I think I broke when the 6th went in - at that point I couldn’t take anymore. When the 7th finally went in, well ducking hell. Was I dreaming?

Then a bump to reality with the idiots storming the pitch. The referee takes them all in, the owner comes down and pleaded over mic to stay in the stands. Barton then comes out with the same message, begging us to stay in. After 20 minutes of waiting we knew what we needed to do, but I have to say I think it worked against us.

Suddenly Scunthorpe were going for it and we clearly didn’t want to score at the risk of the game being called off. It killed our momentum and the atmosphere as we weren’t going to stop at 7, it would have been 9+. We didn’t know how long was left and the added time wasn’t signalled, so the final 10 minutes felt like a lifetime.

Scunthorpe as a team weren’t great, but tbf to them - they didn’t once give up. If it wasn’t for their desperation to keep trying, it would have ended 10+.

Incredible day, a fairytale really. Wishing all those in the play offs well, but after today I will turn my support from Vale/DC to Northampton.

I also believe that todays results makes us the best team in the top 4 divisions in 22.

Tbf to DevonLad though, he did say we’d go up today

Finally home, 400 mile round trip today but buzzing again after some really poor efforts in recent weeks.

Thought we got it spot on today, perfect away performance and similar to the tactics Exeter employed at VP, it was almost carbon copy of that game apart from them hitting the bar with their chance that night and us scoring a winner.

We had some bollocks at least today and great to have Gibbons back, he just improves us so much and he’s been a big miss.

Cracking atmosphere in the away end and good scenes in the main at the end, had a good chat with Exeter fans in their fan zone and afterwards and shock plenty of hands, seemed a decent bunch despite the DevonLad impression you can get on here!

Changes the dynamic for us massively today I would say entering the play offs on the back of that result compared to what it would have been like had we not.

I have to say what a fantastic result. Unbelievable really. Fair play to your team....I thought the celebrations in previous games were a bit premature but today deserves it. Glad Bristol Rovers went up to be honest, I wouldn't have wanted to play them in the playoffs. They've been brilliant in the last few games and hit form at the right time, whereas we mistimed ours by 4 games.

I hope we join you....

Thank you mate!

Pleased for you lot, I said the other day that DC coming back is a massive boost. Honestly the play offs could go anyway.

If I had to make a bet, I’d say between yourselves & Swindon - purely as Northampton must be gutted

I just saw that first goal and that was worse than the Scunthorpes YTS defence Northampton are complaining about

Really sorry you had to hear that.
it was one fan who chanted. He got called out for it by a few more which may have sounded like more people joining in but it wasn’t. I personally thought it should have been left till after the silence to give him the bollocking, but can’t blame the people near him for telling him to shut up and calling him a sick c*** etc as it was a disgrace. if I’d been near him, the second the match was over me and a few mates would have dragged him out and kicked 7 shades of shit out of him.

So, you and your gang jumping some lone fella makes you a better person how exactly?

We definitely got off to a flyer, and all in all it's probably a great result away to Barrow considering how they've done against the other promotion teams recently. I do think from a certain point, what we did was somewhat irrelevant, if Roverts had needed 8 or 9 today to go up instead of 7, I think you would have got it once Scunthorpe had started to completely rout.

Just watching the goals, no mention of us from Colin Murray, the used car salesman and George thingy.

Cheers, won’t miss you all…

Absolute garbage again, defence was all at sea, midfield couldn't pass wind and Bogle may as well of stood next to us in the Town End, bollocks to them, they're getting no more thought out of me, clear the decks and start over.
Shocking again today,a lap of honor after the game, what a piss take.
The lot of them can piss off as far as I'm concerned & what have we done to deserve having Omar Bogle foisted on us for 2 more seasons.
Utter lazy twat.

Ironically a Bristol City fan attended your game today and recorded the action/updates.

Interesting to see what/how it happened in the stadium

Nuts from Rovers, although im not overly shocked as Scunthorpe are terrible and felt a pumped Rovers would have too much.

Congratulations Rovers, good to see a proper club get promoted and well deserved.

Congratulations to FGR on a well earned title and Exeter on finally overcoming recent heartbreaks to go up. Good club and classy to send the Vale squad a message and beers!

Good to see we gave a guard of honour as well at the end.

Not a bad video - says it all at the start, when he says a Northampton win sees them promoted...

To be fair to Northampton, I don't think they bottled it - they thought they were comfortable and it was only when the fans chanted that they started panicking. They missed some BIG chances at the end too.

No way did they bottle it, just unfortunate circumstances.

There was only one chance we’d beat their win by5+ goals and that was home to a Scunthorpe

Sounds like we had a promotion clause in the Ryan Loft to Bristol Rovers deal

I was at Exeter but looks like the beam back was done well at VP and a good atmosphere to boot!

We only won promotion because of Elliot Anderson. An absolute cheat code for this league. Next time I see him will be on MOTD

According to Northampton & Swindon forums it’s a complete fix and we should be docked points

and our friendly Bristol red belters.
Scunthorpe came at us at the start of the game and again when play was resumed at the end.

Every single team in this league (including Northampton and Swindon) have benefitted from our situation this year with 6 easy points being offered to them, there's not much to complain about really when Northampton had a chance to beat us 7-0 too but failed.

To be fair though haven't seen any complaints from the Northampton fans on this forum, they've been sound
