Loans are rarely free either... we are testament to that.

Bolton's squad can't be that great though, they finished last season 18th, and that was after Lennon saved them.

Definitely think their strikeforce is the main problem. Could have scored 3 or 4 past us the other week, only managing one from a soft penalty.

Got to be demoralising for their players when they play well but can't score because their strikers can't finish. And then add on that being demoralised for not even getting paid and it's just a fast track to relegation.

Bolton's strikers are shite but their defence is the problem and that's on the manager, especially when they have a few decent players in Amos, Wheater and Moxey.

They've only scored two less than us, they are where they are because they've conceded 13 more than us.

We've brought plenty of players in that have massively lifted our squad, and only 2 have cost more than £1.2m (and one of those hasn't played at all so far...)

Judge, Tarkowski, Bidwell, Button, Diagouraga, Dean, all of whom play pretty much every week for us, all cost less than £500k, some of them much less so. We got Gray for £600k, and given he's likely to fulfill a lot of the add ons we might see most of £10m for him.

I agree, if you want a "proven" Championship player, you'll probably have to pay at least £3m, but that's not a great strategy anyway unless you have lots of money to throw away.

How many of those would be willing to go to Bolton though? Who's going to voluntarily go to a club who quite publicly cannot pay its own players?

They're basically limited to those who have no other option, hence the likes of Ameobi and Madine.
