We blame Roy Keane for selling Rhodes for next to nothing, whilst he claims he was told from above that he could only keep on of JR or Wickham

He sold him for 'football reasons' or whatever that means. He says we sold him because he somehow thinks that our current defenders are better than him and that they would rather sell him than have him sit on our bench. The fact we sold him for 1-2m is even more insulting.

We look so weak defensively without him, and the current defenders Hause and Ebanks-Landell are simply out of of their depth in this division. It was a big call for him to sell him, and one that is looking like he has really cocked up on.

Jackett seemed to indicate it was him, he described it as a footballing decision to sell a player we could replace internally, so he could spend the money on a D1 winger we have yet to start.

Evans ~~ the 'pub brawler' manager seems to have a fireproof relationship with his employer.
I think he will get them to escape relegation again ~ starting Saturday

However much he is the lager-lout behind the scenes ~ he is giving nothing to the fans except bluster and aggression. At some point the owner may recognise a drop in support may be related to Evans.

Who would go to Rotheram ?

Quite a few I reckon ~~ because thay have a re-buildable, substantial fan base that Evans is eroding~~ he is , imo, unfortunately an unpopular Barry Fry imitator ~~ BF who never achieved anything beyond his bluster.

More than a bit surprised and must have been a fundamental conflict of ideologies, given that most managers would have struggle given our injury crisis at the moment. We've got 10 first teamers out, many of whom are long term injuries, and we've not been able to field anything like our first choice team all season.

The club said at the beginning of the season that it had been a lengthy recruitment process but that Dijkhuizen had been their first choice all along. Also they wouldn't be judging him on the league table but on KPIs. Seeing as we've conceded first in 8 of our 9 matches so far this season... that might have something to do with it. Seems Benham's background of cutting your losses and getting out of a bad trade as soo as possible seem to he governing this decision.

Dijkhuizen had had a meteoric rise in management. He was managing in the Eredivise last season, but had been coaching Dutch Sunday league football just 18 months before!

Lee Carsley appointed until the end of the season.

Absolutely crazy. I can't really understand this decision - I can only figure that there must be something else going on behind the scenes, as there hasn't been any sign of this happening until it did! At the fans forum the other day everything seemed to be going well.

Yes, we've conceded first in most games, but he has shown he knows how to change the team around to get a reaction or a result. With all of the injuries we have had he can't have been expected to pull up any trees in the division this year, and I think we've been a bit unlucky to have as few points as we do.

The club always said that he would be given lots of time to get it right as well, they have said many times they don't understand sacking someone early into the season, as you just can't see how well someone is or isn't doing, and given the injuries we have there is no way they should be able to tell. The timing of it just doesn't sit well with me, there would be no reason to make the change now if all we were going to do was to appoint a caretaker until the end of the year.

There has to be something else going on - and I hope we get some information on what's happened. I've backed the owner with every decision so far, even on Warbs, but at the moment this just seems like a terrible decision.

Thought Dijkhuizen was a really great guy as well, so feel sorry for him.

Some rumours are that he resigned because he was being told to play certain formations, and that he wasn't allowed to make Harlee Dean captain, being told instead to give the armband to the quieter Bidwell.

We've certainly done much better in the 2nd halves of games this season when we have changed from the standard formation we use.

Probably. I really liked the guy but his command of English was the worst I've heard from a Dutchman!

Seems as if the players and club were very unhappy with Roy Hendriksen's training methods (assistant manager) and the pair have subsequently left together. You need a team to be united on and off the pitch, and it seems as if we had neither. Better to act now than when it's too late, but I certainly didn't see this coming.

Yes well spotted........never saw that coming and especially after Saturday where he was on the pitch at the end pumping up the away support.
There is something major happened which we will probably never find out about.

I still stand by my second sentence though.
We will struggle to replace him and stay in this division.

It's been a fantastic 3 and a half years and though I didn't want him to start with he won me over.

I suppose people can go back to liking us now......but I would rather have kept him

It's entirely possible that Dijkhuizen may not realise he has been sacked. He may think that he was attending some blah blah blah boring yada yada yada board meeting en engels met Lekke Meneer Matthew while he was doodling tactics and just zoned out a bit.

Could be embarrassing come Saturday when he finds someone else in his seat in the dugout.
