Aye more than likely, we battered them last half hour, the side as we keep saying is not a bottom 2 one anymore but results keep going against us, and we cant win. I'm not sticking a fork in us yet but we've had a good few minutes in the microwave.
Seems very similar to our squad when we went down, last few months of season we were in pretty much every game but just kept drawing and we left ourselves too much to do but that team for the whole season would not have gone down.

Fantastic performance from us, limited Carlisle to only 3 shots on target, the first of which came on about 80 minutes and pulled a decent save from Morris. We were well on top in the second half and as the game went on it was increasingly likely that we’d be the ones breaking the deadlock. And we did it, eventually, in the 95th minute. The place went mad.

Carlisle are a good side, they’re organised, they’re tough but they also like to play it about a bit, I can well see why they were 3rd at the start of play. I also expect they’ll be there or there abouts come the end of the season despite what hellogregory says.

475 travelling fans is flipping good too, they got a hearty round of applause for their efforts
Fully deserved your 3 points today, we simply weren't at the races. Hopefully we respond to this latest 3 game blip like we did the last one, though I have to say the signs are concerning. We were the divisions top scorers before today, but haven't created a clear cut chance in the last 3 games.

Still hopeful that we won't be facing that mammoth journey again next season, we just need to remember how to create (and convert) chances.

Not sure if Casey watches the same games half the time, loves bigging up opposite teams. Rochdale very marginally better than Doncaster midweek. We were half the attacking threat that we were on Tuesday but scored 2 goals. Coming into form at the right time and the players seem to be playing with confidence. Was a solid lower half of the table affair with both teams trying and Rochdale running out of steam after 60 mins.

Fully deserved the win vs Carlisle today,

They barely threatened Glenn Morris, only looked like one team trying to win the game.

Haven't heard priestfield like that in years, my poor daughter didn't know what was happening

Sounds like clearly i overegged what we could do with the injuries we’ve got, 2 0-0 home games which realistically should be viewed as wins is disappointing but as said the other day it’s never that easy and so it proved.

Didn’t make today as was on the ale trail between huddersfield and manchester so can’t really comment on what happened either. I suppose at least we finally got a point against sutton-in-ashfield.

Another horrible performance from us. On top for 70+ minutes and created one chance of note. Hartlepool were decent for 20 minutes and could have had 6 or 7. We are unbelievably lifeless and would be in serious danger of slumping into the playoffs if everyone else wasn’t so awful.

How we never won that in the second half I'll never know, can't fault their effort or endeavour, hit the beans on toast and the bar, honestly some days your just destined not to win, I think today was one of those days.

We've a fooking mountain to climb now and I think we've left ourselves with too much to do sadly.

What's your opinion of Flynn mate? I didn't realise how long you'd gone without a win before your previous match! I thought you looked pretty well drilled today, surprised you went on such a winless streak. I think both us and you could be decent sides next season if we sort out our attacks. Mansfield obviously did you up like a kipper regarding Johnson. Jamille Matt should bag in a Flynn team, you'd have probably won that match today if he's fit and in form.
Personally i am still behind Flynn some fans arent convinced though. Matt hasnt been fit since he has been here lack of match sharpness then picked up an injury he should come good though. If we can sign DJ in the summer him and Matt should be a force together thats the hope anyway for next season and some decent wing backs. And i agree we look like sides just missing something to make them top 7 contenders.

We deserved to win. We scored 2 and should have had more but I dont see the point in saying the opposition are worse than they are. Rochdale were better than teams we have lost to. How is that bigging them up?

Someone is going to steal the little no 7 from them and with better players around him he will be a threat in this league.

Askey has came in and we have picked up decent results to be fair. Just too little too late with Crawley finding form in line with their games in hand they had over us.

Think it’s pretty much game over now unfortunately
Still head up. You play us on Saturday

On top for 70 minutes,really?
First half was even, as we cancelled each other out.
You bossed the first part of the 2nd half & duly scored with your only shot on target, while we had the better of the last 20 minutes & were unlucky not to get 3.

The nucleus of the squad should challenge for the top 7 in the NL with Askey in charge but I'm not sure if I have the appetite to bother at a non league Pools again. Especially as I reckon Raj will fuck it up and pull the plug come November following a series of poor results, culminating in a depressing Tuesday night home defeat off Ebbsfleet.
I was going to pick & choose my games if we went down to the NL,but if Askey is still here & we play like we have been,I’ll probably go to all the games.
I’m sure I read that Askey signed a 18 month deal,I bloody hope so,the improvement in performance’s is quite remarkable.
We‘ll have the spine of a decent team & I’m confident that Askey will bring in the players required to have a good season.

The biggest mistake Sutton did was try to slow the game down from about the 3rd minute, If they went for it and shown a bit of ambition instead of trying to make sure the ball is mostly out of play I reckon they win comfortably.

Yeah you'll be fine under Askey down there. I'd agree with Soup Ladle that your current side (not sure who is contracted and who isn't though) with Askey and the additions he'll bring will get you into the playoffs. If both Notts and Wrexham go up then Chesterfield will almost certainly throw the kitchen sink at it but I can't see them not having some kind of drama/meltdown again. I think it's wide open if the top two this season get promoted.

Hopefully though this conversation is irrelevant though and you're still in this division next season. We need to do you a solid on Tuesday though, if Crawley beat us it's not looking good is it?

If Crawley beat Grimsby! Have we ever beaten you? In our best ever season you took four points from the two games.

Grimsby and Port Vale always seem to turn us over.

It was never officially confirmed by the club but I'm sure I heard him on a Radio Tees interview confirming it was 18 months, really impressed with Askey, if we go down (which is looking increasingly likely) I'd fancy us to do well next season under him.

We were jammy as fuck in both those games too got absolutely battered both games but somehow won 1-0 and drew 0-0.
You definitely beat us once though I remember Bogle scored a 25 yarder in injury time as a consolation in a 3-2 defeat.

I think if Crawley beat Grimsby Tuesday it all but confirms it. Barring some monumental collapse from Colchester or something

Askey is the perfect man for the job in the Vanarama, what he did with Macc was a miracle

Crawleys game in hand is obviously important, but basically you need to win 4 of your remaining 8 games to give yourselves hope, which on yesterdays evidence you should be able to do.

Having said that, you can probably only afford 2 more defeats.........all teams pick up/drop points.

You must be confusing us with someone else mate, you've beaten us four times out of six at your place! You've not won at BP though to be fair.

I get what you’re saying, but despite the fact performances have improved we have only won 6 games all season if I’m not wrong.

So 4 out of final 8 seems a bit of a stretch unfortunately. I hope I’m wrong and you never know.

Definitely don’t feel as deflated for next season if Askey is around though what we have seen in a short turnaround is night and day from the rest of the season

Excellent shithousing from Sutton so far, in particular to their #4 who recklessly went through and elbowed Harbottle, who had to go off injured, he decided to be injured himself, physio placed a bandage on him to make it look legitimate then he instantly took it off once the game resumed.
The head clash can be seen via the link below.

Reading the Carlisle forum it seems that very few of them noticed how good our form, particularly at home, has been. They've obviously just glanced at the table and decided that anything other than a comfortable win would be a disaster for them. I can only hope our remaining opponents think along similar lines as our momentum at home is fantastic at the moment and hopefully will carry over into next season if we finish well.

Next target is the top half - just 7 points to make up! That mid-table cup is ours for the taking.
