So we've started great, 3 wins, all of which 2-0.

Ward has been particularly effective in sureing the defence a little and Chambers operating at RB appears to be working this time around, but he'll come up against tougher challenges throughout the season.

Winning effective with a combination of solid defence, taking our chances and pure shithousery.
Yep spot on.
Thought we were well worth the 3 points today, blackpool played some nice stuff at times but were toothless up front and dint really test Bonham until 10 mins left by which time we had sat back.

The work off the ball today from gills was excellent.

Nice to finally have a striker who knows where the goal is.

I didn't watch it today but apparently it was Hull from the Championship against The Cobblers from League Two and 2-0 flattered us.
Pretty sure the Sky reporter described the first half as 'disgusting'!

Couldn’t be more correct, wouldn’t be surprised if we did a Wycombe (if the season actually does get to finish).

What’s going on down at Brizzle?
Has their manager even made it to a handful of wins yet? He must have been there for the equivalent of half a season or so by now.

1-1 was a fair result. Salop dominated for the first twenty minutes and deserved their lead. Grant then got the equaliser from a similar position to the cracker he got last week, just outside the box on his left peg. We probably had the better chances from then on and could have taken the lead a few times, including right at the end. Sarkic did a great double save until he unfortunately had to go off later. Looked like he did something to his leg, which may be serious injury.

Salop did what several sides will do which is press us high, took us a good half hour to work a way to get the ball up to to the front without hoofing it.
I liked the look of Fosse, though you wonder if he might over commit and leave a big hole behind him if he loses possession. Not sure any of our players held up their hand to be MOM.

2 wins from 20! Dead man walking, I reckon. Be hard to attract a new man with no window to work with, though. So either piss or get off the pot.

I'll be honest I'm fearing a hiding at Posh but winning both home games has taken the pressure off somewhat. Expect a lot of goals with us coming off worse.

Got some real class going forward, defence and keeper are of considerable concern for me so far!

Fair point, Crewe were half decent if toothless
You won’t be surprised to hear Crewe missed around 5 sitters yesterday. And that’s not an exaggeration.

Half expecting / hoping to hear that we'd "parted company with Kenny Jackett by mutual consent" this morning but nothing yet. By all accounts the most striking thing about us yesterday was the lack of effort from the players, who look disinterested.

It's starting to look like the club's decision to keep things as they were through these difficult times may have backfired badly. Four seasons is a long time to stick with a manager who has failed to win promotion while having a financial advantage over most clubs.

Agree about your defence. Stats show both teams yesterday had about 15 shots. For Ipswich two were scored, another hit the woodwork and about three more forced saves. Apart from one put wide at full stretch, all ours were from distance, but only a couple needed the goalie to do anything - the rest being blocked or going wide. There are (obviously) better teams than Dale in L1, but I think a lot will struggle to break Ipswich down in the same way. However, we'll see what happens when you play Gills or Swindon - two teams who've started well...

Ref has obviously got a oner on Lincoln.

Dominated for 45 minutes, soft penalty and blatant offside from the rebound.

Crewe and MK’s xG for yesterday. Sometimes I think the bedroom statisticians need to look for another hobby.

Definitely offside, I have to say your first half performance is making how we played against you look even better.

Shocking decision, shocking.

Not to take anything from you as you played well but we were dreadful last week, much improved this. Gives me cause for a bit more optimism for the season if we can now get the 5 or 6 players we need.

Wouldnt read too much into that as every side is far better at the moment

I can, there is still a lot of room for improvement and still a couple of new faces to come in but there has been improvement in each game. Despite the score line Big Darren wasn’t happy he’s challenged them to become more ruthless.

2-0 against Charlton, 9 points after 3 games, another clean sheet, another goal for Montsma.

Not sure too many Imps fans saw that at the start of the season but I'll take that start any day.

Need players desperately.

It is a long season- reminds me of Rotherham away last season (2nd game of the season for us). Championship team who had come down, played really slick football but we won 2-0.

Rotherham ended up promoted at season end!

Yep, we look a much better team than last season though. Predicted us to finish around mid table this time around. It would still be our target even this early, but it has been a fantastic start. 4 goals from Montsma already, him and Jackson look a decent pairing.

Looked like the Charlton defender knocked it back to Grant rather than Anderson so the correct decision.

Interesting bench for us today - 1 GK and 6 attackers!

Definitely off the Lincoln player and offside, officials even admitted to Bowyer they basically guessed. Appalling decision.

Irrelevant anyway, it’s not the reason we lost. We lost because we didn’t take our chances first half and offered nothing second half.

I think you should look at it again. It’s hard to tell if it comes off your or our player. If you don’t know you cannot rule out a goal anyway?

I agree you lost because you didn’t take the chances you had when in good opportunities in the first half. We bossed most of the second half without really being troubled and the second goal was the icing on the cake.

Charlton by far the better side first half. Many chances but a mixture of poor finishing and great defending helped keep us in it. Goal definitely seemed offside.

Fully expected Charlton to get back into it 2nd half, but much more comfortable after the break. Dont think Palmer was tested 2nd half?

We didnt offer too much threat going forward but we looked solid. The defending was top notch. I thought the new signing looked very promising when he came on. Think Bridcutt is so vital to us this season. How we managed to secure him permanently i dont know. Such a calm head, its great to watch him control middle of the park.

Seen it several times and comes off your bloke every time. Linesman didn’t know because he wasn’t even in line with it - not that that should matter as it’s clear as day to anyone with eyes he was at least 2 or 3 yards offside, just poor all round.

Surprised but delighted to see us win, thought Charlton with their positive off field news and on field additions would cause us more issues particularly as we only played Liverpool on Thursday night, however it was us who finished the stronger.

Washington should have scored but under the cosh we dug on and showed some real resilience, another tick for this young side. Replay on Grants goal looks like it came off the defender so good refereeing.

Second half Charlton went long and didn't have any real sustained pressure, Montsma with a free header from a corner to seal it, shocking defending. Great 3 points and nice to have a week off, not sure where Bowyer got the diving stuff from? It was Pratley trying to ref the game.

Need to try and get another bigger body striker in, seems we may have to let 1 or 2 go but other than Adebayo Smith I don't think we have the numbers to let anyone else go especially with the injuries we already have.

On to Blackpool away!

Let’s get one thing straight. It’s not clear either way who it came off. It never ceases to amaze me how biased football fans are when watching things that happen right in front of their eyes. I have seen the replay several times and genuinely have no idea who it came off, because the camera angle makes it impossible to tell.
Unless someone has seen another angle?

Not biased at all, just watched it again and clear as day comes off the Lincoln player last and notice there's a few players not even celebrating

There are numerous Lincoln fans on social media saying it was offside.

It was offside, Lincoln got away with one no matter how anyone tries to dress it up but again as said before, we didn't do enough second half to warrant anything from the game, doesn't make it an less a bad decision.

Not that it matters now but it's not clear as day at all. It's about as much of inconclusive touch as you're likely to come across. The Charlton defender gets in front Anderson and the pace of the ball would suggest it couldn't have moved at that speed off Anderson's right thigh, which was the only place it could have done if you freeze it (not my image and I'm not one for freeze frames, but still...). But there's no conclusive angle.

You can argue either way with it, and both sets of fans are calling it either way, which shows how inconclusive it is. Certainly not as clear cut as the Charlton Twitter feed made out from 70 yards away, as though it was Maradona handball proportions of a mistake.
