I can't score for shit. I'm averaging 12 shots on target each game with 1 being on target. Conceding crap goals as well. Fair to say my old tactics which worked well on last years game, aren't working on this years. Very frustrating.
Yeah, the % of shots on target seems to be very very low in this game.

I had a season with a 14 game winning run, a 13 game run without a win, and I still finished 1st on the last day of the season. Completely mad.

Think they've slowly been getting worse since 2012.

I'm playing the full game but I've had to switch to a different format
Biggest bug I've seen is the game getting stuck on the calendar view when simulating when you hit the Windows button to browse whilst in between games. Only way to play is to go windowed mode at the moment. Quite annoying as it was happening everytime.

I wondered if this was my laptop. Same happens if you do it during a game.

Another way to get out of it is to CTR+R to reload the skin. Still, either way it's very annoying and pretty poor.

This just isn't working for me. Not matter who I am, I can't get shots on target. I don't normally say negative things about the match engine but this time I just might. Sucking all fun out of the game for me.

Where are your players shooting from? I have work into the box set and so we don't have many shots but are clinical.

FM games are always pretty shit when they first come out. I've had countless number of red cards, and they've ALL come from 2 yellows. Never one red.

Could be onto something special with Weston. After 37 games, I have finally gone top. I have been around the top 5 since around game 10, and had a hot streak earlier on in the season. Been pretty inconsistent for the rest of it, my defence is absolutely abysmal as I've previously said before, but I am by far and away the top scorers in the division. 3-2's and 4-2's have been a regular in my season, and clean sheets have been a rarity. I've managed to tie 3 or 4 players that I want to keep down to contracts extending until the end of the next season, but my two best players (Plummer, who has just came back from a 7 month injury, and Filipov) aren't remotely interested, and I think unless I get promoted it will be the last I see of them. Financially in shit - had to go a bit over my wage budget to sign some players mid-season due to injuries and lack of cover, and the players I have brought in on the whole have been excellent, it's just whether we can afford to financially maintain them next season without the finances going to pot.

As I said, I've only just gone top, but I've had multiple chances; the best of those being a game in hand away at Truro about a month in game time back, only needed a draw, they hadn't won in 18 - they were 3-0 up after 20 minutes. Ended up 3-2, pretty appalling.

I have a huge advantage other the teams around with my goal difference, and I'm hoping that will prove pivotal. Not sure whether I'm going to be able to maintain this, my in-form striker that I signed mid-season is sidelined for a month. I suppose having to bring Bradley Ash back in isn't such a bad thing, as he is still by far and away the highest scorer in the division, but before I dropped him he couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo. Very wasteful. I'm also playing a LB at LM, as I have my regular LM also sidelined. Didn't even have a left midfielder when I joined the club, and they're in no financial position to accommodate two into the squad.

Final run in now, tough run of games, and I doubt I'll see it through, but it would be magnificent if so. If I do end up in the play-offs, my record this season against the teams around me has been abysmal, so I wouldn't have high hopes.

Setting my full backs to 'defend' rather than 'support' away from home seems to have halted the rot.

Going out of the Europa League also means by best team aren't shattered for every league fixture.

I'm finding it difficult to score and keep clean sheets (good combination...) but not had anything that I'd class as a bug.

5-2-3 with wingbacks worked for me. Stops your CB's being pulled apart so much (bad match engine mechanics) and you just cross it in to the front 3 all day long to abuse the overpowered accurrate crossing (bad match engine mechanics). Don't really want to be forced to play in that manner though.

As expected, I bottled the POs. Lost in the final, 88th minute goal. The irony in it all is that the striker who scored it I had been attempting to sign all season, but he turned me down due to wages.

Frustrating, and I've received an offer...

Got a good Sassuolo game going at the moment (for some reason they've become a favourite of mine), spent the whole budget on a forward who was out for the season by the 3rd game, managed to cobble together enough wage budget to bring in Vlaar and Gourcuff on frees (though neither could play till December) but am 3rd in the league at the moment! Built on a very solid defence, and Defrel (never heard of him before now) is a fantastic poacher in front of goal.

As expected with Weston, I bottled automatic promotion. I lost a couple of games and ended up finishing 3rd, 2 points off 1st position, which I was satisfied with.

Anyway, I went onto play Oxford City in the PO semi's, I drew 1-1 at their place first after withholding some heavy pressure throughout the majority of the game, and then the second leg came around, and I won 4-2 AET. Was a very even match, but bit of a quality in ET seen me through to the final, where I would face Hemel Hampstead.

To cut it short - I lost. In the 90th minute. The irony in it all is the striker that scored the goal to make it 1-2 in the 90th minute, I had been trying to sign for the whole season, but couldn't match his wages, which was hard to take and incredibly frustrating.

I got a job offer from Crewe as shown above, and turned it down. I wanted one more crack with Weston, as I had freed up a lot of the wage bill, cleared out a lot of the deadwood and wanted to build a squad of my own. I managed to get in two central midfielders, a much needed centre back, a left back and a right back, and that was it. The only player I couldn't tie down to a new contract was Filipov, which was inevitably going to happen. He ended up going to a L1 club, which didn't surprise me, because he was that good.

Started the season okay - I've had two clean sheets in 4 games and I'm scoring for fun again. I'm playing a 4-5-1 and I have (without boasting) the 4 best strikers in the league, so rotating them all is going to be a struggle, but they all contribute. I often play one of them in behind as a shadow striker, just for extra gametime, which works. I conceded 4 against Dartford, in a game in where they only had 6 shots, so I won't be too concerned with that, as I kept a clean sheet next game. We're on the up - I think playoffs would be achievable again.

As Miles Jacobson tweeted, the number of injuries in FM is about 75% of real life.

Managed to turn my fortunes around, eventually finishing the season one point off Champions League qualification. Pretty disappointed considering in my final away game I was 1-0 up at Derby with 88 minutes gone, and I ended up losing 2-1. Ah well, still an improvement. Definitely looking to qualify next season.

Injury crisis has seen my Sassuolo team drop from 3rd to 7th. (1 win in 6)

Still only 6 points off the Champions League, but only 9 games to go. Would have been very happy with 7th in my first season at the start, but seems like a wasted chance having been in 3rd for about 20 games.

Got sacked from Leeds in my second season but could barely get any jobs. Took over at USBCO in the French National League and had a good end to the season to finish 6th. Problem is, everyone wants to leave and I'm left with seven senior players when contracts expired and no money.

I've just had a player be turned down for a work permit three years after I signed him. I got a message saying he would be turned down for a work permit after his current contract expires because he hasn't played enough international matches. Is this a new feature or have I just never come across it?

I think that's my worst season ever on FM. Finished 19th in the Conference and my target was mid-table, so I'm hoping I'll get a new deal because I've never been sacked on an FM or CM! That was despite my two strikers getting 20+!

Just couldn't attract anyone of any note to improve a poor squad bar a handful of players. Including the U21's, I think I'll be getting rid of 20 or so.

Instead of wasting a month waiting for a deal to appear, I'm going to request one and see what they say. I'll just start again if I don't get one.

Posted this on the wrong thread for some reason but no, never been sacked. Or relegated.

Every year my first game is always with Gills, just to see how shit FM has made them this year.

Anyway, went unbeaten for the first 12, but only 5 wins in that lot. Stayed top two til Feb, despite cruciate injuries to my two best players keeping them out for the season. Won the JPT, beating Barnsley (who went on to win League One) in the final, only for my board to say they didn't give a toss about the JPT so why did I bother? Towards the end of the season had the inevitable injury crisis, with my first choice CB, CAM, LW and GK all out long term. Struggled through to take 5th place (really should've finished 2nd, fucking Oldham), and had Peterborough over two legs. Lost the home leg 2-1, and in the gap between the legs my other keeper got an injury to put him out as well. Had to put a 17 year old debutant in for the second leg and promptly lost that 3-2. Gutting.

On the plus side, Luke Norris finished top goalscorer, and we were the highest scoring side in the league. Considering we were only meant to avoid relegation we did pretty well. For next season I haven't got a pot to piss in, so it's loans all the way. Chairman Scally has created a link between us and QPR, so that's a couple of easy loans. Can'y see us having as good a season this time unfortunately, but at least FM has made it possible for Gills to be something other than relegation fodder!
