Sounds like you've made some solid additions. Timo Horn is a great keeper; I had to fork out £9 million to get him.

Do you always play that many pre-season games? I never usually do more than 6/7.
Usually manage the first one, and the last one, just to see how my squad shapes up and such mate.

Is everyone liking FM15? Got it recently but have barely played it, and wasn't too keen on the demo either. Not really sure why. I don't like the interface as much and the match engine doesn't seem as good.

Took a two-year break from FM until last year (a long time, I know!) and really enjoyed FM14. Spent many hours on it.

I'm liking FM15.

Recent save I'm on, started at Arsenal 2 decentish years then sack, took over Utd and resigned within a season. Took over Villa who were rock bottom for a different challenge, brought in Lallana, Rhodes and Trindade de Vilhena. With 8 games to go the table looks like:

QPR - 34
West Ham - 33
Hull - 33
Stoke - 30
----------------
Villa - 29

And I don't play any of the teams just above me, Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal though... joys

Some of you may be interesting at some point in having your own FM 'blog' on here to carry your story on. Something were exploring later.

Good - Qualified for the CL. kept hold of my best players

Bad - Dropped to second with four games to go and couldn't claw it back, even with beating Man Utd who finished 1st. Lost in the Europa League Final on penalties. Again.

Wish you'd posted this yesterday! After losing the Levice story on TFF, then getting the text back from an old version, I made a quick and basic site to keep it all on.

First post is up, and I'll stick the rest on one at a time when I have a spare moment.

I've only fucking done it!

Scraped a 1-1 draw in the first leg against United before scoring with my only two shots on target at Old Trafford to win 3-1 on aggregate!

Got to the final, and well...

Where the fuck that came from, I don't know! Performance of the fucking season, fantastic!

Best season (well, half I suppose) I've had on FM for a long time.

Why aren't you in the Champions League?

Because it's FM 14 and Europa League champions don't qualify for the Champions League on 14 as that rule/prize wasn't announced when 14 was made.

Now, much as I love the sites and sounds of the wonderful Watford, with their big yellow and black stadium and all, when Rafa Benitez was sacked from his job in the fantastic city of Hamburg, I just had to go...

Say hello to the new manager of Hamburger Sport-Verein. How the hell the fat waiter had this squad sat in 16th place (after finishing 15th the previous season I may add) is beyond me. Bring on the challenge of my 4th club in as many years. At least Watford is the one club so far that I've left on good terms with.

I finished 4th again with Spurs in my second season. We were up for the title until the last 10 games but we dropped off. Two seasons in a row my forms dropped towards the end of the season.

We did much better than last season though, earning 12 more points and scoring a lot more goals.

In the champions league I beat Barcelona 1-0 at home only to lose the second leg 5-1 in the first knockout stage. We got through a tough group of Munich and PSG so that was a bit gutting.

We also got to another cup semi final this time losing to Reading 1-0 in the FA Cup. So typical Spurs really!

Benteke returned a decent amount of 15 in the league and Kane scored 8 in 15 when he returned from loan. Rodrigo Gomez who I signed for 3.5m returned 10 goals and a number of assists from the RW which was a good start to his career.

Another striker and DM are the priority this summer.

Time for my update with my newest FM save. I asked in the shoutbox who I should start with. I got a few recommendations but I ended up going with Accrington Stanley.

Had a super first season. Got close to a playoff spot, but we threw it away in march and then the other teams just began to get away.

Here was the table. We finished 10th. I couldn't exactly "shock" the league by getting promoted, but we overachieved regardless.

Bottom three were Wycombe, Northampton, and Plymouth. No idea how Plymouth finished last.

We got 3 very notable results this season. Two 7-0 away wins to Carlisle and Exeter, and an FA Cup away win against Millwall 2-0. We got Wigan Athletic in the cup and lost 4-1. We still got 4300 people in the stadium though!

Here are my results last season

Sky Bet League 2

FA Cup

I simulated the JPT and the League Cup, because I didn't care about either. I care about the JPT a little more this season after we beat Notts County, as its nice to have a winnable trophy around before we get promoted to the Championship making it no longer available for us. I played the FA Cup matches though. Not sure how Braintree gave us so much trouble, but we went through in the end, and as I said earlier, we had a fantastic win over Millwall away.

And lastly here were my transfers last season.

Just got players from the trial day, and both of them were great. Especially Thalassitis.

And this season

eb43e8e757b443998cc2dab412c9548b.png

Stuart Begg and Angus Miller are both regens. I got Begg on a free after being released from Notts County and I got Angus Miller from Partick Thisle for 41.5k. Pretty satisfied with the transfer window. Sadly Thalassitis had to go, but I couldn't resist after they offered me 127k. Came out as 88k in the end it seems.

I don't have FM15 but I play FM14 a lot. Currently on my 4th season with Chesterfield in the Championship after winning league 2 in my first season then spending 2 seasons in League 1 before getting promoted via the playoffs.

im still on my challenge ( for two real life years) to win all six continental champions leagues. after 80 seasons ive won 4 of them.

Copa Liberatodores ( with Millionarios / Colombia) 1x in eleven years
UEFA Champions League ( Sparta Rotterdam / Netherlands) 1x in 24 years
CAF Champions League ( Al-Ahly Cairo / Egypt) 4x in seven years
CONCACAF Champions League (Saprissa / Costa Rica) 1x in seven years

i was also in charge of AIK from sweden for about 20 years but never managed to win the CL. reached the semi three times but thats it and had a very unsuccessful time at Landskrona in sweden for two years. only job where they sacked me.

atm im in charge of Bejing Gu'an to win the 5th. the Oceanian should be very easy to win with only having new zealand playable

Finally got myself into a game on 15, went on holiday for a season & ended up going with Chesterfield in League 1, who have a media prediction of 17th.

I joined the club just after the transfer window had opened so they'd already brought in 3 players, striker Shaun Batt from Orient, centre midfielder Andrew Tutte from Bury & winger Sergei Zenjov from Blackpool (all free transfers)

I only made 5 signings myself:

Bradley Orr - RB - Free transfer
Mikey Drennan - AMR/ST - Free Transfer
Roger Riera - DC - Season long loan from Nottingham Forest
Charlie Taylor - LB - Season long loan from Leeds
Remi Matthews - GK - 2 month loan from Norwich

Orr has played every game so far & has been very consistent, Drennan has a couple of goals to his name already but is out injured at the minute, Riera hasn't broken into the side just yet, but is very decent for League 1 level, Taylor is now first choice LB ahead of Dan Jones, & Remi Matthews was a last minute signing due to Tommy Lee getting injured for a month, he was the best of a bad bunch on the loan list but has been very good so far.

The season has started much better than I expected, after 8 games we've won 5, drawn 2 & lost 1. We are 1 of 4 teams on 17 points. We lost heavily in the first round of the Carling Cup 6-1 away to Derby, I have a feeling I may have gone to attacking in that particular game.

Our next game is away to currently leaders (on GD) Leyton Orient, a point wouldn't be a bad result as they've only conceded 2 goals so far.

It's 2023 in Grimsby and we've finished 4th in the PL, qualifying for the CL.

Made some stunning signings for barely anything in the summer, including a Chilean wonderkid who I picked up for £2m, 18 years old, first season and he scores 34 goals in 32 games! Problem is he has a £13m release clause, but he's unhappy with the lack of first team football so won't negotiate a new contract. This is despite the fact he only missed games when out for 6 weeks injured.

So in post season, I've got 4 of my best players all wanting to leave because 'teams want them who play in the Europa League'?! I've had an ultimatum from the board to keep the players happy. My squad all fucking hate me for not selling players who aren't having offers in on them. :dk:

This fucking game.

@Mente: Good job…did you deliberately decide to make it harder by going for obscure teams? Just AIK and Sparta Rotterdam don't seem the easiest choices for winning the CL..

@FoG: Sounds pretty good - I had Drennan for a bit with Torquay last season in L2, he's pretty good for a back up.

Yeah he's only back up for me aswell, behind Batt & Doyle. But at 21 he's got very good potential, 3.5 - 4.5 stars so he's definitely one for the future.

Just lost 3-1 to Orient, their first goal was a cock up between my defender & keeper, we pulled it back to 1-1 before half-time & then had a goal ruled out for offside, 2nd half they came out flying with 2 goals in the first 15 minutes, the final goal being a 30 yard belter from Lloyd James. Not too disappointed as it was always going to be a tough game. Away to Crewe next who are 12th.

@Captus Winning the Copa Libertadores with Millonarios is impressive. The only 2 teams at the moment that have the level to win it are Santa Fe and Atletico Nacional.

Surely you won the UCL with Sparta years into the future.

yeah, i wanted to win the cups mostly with clubs from smaller leagues. i reached often the point to give it up with Sparta. what for fucking groups i always had....i can remember after we qualified for the first time we drew Bayern, Inter and Real.

two ties i will never forget from the later years, where on of it was vs PSG in the QF. after losing 0:4 in Paris weve won 5:0 at home and the up-and-down vs Barca in the second leg (0:4, 6:2) were i went out on away goal rule

My lads...

I started unemployed, holidayed until January 2019, and took the first job I got. Bradford Park Avenue in the Vanarama North, 20th and heading down.

Lost the first three games, then beat 2nd placed Alfreton 3-2, and drew 0-0 away to 3rd placed Nuneaton and 1-1 away to 21st placed Gainsborough. I don't really know what I'm doing but we're out of the relegation zone. I think this could be the beginning of something special.

FM15... Holidayed the first season. There's 4 newly promoted teams to choose from, Levice are one of them... Levice or Nova Spisska Ves (I have been there and it is a massive castle) - that is the question?
