GET. THE. FUCK. IN.

Won 5 - 4 on penalties after Juan Mata bottled it on spot kick number 4. I reckon this ranks as one of my best achievements on FM, considering it's the first season and I've not really made many changes to the team that I started with. Also managed to finish 10th in the league. Was joint on points all the way down to 13th, but a final day away win at Newcastle meant I scraped into 10th on goal difference.

Bring on the second season relegation battle.

Well this is fucking bonkers.

As I take control of the club, I'm dealing with a midtable squad. There are 2 or 3 honourable exceptions, particularly defensive midfielder Peter Cavanagh who's had a long Football League career and Damian Reeves who's got 15 for finishing. Probably the best finisher in the entire division. I have no money to spend, but I do manage to bring in 3 really good loan signings. Will Aimson is a really promising young centre-half from Hull. Jamie Frost is a tricky winger/striker from Burnley. And Jack Ryan is a handy strike from Preston to provide back-up for Reeves.

We did nothing in either the FA Cup or the FA Trophy. Quite possibly due to my ill-judged team talks. I dunno.

But in the league...a mixture of good luck with injuries and the loan signings all having storming seasons meant I massively overachieved. Finished 3rd and still had a chance of winning the league going into the last day. A brilliant effort.

We draw Eastleigh in the playoff semi final. A hard fought 0-1 win at their place was followed by a nervous 0-0 draw at Moss Lane, putting us into the final against Forest Green.

The final was possibly the most stressful FM match of all time. A crazy game that went back and forth finished 5-5 after normal time. We fought back to level up at 5-5 in the 75th minute. Then it was 6-6 AET after Forest Green scored in the 116th minute to level things up.

On we went to penalties and my lads kept their nerve magnificently. Scored 5 out of 5 to win 5-3 on pens. Up to L2 we go in our first season!

The crowd for the final was 38,000 which has given me a little bit of cash to attract some decent free transfers this summer. Great stuff :D

Altrincham 2015/16

Before the season started my small pot of cash was more or less eaten up by having to convert Moss Lane terracing into seating. Bit of a kick in the balls.

I didn't make many permanent signings. Couple of captures of players that were tearing it up in the lower levels of Non-League. Looking at the squad I knew there was little chance that my players, the bulk of whom had upset the odds to get to this level, were good enough to stay there. I decided to ask the board to look for a feeder club in the hope loan players could be the answer. They recommended four clubs and I decided Wolves was the best option.

I got 4 good players from them and a handful from other clubs, the best of whom was Ged Oldnall, a young striker from West Brom who managed to bag a respectable total of 14 league goals.

In the end I finished 21st - 12 points clear of relegation. Perfectly happy with that. Just staying clear of the drop was all that was required from this season.

That said, the FA Cup (out in Round 1) and JPT (out in Round 2) performances were a bit disappointing. Hoping to improve next season along with progress in the league.

Ok, so my save miraculously deleted itself completely from my laptop :(. 150 hours since September and now I don't even my virtual achievements to show for it.

I invite everyone (or anyone) to say a few words about this tragic loss.

Seems stupid really - but have you checked your recycling bin, and searched your PC?

If so - I hope the old girl rests peacefully, and what a shame to the end of such a beautiful thing.

Just started with Maidenhead United in the Conference South, got some decent pace out wide and up top so going to try a counter attacking style 4-5-1 with a holding midfielder and two attacking wingers either side of the striker. Won 4/5 of my first pre-season games but not looked convincing at all, struggling with injuries at the moment only one fit centre back, and my midfield is cluttered with ball winning central midfielders. At this level what is the recommended midfield partnership? I tend to go with a box to box midfielder with either an advanced playmaker/deep lying playmaker, then a ball wining midfielder on defend sitting behind them.

Signed Thomas Carroll on a free and Saido Berahinho for 7.5m in the off season, made a poor start to the season though losing away at Stoke 2-1, a 0-0 at home with Norwich and a penalty shootout win at Charlton.

My first eleven and majority of the subs are all english, I'm in desperate need of a new LB and Ben Mee isn't good enough for where I wanna get to with Burnley. The only alternatives are Jack Robinson who I've scouted alot but for the 6-7m fee is he really going to be that much better and Ryan Bertrand who would cost even more.

Started the season off with Maidenhead United now, finished pre-season with a cracking 2-1 win over Conference Premier Aldershot Town. Managed to sign two centre backs, Fitzimmons from Luton on loan and Durran Reynolds from Cambridge City on a free, as well as two defensive midfielders on free transfers to add some squad depth, an injury to DJ Campbell means I've had to dip into the loan market again and signed Giuseppe Sole from Woking on a 3 month deal.

Started the season playing my counter attacking system, it has worked quite well away from home but at home it's not quite had the same impact, I also might have made a mistake by making the pitch the shortest it could be and the widest it could be, thought this would help us exploit our width.

Maidenhead United 1-1 Sutton United
Bishops Stortford 3-1 Maidenhead United
Gosport Borough 0-3 Maidenhead United
Maidenhead United 0-0 Hemel Hempstead
Bromley 1-4 Maidenhead United

Currently sat 7th in the league 1 point off the play offs, been a good start considering we're only expected to finish top half, injuries are a nightmare though and I must get at least 1 a game, the club wont allow me to hire a physio and half the players are still not match fit. Finances are looking bad, expected to be £200,000 in debt by the end of the season, desperate for a good cup run.

Putting together a brilliant run here, shot up the league and after 9 games sat in 2nd. Still using the counter attack away from home, but moved onto a more control method for the home games. Giuseppe Sole has been excellent, as have all the signings I've made.

Maidenhead United 1-1 Eastbourne Boro
Staines Town 1-2 Maidenhead United
Maidenhead United 6-2 Farnborough
St Albans 1-4 Maidenhead United

Scoring goals for fun at the minute, loving it.

Completed the first season of my Gibraltar save on FM14. Did the double with the Division 2 title as well as the Division 2 League Cup meaning we've reached the promised land of Premier Division football! Our staggering amount of games in hand over the course of the season due to the randomness of the fixture list contributed to our success as we gradually chipped away at Lions Pilots who spent most of the season top.

Onward to season two where we will play considerably less fixtures due to the 8 team league only playing 2 rounds as opposed to the 12 teams playing 2 rounds of our previous level.

Jumped ship from Stockport, earlier than I normally would with them mid-table in L1, to join bottom of L2 MK Dons.

Not had a proper look round them yet, but no doubt it'll be the usual problems.

Played through till the back end of October now and we are still unbeaten since the 2nd game of the season, a 13 game streak which is a club record. Sat 2nd in the league 5 points off top spot who sadly have a game in hand, but we have a 7 point cushion on the team in 6th, with what I've had to manage with we are massively overachieving. Finances looking better, got through two FA Cup qualifying rounds, one tie was at home which saw a big crowd of 1000 turn out to watch, nice little cash booster as we average 420 a game. Now only expected to be 120,000 in debt at the end of the season, and that could get even better if we can beat Aldershot Town in the final qualifying round away. Quietly confident as we've already beaten them once in pre-season. Bid to keep the two loanees till the end of the season, Fitswilliams and Sole.

Maidenhead United 2-1 Havant & Waterloovile
Metropolitan Police 0-2 Maidenhead United (FA Cup 2nd qualifying round)
Whitehawk 1-1 Maidenhead United
Maidenhead United 1-0 Weston Super Mare
Maidenhead United 4-1 Kingstonian (FA Cup 3rd qualifying round)
Concord Rangers 0-0 Maidenhead United

Having a very strange game at the moment. I moved from Aberdeen to Edinburgh last weekend - now living a few minutes walk away from Tynecastle, so I started a game with Hearts to get acquainted with their squad. I've played two seasons - got promoted in the first season and won a domestic treble in the second season.

Played the first season as normal and beat Hibs and Rangers to win the Championship. Then the quality and quantity of loanees I was able to sign from the Premiership took over. I ended up with 13 loan players (1 defender and 12 midfielders and forwards) which meant I had the entire wage budget to fill 2 goalkeepers and 5 defenders. Moved quite a lot of that into a transfer budget and signed my fantasy SPL back 4 of Graeme Shinnie (Inverness, £900k) - Danny Wilson (already at Hearts) - Josh Meekings (Inverness, £350k) and Ziggy Gordon (Hamilton, £800k). Lee Nicholls came in on a free transfer from Wigan to play in goal. Yannick Sabo and Yaya Sanogo were first choice strikers and scored a fair few between them.

Feeling a bit empty with this save now. Celtic finished 4th with 68 points and I beat them in both cup finals. There's nothing left to achieve and I only won these trophies because of unrealistic loanees. Don't think I'll take it any further.

Altrincham 2016/17

Bit of a strange season. Once again I found it hard to attract players. I scoured all L1 and L2 clubs' recently released players and managed to pick up one or two decent players. Colin Daniel was probably the best - tricky left winger from Port Vale.

I also got some promising youngsters through the summer triallist games. Josh Smile who'd been released from Fulham was the best of them.

I then packed the squad full of the best loanees I could find, including a few from Wolves as they're still our parent club.

Anyway, I got knocked out of the JPT in the 1st Round at Bury after playing mostly reserves. I made it to the 2nd Round of the League Cup by beating Fleetwood, before getting raped 7-1 by Crystal Palace. Also made the 2nd Round of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win over Conference side Eastbourne, but was beaten in the 2nd Round by L1 Notts County. 2-0. It was comfortable for them in all honesty.

In the league we put up a good show for the most part. Plenty of progress since last season. We were in with a sniff of the playoffs until well into the new year, but a bit of an injury crisis really hurt us at the end. We didn't win any of our last 10 games which saw us drop right down to 19th. Still an improvement on last season but a bit disappointing after where we were.

Still, progress is progress. Hoping we can get a couple of good free transfers and have a bit more luck so that we can make the playoffs next season.

Wrapped up the League One title with 3 games to spare. Two titles in three years is extremely good going (for me) & I'm so happy I didn't lose the save.

We were dominant, more so in the first half of the season and were 12 points clear of 2nd at Christmas. We've held that distance for the whole second half, barring a small blip in January.

What a super season, to be honest. Probably one of my best ever in the lower leagues.

Up with MK Dons.

Bored with this career save now, tbf. Can't even remember how many teams I've been, 7 or 8 I think, but my usual games have always been long term ones, which I might get back to or even resume my Lincoln save.

Season 2: League One Winners
Season 3: Championship 5th - Playoffs

3-3 draw with Leeds at home. Then Lost 3-2 away AET..was 2-1 up in normal time at 91 minutes....

Signed two fullbacks for £45m, and spent £30m on a left winger. Throwing everything at it this summer.

Drew the first game 5-5 at Nottingham Forest. FML, I've plateaued.
So, to precis the season. We went to QPR, 18th and needing a win to avoid the drop, requiring just a point to secure the title. EASY.

Had two players sent off and held on for an absolutely agonising 0-0 draw. Woohoo!

Then we beat Barcelona 4-2 in the Champions League final.

Fancy another long term game, but in the Championship or Prem.

Thinking Brighton at the minute with the new Stadium and facilities, then again, might go with a Club I can build up / get back to being half decent i.e. Villa or Newcastle.

Decided to go with the majority of the side that got us promoted. May work but may also backfire. Added one player so far, Louis Thompson from old club Wrexham. He'll come in and replace Kristoffer Olsson, who's gone to Wolves for £350,000.

I feel this year could be my last at Blackpool now - I've done what I wanted to do, and feel I need a move now to make the step up into the PL. There's some big clubs in the Championship (Villa, Newcastle etc) so if I can try and get one of them I will.

The last month or so have been frustrating for me, injuries have been mounting up,and we've dropped a few silly points at home because of it. Positives are that we managed to reach the FA Cup 1st round after winning in the final qualifying round at Conference Premier Aldershot, drew Chesterfield away in the 1st round, went in front and pushed them all the way before they scored 2 late goals to win 2-1. Earned altogether through our cup run somewhere in the region of £50,000 which has helped us out massively. Still sat 3rd in the league so in a strong position, Bishop's Stortford are running away with it at the top surprisingly. Managed to resign Danny Fitzimmons and Giuseppe Sole on loan deals until the end of the season.

Aldershot Town 0-1 Maidenhead United (FA Cup 4th qualifying round)
Maidenhead United 1-1 Staines Town
Wealdstone United 0-0 Maidenhead United
Chesterfield 2-1 Maidenhead United (FA Cup 1st Round)
Boreham Wood 3-0 Maidenhead United
Bath City 0-0 Maidenhead United
Maidenhead United 2-0 Basingstoke Town

Had this a while but only started playing it proper for a month or so. Been a few teams and couldn't win for shit, was on the verge of jacking it in but thought I'd have a bash with Swans. First season, I've somehow finished 4th in the league and won the FA cup. I'm now the greatest manager in the history of the club. It's also nearly 4am and I need to go to bed.
