Still no Cuthbert but our defence haven't been too bad despite his absence, in fact Mullins has impressed me alongside Sheehan. A very different game this Saturday against a team I know very little about. Their position in the league would suggest we should have the upper hand and unlike Barnet and Crawley, two other sides down there,FGR like to play football which I think may suit us a bit more. We can struggle with defence minded physical team who punt the ball forward at every opportunity. Lets hope FGR want to make a game of it.
Cornick back in the squad which gives us options up front. Expect the same team we played against County with changes made during the game. The major decision will be whether to play Elliot or Collins alongside Hylton. Either will do but it would be unfair on Elliot if he was to lose his place. I've predicted a 3-1 win mainly due to the fact that FGR will not be full strenght whereas we have more a less a full squad to choose from with healthy competition for places. Confidence is still high as well.
Not expecting a sell out for our fans for this game but still should take a fair few. The Xmas fixtures and Newcastle away are having more of an effect on people wallets than a trip to Gloucestershire in freezing condition standing on a small side terrace. Don't understand why away fans aren't given the covered end. It doesn't seem to be hugely populated by home fans.

Luton have to be big favourites here, although FGR have been improving in recent weeks. A few weeks ago, I was looking for the reverse of this fixture for a chance for Luton to break the scoreboard and hit double figures.

FGR having taken Exeter to extra time midweek, whilst Luton had the week off; they're bound to be a bit more leggy especially with their smallish squad.

on paper this looks a given...but most of us Lutoners know otherwise!!
going into the depths of glarstershear on a david v goliath scenario i reckon wont be as easy as it should be...
i picture a stereotypical image of a dungaree wearing in-bred banjo playing hick in a rocking chair playing "yankee doodah went to town riding on a pony" waiting to greet us outside the local boozer...

No I'll correct you, we had been improving, we're starting to go on a down ward slope atm. With two of our best players injured in Osborne and Traore. Will have bennet and fitzwater back at least! I think we'll fight Luton all the way as we always at least show commitment and effort but sadly fall short. 3-1 Luton.

Surely this isn't the first time you been down here? We played you enough times in the Conference.

Even beat you 3-0 once. :bdick:

Cor, and there was me thinking that we were the only club who have brainless idiots abusing their own players....but fair play to the Luton fans who applauded the Rovers players off the pitch at the end.

I go to the game tomorrow more in hope than expectation, a point would be wonderful, hopefully we will give Luton a decent game.

iFollow fine for me. FGR like to play it around the back four and keeper. Nearly nicked it twice already

We'll present you at least three big chances if the season so far is anything to go by. Lad on loan from Chelsea in goal is a good shot stopper but young and distribution sometimes wayward.

FGR look about as good as anyone we've played so far. How are you bottom 2?

Can’t say Luton have really got out of second gear in this game yet.

Was that a red card? He seemed to win the ball there?

There has been some odd decisions in this game.
