This was my original post. I didn't say anything about any of you Luton posters until oakroader et al decided to start mocking me.

What isn't on though is how rude your being to someone with a different opinion to you all. Go and read through at all the responses I've gotten. Attack the post, not the poster.

You really are deluded if you think you are the innocent victim here. Your first post in the thread included a derogatory comment about Luton as a team. You were the first person in the thread to start attacking the poster rather than the posts:

But I know you and 99% of the other Luton fans on here are too bias/pig-headed to attempt to understand

Your attempts to spin this are almost as funny as your apparently 100% serious stance that a team down to 10 men shouldn't celebrate a crucial match-winning goal in case they hurt someone's feelings.

People are rude to you because you've waded into a thread full of Luton fans and had a pop at Luton as a team and then all of said Luton fans. But please continue to act surprised that the nasty Luton lot are being mean :pmsl:

Yeah I could have worded it better and said 'celebrate as much'. I wouldn't expect them to go off solemnly - and it should have been obvious that I wouldn't have been expecting them to either, that would have been a ridiculous thing to say. However I maintain that you really don't often see teams celebrate goals in those circumstances as much as Luton did - everyone has their own opinions and obviously none of your fans will ever see anything wrong with it, but it was a bit much. I maintain - you don't see much made of a direct GK goal, or when a goal is scored direct from a GK mistake (e.g. Paul Robinson). In my eyes it was disrespectful.

What isn't on though is how rude your being to someone with a different opinion to you all. Go and read through at all the responses I've gotten. Attack the post, not the poster.
Urban...this is a democracy... you are entitled to your opinion...I myself have been vilified by other Luton fans for having a different opinion to others... but if you post something incidery expect a backlash from those who you offend...and take responsibility for your posts... not try and blame those who hold dear their own impression of their players...
Play with fire.....

Let’s put aside your issues with Luton and Hylton for one minute.
He's the most hated player in League 2 with good reason for his blatent diving if an opposition player gets close to him and farts making him dive without contact to the floor. We call him DDH (Diving Danny Hylton) from his previous clubs where he's always had a reputation for having weak legs but would get a 9.5 from diving commentators.

Why are you lying? There are 4 posts after mine that take the piss in some measure rather than argue what I was saying. See, yor attitude here is exactly what I mean. You're more happy with taking the piss out of me as a poster rather than argue what I said. You're now trying to spin this as me being in the wrong when really all I did *originally* was make a comment that fans of your team would find controversial.

Rich coming from you where you've spent more time swearing and insulting me than anything else.

But I understand the sentiment underneath everything else.

I think us Luton fans are well aware how unpopular Hylton is. He does do stupid shit. His half pitch length sprint and knee slide right in front of Forde after Ollie Lee's wonder 70yard strike by far the worst thing he has done for me. I'd have slapped him if I was the keeper. Was a really nasty move. He's annoying and a dick. But he's our annoying dick. We love him. He's prob the most effective player in the league

Just watched the red card back for the first time - it was 100% a red card.

Horse shit. The posts are there for anyone who cares to read, but no-one insulted you as a poster until you called all Luton fans "biased and pig-headed" because they didn't agree with your ridiculous point (which has been disagreed with by fans of quite a few "neutral" clubs at this point).

See, yor attitude here is exactly what I mean. You're more happy with taking the piss out of me as a poster rather than argue what I said.

People did argue against your post. You attracted the piss taking by directly insulting Luton fans. You came looking to start an argument (as you always do when Luton are involved) and you got one... so stop crying about it! Fuck with the bull, get the horns.

You're now trying to spin this as me being in the wrong when really all I did *originally* was make a comment that fans of your team would find controversial.

No, what you did "originally" was express a laughable point while simultaneously being derogatory about Luton in a thread full of Luton fans, then proceeded to insult said Luton fans a few posts later. Then you started whinging about the predictable responses.

Your continued attempts to paint yourself as some kind of innocent victim of the nasty Luton meanies suggests you either have a staggering lack of self-awareness or are in fact trolling. Either way, I've had my fill of it for one evening.

Gosh this has to be one of the funniest FGR threads ever. We hardly got a mention.
What I will say was that the Luton supporters were fantastic, really nice people.
A lot of pleasant banter between the two sets of fans before game.
One of the female Luton fans made me laugh: she spoke aloud that it was unusual not to have mounted police horses at a Luton game.
Another fan said that Luton's reputation was far worse than it should be. I believe her.
And you Luton guys have come over very well on this forum with your fair appraisal of game.
Thanks
I thought we did well with an inexperienced team and had chances to score.
Luton's first goal was a beauty, I said to those around me it was a very good worked goal.
Okay the second goal I'll not go into too much detail except that the style of FGR play it was inevitable we would concede a soft goal like that.
Bottom of table but not really playing that badly, FGR will move above the relegation zone in the very near future.

Christ, are you really talking about Mark Cooper?!

Everything must go sideways. And why break on the counter when you can play it back to a shit keeper with no distribution skills?

I have no problem with hylton celebrating, you make your own luck in football. The one player I have a problem with is potts the cheating twat. Trying to get a 19 year old defender sent off by diving. Luckily fitzwater saw it coming.

Did he appeal for it? I was in two minds at the time. Clearly it wasn’t a penalty, but I wasn’t sure it was a slip or a genuine attempt to win a penalty.

This season there has been a noticeable increase in Luton player diving I’d happily admit - it’ll bite someone eventually.

This thread has been hilarious.

Urban you are a deluded fool.

-Breathes hatred about Luton in a Luton thread, Luton fans react calling you out.
-Makes 'defend yourself with reason' comments, Luton fans give you hoensty and reason.
-Decides he is being bullied because he cant answer with reason himself and cries wolf.

Superb. Brightened up my monday morning already chap.

For the record Hylton is a devious little shit. But I would happily see him sign a 5 year deal with us. Not enough of him in football but a lot of teams have a shit version of him - Ellison at Morecambe, Akinfenwa at Wycombe etc. With Hylton it makes him raise his game and takes the focus off the other players around him. Win/Win.

I remember giving him just as much grief at oxford away when he blatantly elbowed Sheehan as you lot do on here. But when he signed I cant hide the fact I was delighted.

Hes a shit house, but hes our shit house.

By wading into this thread with a post starting with an insult you kind of prove my point, no? Go back through and see all of the comments people have made to me just because they don't agree with my point of view. I've not 'cried wolf' or mentioned any 'bullying' - that's you spinningthis to try to take the piss - but it has been an unreasonable response. People should be able to comment about your club without you all getting a hard on and attacking them.

For the record, I did explain the reasons behind my initial post in a recent post. But don't let that stop you from trying to be the funny man here. Why respond if you're not going to say anything constructive?

100% agreed and, again, I understand exactly. But this means you should be understanding when fans from other teams slate him for his actions. He's indefensible. And annoyingly, undefendable when playing against him :(

Fans are fickle to be fair, we were booing and abusing Hughes at Notts County away... when he signed loads were saying they would not celebrate if he scored etc... within a week they were all doing the Hughesy at Gills away!

I was away travelling when he signed, with access to the internet only a few times per week, my initial thoughts were pretty much unprintable but I had cooled down a bit by the time I got home and saw him play. All I can say is that I can't remember seeing many players turn out for us and look so comfortable on the ball, he seemed to have extra time having controlled it before picking out a pass, very skillful player...pity some of his choices in life were so poor and blighted not only the lives of others but also his own.

Yeah, he was a quality player and having met him a few timesI actually thought he seemed really decent. Can't hold people's past against them imo.

To be fair Hughes was great around the club, did a lot of charity stuff and always there for the kids etc. Then when we won promotion and the squad and owner got smashed in town after the game he was there doing the Hughesy... Norm was shitfaced singing the wonder of you... the glory days... :(

Agree totally, I have just watched the goal highlights from C5, that challenge is far worse than I remembered it...can't see how anyone could think it worthy of anything less than a sending off. Do that in Sunday football and you would probably find yourself counting stars...followed by your teeth!

I guess at least Lee Hughes was remorseful, and doing a steering wheel celebration when he scored against us for Notts County was a fitting tribute to the innocent lives the despicable human being took away.

Top guy.
