Probably our biggest home league game for 30 years? Sold out (albeit a depressingly low number, we've lost about 2500 in 20 years with no redevelopment), big away support from a local team we probably won't play much more in the next 30 years, should be good though I fear they may blow us away if we can't get our shit together in the first 20 minutes as has been the case in much of the last month.

Note to Ipswich fans, if you could not takeover my pre-natch watering hole that'd be great, there's tonnes of good pubs in Cambridge you don't need to drink in my shithole.

Only 2 wins so far this season represents a poor return, the reality is the team have been playing plenty of good football and been involved in some cracking games. A good start on Saturday will be to keep a clean sheet ( for the first time ) The 10 day break has come at a good time for us ,hopefully allowing some of our injured players to get back. The performances of some our our young lads has been terrific and more of that can see us claim a 3rd win and take some pressure off our lowly position

Yeah agree not a derby at all. It’s a big game for us as we’ve not been at this level for 20 years and when we were last year there wasn’t such an abundance of ex premier league clubs and Ipswich weren’t there. When we were in the second tier 30 years ago this was standard fare but not since then.

I just hope we’re competitive and not slow out of the traps as has been the case often this season. Getting thrashed by Lincoln was enough, another wouldn’t be great.

Griffiths has recovered from is thumb injury that caused him to withdraw from England U21 duty, McGrandles is back in the squad, Walsh had no reaction from his run-out 10 days ago and Maguire seems ok as well.

No Hopper until the new year, I'm assuming Jackson is still struggling and no Bridcutt either, which is a blow and will leave the midfield lacking any real physicality unless we risk throwing McGrandles straight back in after a few weeks out.

Odd one Sanders, was it Plymouth where he came on and looked good, positive with his passing and a good size and a but stocky. Seems odd how he hasn't been given an extended run of games especially when Bridcutt has been out.

Hoping to bounce back after the swimming baths match down Pompey, whichever way you perceive that match you either say it should have never been played or Sunderland fans have sour grapes cos of the result. You couldn’t play actual football on the ground but as i and quite a few Sunderland fans have said Pompey adapted to the conditions better and got the job done giving the referee no choice but to see the game out so fair play to the winning team as they cant help the weather and our players should have been a bit more clever, it was almost like after 2-0 our players thought the game was gonna get abandoned. It is what it is and on a better playing surface that game never ends 4-0 to Pompey. So onto Gillingham who have never gave us an easy ride since our demotion apart from the first season down here, even though they are near the bottom i expect Steve Evans to have his team up for a battle and make it difficult, hopefully we can get the 3 points playing the style we have been and get a comfortable win, for me the first goal is massive so if Gills get it we draw but if we get it we win 2-0 or 2-1.

Good win versus morecambe last night. End to end and entertaining. A win stops the rot. Amazing to see us 1 place below the play offs ( till today ) given how poor we have been.

Started well but gone off the boil in the last few weeks and not creating the chances we did, while remaining extremely vulnerable in defence. You'll score at least one, no question. It's whether we can rediscover our creativity at the other end. Youngest side in all the divisions so lots of energy who try to keep it on the deck, though lately have reverted a bit more to pumping long and ineffectively from the back when they can't break down the midfield. Got important injuries at both ends of the pitch at the moment so I'd be more than happy with a point.

How is Luke McCormick getting on this season? He was many of our fans POTS last year.. although he didnt have a lot of competition.

well, as with our game v Gills last week we got 2 early goals, and then not so much to cheer about.

There is definitely quality in that Doncaster side - Hiwula being the standout, they pass the ball well and can attack with pace, but are lacking a bit of physicality and finishing.

I think if they can actually string a couple of results together, they could start to get out of trouble.

I've seen some sides in the drop zone that just look absolutely clueless, like dead men walking, where heads drop the minute they go behind (we've definitely been there before in previous seasons).

DRFC weren't like that at all though.

Anyway, we'll see.

Fully deserved that. We were the only team wanting to win. Not saying we were great, but my god, Charlton, you were woeful. Very little attacking threat and crazy dodgy at that back. Cant see manager lasting long if thats the same week in week out

Not in a million years are Ipswich getting promoted. Not dogged enough, don’t know how to see a game out and a very limited team to be honest. Good point for us despite not playing very well and giving them two goals.

Frustrating for us that we started so slowly yet again. Ipswich can't cope with being put under any pressure yet we weren't aggressive enough with them until the 70th minute.

Agree they don't look like a promotion candidate. Their fans must be alarmed by the lack of bottle they keep showing.

Also frustrating that we handed them both their goals with some horrendous defending - that's becoming a worrying trend.

Still, showed good resilience to come back again from two down. Very tough game Tuesday against Sheffield Wednesday. Could do with a win soon as we're slipping down the table with all these draws.

Well worthy of the three points today, only one team were intent on attacking and winning the game and it wasn't Charlton. Made a difference having Walsh and McGrandles back in. Didn't quite knit up front in the first half but we didn't play with a striker so perhaps it took a while to get used to it.

Disappointing goal to concede where Poole got blocked off on the corner but he got the winner, albeit offside.

Arter lucky to stay on the pitch, a dildo thrown on from the away end (as you do) and I don't think Adkins dared go further than the half way line at the end of the game.

Charlton weren't particularly unorganised, but had no idea what to do with the ball. Very slow tempo, no obvious patterns of play and were definitely happy with a point. Don't think Griffiths even had a save to make for us. You would have thought, given our own injury problems, they'd have come at us a bit more.

I don't think their number 20 touched the ball until 15 minutes to go and he passed it straight to our player! Left sided CB was decent, though.

He had a bit of a slow start playing in a different side and we were trying to work out his best position. But He's now showing what a good player he is, IMO.

Yep. If we hadn't cleared off the line and Tzanez hadn't produced that double save you'd have deserved the win. But Wimbledon have a real never say die attitude again under Mark Robinson, so opposition really need to kill us off, otherwise we'll come back to getcha!

Yup it was Kirk, just listened to Adkins - the guy is deluded. Charlton were woeful and it would have been criminal if we didn't get the 3 points. Best home performance of the season. McGrandles came in and did well but Walsh is a rolls royce, we looked much better with a left footed centre half which seemed to help Robson. Maguie worked his nuts off upfront but all round good performance with 3 points. A minority of the away fans let their club down with their behaviour so extra pleasing to see them leave with 0 points. Need to build on this with another home game on Tuesday night.

Total capitulation in a mad second half eight minute spell. Got a deserved equaliser early in the second half and then were dead and buried 13 minutes later after a Bazunu mistake set things in motion.

All credit to the Millers who are very quick getting men forward and ruthlessly exposed our lack of proper centre halves. Michael Smith enjoyed rubbing our noses in it after getting plenty of stick when playing for us a few years back.

At the end of the day it's a drubbing. Paul Cook returns to Fratton with Ipswich on Tuesday. Two teams who are very slack at the back. Could be plenty of goals.
