Curzon gave a few sides in the EFL a tough game in recentish years, beat Exeter, took Cambridge two games and penalties to get past them and lost to Wimbledon 4-3.

We will make changes but also that does not mean it will not be a strong side, we made 6 changes against Wigan and still won. Think Will Evans could do with a rest, Louie Reed and Aaron Lewis likely out injured.

All we ever have to look forward to these days is a decent away day and Southend is exactly that. They've managed to get their away end ready in time to give us 2000 tickets. Hoping for a decent run but we inevitably crash out to a league one side in round 2

Well, the TV cameras aren't turning up to Chesham to see a Lincoln win are they, so let's hope we make life comfortable for ourselves.

This attitude to getting knocked out of the FA Cup is so widespread nowadays. Such a shame.

Back in the day, it was such a big thing to progress through the rounds, with the dream of Wembley at the end.

Now, with the FA trying to get money back over the years for the huge costs of building the new Wembley, having semi-finals, Play-Off's and Mickey Mouse Cup finals held there all the time, it's not something to 'dream' about anymore.

Saw a clip this week of Helen Chamberlain having a rant on why she hates the Champs League etc for lowering the pretige of the FA Cup...how coverage started before lunch time, cameras in the team buses on the way to the stadium etc.

There is just SO MUCH footie on the box today, back then Live footie was very, very scarce, now it's in your face virtually every single day of the week.

I think it just depends on who you pull out the hat, in round 1 or 2 there are virtually no great ties if your a L1 or 2 club, plus your clubs situation in the League these days.

If you get an away day at a non league club you'll never face before or likely again there is a novelty of it, if your mid table and not likely to go up/down then it may add some interest but for example we've got Barnsley at home, dull as dishwater, dire draw and I am sure they feel the same about playing us, we are flying high in L2, stunning form at the minute and our forum is mostly debating that we make changes to "protect" key players for the league which is the be all and end all this season.

If I had a choice of a guaranteed three points next weekend or beating Barnsley this weekend then we are out the cup.

We can focus on the cup when we're back in the top flight. For now, the aim is to get out of this league.

Mansfield themselves as a club may take it easy, Mansfield fans may well assume it’s easy but the key person is Nigel Clough and I just don’t see him the type to take it easy, I can see them being drilled as hard for this weekends games as their recent games vs Birmingham, Blackpool and Wigan.

The one wee hope I have and it’s caused many an ex league club scalp in conference north is this won’t resemble any type of normal non league club experience they’d had in numerous fa cup games before.

The ground is nice, the pitch is one of the best in country let alone non league, Curzon will try in many occasions to be a nice passing side, Mansfield will have 1000 plus fans and the home fans will number about 500 so it’s an fa cup game with larger away support than home.

Is many an occasion the last few years I’ve watched fans of ex league clubs or current league clubs in the cups turn up see how it looks and feels and frankly lose their bit of spark and fire and passion and BANG in comes this dirty, clipping heels energetic hard battling little side and knocks em for six and game pretty done before they realise it………only really Stockport used to handle it well constantly.

Treat it like a scrappy battling usual fa cup game away at a non league craphole and Mansfield will win, turn up thinking it all looks so nice and easy as Wimbledon and Cambridge nearly did, Curzon can give quite a kick in the b*llocks.

Clough will have the players up for it and any player who isn’t will soon find out, let me tell you, we don’t have that character at mansfield, and as a group of fans we’re pretty modest and realistic also.

We had a similar game against Shaw Lane Association a number of years ago and (i think) won 3-1, but not before they equalised - it was on tv so could’ve watched at home but missed 2 of the goals as i was in the beer tent behind the stand!

they’re an odd one barnet. Of course each club has an equal right to be in the league they’re in, but it’s almost if barnet got promoted you’d be like, right you’re here for 2/3 seasons and back down you go.

That said i always enjoyed underhill, quite the experience.

We’ve sold over 1700 as of yesterday and with u12 tickets only available on the day and a few more days of sales you’ll be looking at the full 2,000.

Is loads of places…..don’t head to the ground you’ve no chance.

If you check google map you’ve 3 best places and depends what you want to do beforehand.

If you just want to park and go to game or maybe eat there is two metro (tram) park and ride car parks in the area, one frankly 5 minutes walk from ground next to the Cineworld and has loads of eating places and pubs and carvery places…….that is 5-6 minutes walk from ground but be careful here to make sure to pay as I’d assume many will park there and will no doubt be checked by traffic wardens.

Is also one which is one team stop away Ashton moss, teams are every 12 minutes you go to Ashton west for the ground and tram tickets about £1-2 I don’t drive so unsure how you pay for these park and ride car parks I’d imagine you just ha to display a tram tickets.

If you looking for drink I’d head to Ashton town centre and opposite the railway station is a multi story car park it’s about 2:50 to park all day but the risk I Sunday is it closes 4pm if it went extra time. Tram begins next to bus station and just one stop loads of pubs this area.

From what i recall of the ground theres a small stand halfway down the pitch either side (though decent for that level) i assume we’d have the one opposite the main stand?

You get an enormous side terrace which probably holds about 1,000 plus people and creates a lot of noise, my usual standing spot but lose it when segregated.

You will get one block of seating at the end of the opposite seated stand will probably be 150 odd seats so I’d assume they will be selective on who they let sit there older people unable to stand all game.

Then one end terrace uncovered maybe 6-7 steps high, and 3 side terraces one block to end of seated stand and two on either side of the large covered terrace.

You get a good view anywhere and plenty of space for a non league ground no one really is going to struggle with the view.

Weather is nice so no worry of rain, if there will be issues it’s toilets they will get portacabin but there is also toilets under the seated stand proper toilets and may have less queues.

I’d get there early though because they will just use one set of turnstiles so will take a while to get in, plus then you get back of the terraces which is best views.

Home fans frankly will have one third of the ground but looking like only 3-500 home fans tops……man united are on soon after in the pubs I suppose

On the whole Curzon is a friendly club with little trouble End of day it’s usually unsegregated and fans mix and chat my standing spot is usually among away support, I think police are going OTT here because some of the away fans Halifax I remember and last year in fa cup think Tamworth last year especially had some very nasty peices of work and police had to get called in, it was like the ‘oh more home fans than away so will big it up’ brigade assaulting old men women and kids so I think it’s why recent couple of games it’s been very policed and segregated.

Quite a direct side, diagonal balls out wide usually, can be poor defensively.

Got some good players attacking, DKD, Phillips in particular.
