Felt that we were the better team and at one point second half we were all over Bradford. Vernam changed things and added some spark and the last 15 minutes was nervy.

We're not Brazil 1970 but our workrate is too much for most teams at this level. When we're on it, we're very difficult to beat.

I have a good feeling that this result was important. We'll probably go and lose our 2 home games now!

I think Bradford with Vernam were a completely different prospect. Suddenly looked full of energy and pace whereas before to be honest I thought your team were a bit lumbering.

You’re right about Wilson especially without Conlon and Gibbons. Thought we were very aggressive throughout which is good if channelled the right way. Came close to the edge a few times but thankfully nobody got sent off.
Yes you reminded me of Mansfield in every way, except they didn’t have Wilson between him and our shocking defensive mistakes that was the difference and then our subs gave us hope, two starters usually but just coming back from injury so it is what it is. Our season is over anyway so aren’t going to cry over spilt milk.

Exeter and Swindon still look better imo, but there’s a lot of teams up there that haven’t impressed me so you’ve got a chance. Best of luck either way.

Sounds like a game of two halves, Sutton totally on top first half, Rovers had the bulk of the play second half. Draw sounds like a fair result and at least ends our losing streak away.

Well that was entirely predictable, right down to us literally giving Carlisle the winner.

Cooper out for me now, even though it's probably too late to have an effect.

No completely agree like I said you’ll take it at this stage of the season. It’s an art to be that good at shithousing too. Could see each cheap free kick coming a mile off, sadly the refs at this level can’t.
Yep that's the Barton effect and the type of players he has brought in. We have historically been a bit naive when it comes to shithousing, never seemed to do it until Barton came in.

Just seen the goals, scrappy first but well finished second, see their fans moaning at the foul off the ball but to me their lad is fouling ours first and he shoves him off.

Big win, especially with some big players out today and sets up two massive massive home games now.

Glad to see us grind one out too, again though frustrating we wasted the Rochdale, Harrogate and Colchester games with going 3-4-3! Win against Exeter midweek and we are in with a shout for the autos, point now wouldn’t be the end of the world but win would be massive in that one.

It was two poor teams I thought. Could find fault in all 3 goals probably.

Disappointing performance today and nothing like what we've seen under Hughes previously. Vale came to make it a scrap and we allowed it, although it doesn't help when Elliot Watt is injured. He's the only player capable of dictating the game from deep and is crucial for how Hughes wants us to play.

Delfouneso was garbage but to his credit Hughes is giving everyone a chance. I doubt we'll see much more of him now players are coming back mind.

Shocking defending for both goals, albeit a blatant foul on Songo'o for the second which that useless tosser Drysdale didn't give.

Vale were ok, direct and aggressive but stopped us playing we'll enough. Aside from Hartlepool, we're yet to play a side who is anything other than ordinary at best, which shows just what a wasted season this has been.

Completely agree with almost everything there. Think we'd have gotten something today if Vernam was fit enough to start. Drysdale is a cnut but I'm not sure the Songo'o incident is actually a freekick. Think he just falls over. Need a new centre back to partner Paudie. Andy Cook needs releasing and I never thought I'd say that at the start of the season; He's far too slow, can't hold it up and he can't take simple chances unfortunately. Didn't even notice Delfouneso today aisde from the few times where he misplaced his pass out of play.

Pathetic defending + missing sitters = frustrating defeat. Crawley played a counter attacking game at home and I'm not quite sure how we didn't get a point today let alone a defeat. Unfortunately defending has been a weakness all season. C'est la vie.

We've not got a game for a while now so can get our injured players back and hopefully go on a bit of a run and either sneak that third auto spot. (think FGR and Exeter will have 1&2 - not necessarily in that order)

It was very much a game of 2 halfs with both sides benefiting from a strong wind going towards the Gander Green Lane end of the ground.

Still a point does end our losing streak although failure to beat other top end teams at home (we’ve drawn with Northampton, Bristol Rovers, FGR and Tranmere at home within the last 2 months) may prove our downfall.

My POTM was Ben Goodliffe, scored our goal and was key to limiting Tranmere attacks in the 2nd half and at the end made a fantastic goal saving tackle.

Oldham away on Tuesday. I doubt many of the 11,000+ with Wembley tickets will be there, but it’s a big game for us.

I'm surprised at Hartlepool because our victory against them at home was so comfortable. Clearly they've been a bit up and down form wise, which is as to be expected having recently come up.
For whatever reason, our away form under Challinor was crap, even when getting promoted.
To his credit,Lee has massively improved it.

Exeter fans how’s the fan who ran down the steps and tripped head first into a barrier when you scored your 2nd. he was still down receiving treatment when the game finished and I wasn’t staying to clap our lot off. Well done on your victory today by the way one of the better sides. We’ve played and I think you will go up automatically.hope the fan is ok

A win, finally after 3 months.

Started poorly, Rochdale took the lead after applying early pressure and it took a rocket from Paul Smyth to claw us level after a very flakey start. As soon as kick off is taken, we panic and are nervous and look all at sea despite getting ourselves back into the game, getting to half time level was a big bonus for us.

Second half we managed to see out some Rochdale pressure and managed to get in front from the second phase of a corner, after that I thought Rochdale ran out of steam and we thankfully managed to get the important third to clinch the game and managed to boss the rest of the game.

We are better under Wellens, we play to our teams strengths better and play better football. We're still very flakey and need to string some more good results together to get us anywhere near looking a competent team (plus signing some better CMs) but we do look alot better than we did.

Rochdale impressed me again with their style of play, but still prone to silly errors and after we took the lead they never looked like getting back into the game.

Not sure if it was a good or bad day for Mansfield. If we win our games in hand we would be third.

I thought it was a foul, Songo’o has his shirt pulled and then gets pushed over. Regardless though, he's shit and needs sending to Morecambe in the summer. Like you say, new CB to partner Paudie who I hope we can keep, but in truth we need much better fullbacks than Hendrie and Foulds who are ok as backup but nothing more.

Agree on Cook, I like him but we need more mobility.

Foulds is way too inconsistent for a team wanting promotion. I don't think he's played well twice in a row. Seems to be good, shite, good and back to shite. I think Ridehalgh is better than foulds, not just defensively but also with his partnership with Vernam.

Cook definitely isn't a one up top striker, I think he's in need of a rest and a really good pre-season. I think Hughes will look elsewhere though to be honest.

I saw the foul on Songo'o again on Twitter and it is a foul.

Well that was fun. Pretty even first half but we came out like a train in the second. Should probably have scored more than one before Atangana had two brain freezes, first to give away the penalty then to be sent off. No issue with either decision. The penalty save was huge, but we couldn't quite get going again after that, until the goal in injury time.
What class finishing from Taylor and Brown though.
Massive win, takes the pressure off on Tuesday but Taylor was stretchered off and Atangana suspended so we might be a bit light in midfield.

Most depressing thing for me is our home form, 4 wins at home all season non since January and 16,000 turn up which is over 3,000 pay on the day at £20 a pop more than most full gates in this league. It’s so gutting and deflating I’d love to be playing the lines of Wednesday and Sunderland but here we are.
