Our manager has confirmed George Taft will be fit which is excellent.

I think we will stick with three at the back and play Jai Rowe (a RB) at the other CB position. Rowe has really looked off the pace this season after looking promising last year, he needs to be better, especially if he's at CB.

Well Crawley away, a fixture that has been kind to us in recent years. In fact Crawley as opponents full stop haven’t really turned up against us at all for a long time.

This on paper is a more favourable fixture than recent games so it’s one we should be getting something from. But this is Carlisle United, so you never know what we are going to do and sooner or later Crawley are bound to end this rotten spell they’ve had against us. But if we play like we did second half against Salford then we should be able to get something, but play like we did first half and I’d expect Crawley (or any team for that matter) to rack up enough chances to beat us comfortably.

I just hope that beech and the team have learnt from their mistakes. We had a diabolical 90 minutes at Hartlepool followed up by an even worse 45 v Salford. Tactically poor in both. Quite how Salford didn’t have the game won by half time I’ll never know. It’s going to be interesting to see which Carlisle team turn up. It’s an important game as a win would leave us in a great position going into next weeks home game.

Right now I wouldn’t accept a point, but by 10 past 3 tomorrow I might be thinking differently.

We could be in the top 3 tonight, and should be a good atmosphere for the first Friday night home match (with fans) in what must be a few years.

Looks like we may have a game tomorrow. Which is nice.

Still no word on which players tested positive for Covid last week. Omar Bugiel is back following his trips to the UAE and South Korea as part of Lebanon’s World Cup qualifiers.

You've even brought in our ex-assistant manager to help you for the game. Pretty desperate, you have to admit.
Hopefully he will have the same impact on their defence as he did with ours :gr:

Anything to give us an edge in our cup final mate. Will certainly be an occasion for the ages.

Pools with the best home record in the country in 2021; Gas with no away wins for nine months. Away banker innit.

I think your home record will remain the best come 4.45 tomorrow. If the football is rubbish the referee Rebecca Welch is pretty tidy

I have no idea what to expect from Colchester, their only win was a 2-1 at Oldham who are obviously well below average, but they have only lost the once. We should be confident after a resounding/comfortable win last week (granted also against Oldham) and should be backed by a decent crowd so you've got to be hopeful of three points.

Colchester claiming their keeper has been racially abused by Barra fans?

BBC Essex are reporting that there was racist abuse. Apparently they had to do a tannoy announcement to say it’s not tolerated etc.

Hopefully the person or people that did it end up ID’d and banned.

Appalling result, defending etc. Appalled by what's been reported to have gone on.

Embarrassed to be a fan of Barrow AFC tonight.

Really frustrating game, all the goals were dreadful defending by both teams - the winner looked like it should've been ruled out, but to not be able to finish the game off when we had 45 mins of total possession is a joke.

Dunno what happened with the goalkeeper in the first half - wouldn't surprise me though as there's some proper dickheads stand behind that goal. Didn't hear a single boo for the knee this time, so the announcement came as a surprise.

Two points from three very winnable home games, and it's clear we won't be in the play-offs this season.

Nothing against Barrow but seeing Mark Cooper lose is always a good thing.

I would still love him to be our manager though as he does play good football.

Shouldn't have lost that game - but our defensive injuries showed tonight - Taylor's lack of pace cost us the 1st 2 goals - but he's our 6th choice at centre back, We were down to Grayson (3rd choice) Jones (5th) and Taylor (6th) and Jones got sent off for 2 yellows so 7th choice Festus Arthur will probably come in against Bradford. The winner should have been disallowed for a push on Dmitri Sea*
Our 1st goal was even worse defending by Colchester than our defending.... Sunday League standard at best.
As for the alleged racist comments - i was in the main stand so too far away to hear anything - but if there was anything the guys need catching and banning

*confirmed in the match highlights - Eastman pushed Sea to the floor before scoring

well - including Festus Arthur and Connor Brown we have used 8 people at centre back so far this season - not all of which play there as their primary position;-
1) Matty Platt - went off injured in match 2 - stress fracture of his back apparently
2) Mark Ellis - suspended
3) Grayson - Utility player - CB or Midfield

that's our usual 1st choice back 3

after that comes;-

4) Kgosi Ntlhe, (injured) CB/LB
5) James Jones (now suspended) CB/RB
6) Connor Brown (injured) CB/RB
7) Jason Taylor (Defensive midfield - but fills in as an emergency)
8) Festus Arthur (CB) - on loan from Hull - but still very raw

' We never win at Swindon '. It should be our club motto. We have the tools to get a result as shown by our impressive result at forest green but we need to be much more switched on than we were last week. We got undone twice by a ball over the last defender, which is schoolboy stuff. Swindon have starred much better than I thought although they have some of the players who were promoted out of this league so perhaps it shouldn't be a surprise. They'll be strong at home.

If we get any points out of the next 2 then that would set us up for a friendlier set of fixtures over the next couple of months.

We’ve been fortunate not to concede a few - mainly down to our keeper Wollacott. We also struggle to finish off good moves. Sooner or later one, or both, of those will change.

To be honest our past record at Swindon is a complete and utter irrelevance. Whether this team can win is not influenced by past Vale teams efforts there not least as there’s barely any of the same personnel. It’ll be hard work as Swindon have some good players not because a Vale team with the likes of Chris Martin in goal got battered there in the past. I expect us to compete hard though as we have some good players too.

Politic really has to be given a go today at some point. I certainly would give him a shot over what has been a very ineffective Rodney so far this season. Walker also must start, I think he just does the work that tends to go un-noticed but still extremely important to the team and free up Conlon etc. I suspect we might see Gibbo get a start too.

2-2 i will take that! although it was a pretty piss poor performance from us and we took the lead twice, maybe travelling up there and playing the game on the same day was the wrong thing to do, whatever we were awful and as for harrogate they were not much better, all the goals came in the first half which was good as the second half was just about the worst half of football i have ever witnessed and i have seen some shockers in my time following newport county, hopefully things can only get better.........Hopefully.

Desperate to see what Politic can do post injury. Surprised he’s not been involved yet unless he’s genuinely still not fit.
