Yeah definitely would not say you were on the beach. I think you moved the ball well in spells and think you will be up there for sure next season. That first half was our best 45 mins of the season and as you say Pinnocks goal was an absolute screamer (not his first one of the season).

We definitely have some players that can put it on others but I think most good teams do. The elite teams (not comparing us to them!) are always getting yellows for stopping counters, needs to be done at times. Rose annoys me tbh, we bring him on for the last 10 mins and 2 things are inevitable, 1 he wont score, 2 he will get booked. Thing is he does wind up the opposition and the defender shouldnt have reacted in that way.

Didnt Harry Smith just come back from injury? Seemed like he was struggling so badly towards the end surprised they didnt take him off just to ensure it didnt get worse.
All in all a great game and hopefully we continue that into next week.
Harry Smith fell awkwardly with about 15mins left but struggled on, he was in a bit of pain when he fell. Was still 11 v 11 when it happened and as you say I thought he was probably going to come off.

He was, unsurprisingly, fouled in the air and landed badly as a result. Not that he uses his feet anyway.

I get what LordJord is saying about the necessity of the ‘tactical foul’, but Cobblers really take it to extremes. Hoskins’ foul in the first half was a horrible scissor challenge and Rose’s was a straight red all day long. Ogie’s reaction was immature (not that I really blame him, considering how bad the foul was) but he didn’t actually ‘throw’ a headbutt, nor did he make contact with Rose (who fell to the ground clutching his face). Cheating little c***.

I knew it would be a dangerous game before it kicked off and it showed. Walsall played with freedom and the two players that their fans slated before the game in Osadebe and Miller played like peak Zidane and Henry for half an hour in the second half. It's absolutely classic that these teams 'happen' to find their form against us.

We looked like a nervous, scattered wreck with seemingly no game plan. I'm surprised we didn't lose by more. We peaked away at Salford 3 weeks ago and since then we've scraped past a train wreck in Oldham, a Hartlepool team long since on the beach and got beat by a decent but functional Bristol Rovers and a bang average Walsall.

We desperately need the rest but I think by Newport it will be all over for the automatic spots.

As I said on the other thread any other team in our position would have ensured at least a draw against Bristol Rovers and would have won today comfortably. I guess that's what comes in being one of the least successful clubs in the entire leagues, we're just not used to being in this position, whereas your Exeters and Northamptons are virtually in this position every other season.
It can’t be over before the Newport game, it could for us if we lose and Cobblers win but a Vale point or win takes it to the final day.

Sure there will be further twists and turns to come but most disappointing today was the effort, it just looked at times like we were the ones on the beach, very passive, switched off, as you say if you want automatic promotion you have to win that today.

I know it’s a massive game for them because of DC and their fans have become obsessive with us over it, Christ even had a pitch invasion from a handful when the 2nd win it but we’ve got to match that desire for the end goal of promotion, you’ve got to want it.

This break is probably the perfect timing and I expect us to win on Monday week and be back to the intensity we had been at before Oldham. Whether that’s enough obviously we will have to see what prevails on Saturday.

Northampton are pretty disgusting. Can't be pleasant watching that behaviour every week.

Haven’t seen them today but can’t stand Rose, his antics against us for Mansfield were a disgrace a couple years back.

I really enjoyed today FWIW. I don’t like Danny Rose he spends most of his time on the pitch trying to win free kicks and it pisses me off, however the 70 minutes before he came on was great.

Met some great orient fans in the Leyton technical, a properly good away day

The thing is Smith dished it out a lot when he played against us before he signed for us, oddly then wasnt particularly agressive when he was upfront for us. But a man of that size is going to expect some physicality to combat his obvious aerial strength.

If you look at the two teams disciplinary records then yours is worse, both in terms of yellows and reds this season.

Not defending Rose, as I have mentioned im not a fan of his. He dosnt spend much time focusing on football, just on being a WUM on the pitch. That being said i dont think it was a horror challenge. A late one yes, but maybe I need to see it again. Not shocked he went down easy, most players when heads remotely move forward do so, its always embarrassing whoever it is.

The football isnt always the greatest but our behaviour is no worse than several other teams in the league IMO.

It's funny how lady luck evens itself out.
The last time Bristol R hosted FGR they prevented FGR getting promoted that season
[FOOTBALL CONFERENCE PLAY-OFF: - Su 03 May 2015 Bristol R 2 - 0 Forest Green]
This time FGR are assured of promotion at Memorial Stadium.
Sod's Law it is called.

We might as well just forfeit away games. Absolutely pathetic and season almost certainly over.

Rose loves a dive but I can’t remember much more than that during his time at Mansfield.

We might be, I'm not personally calling for them to go, they need time and a summer to do what they think needs doing. Raj did similar ruthless stuff at Darlow so I'm just saying I wouldn't be that surprised. He won't be happy with the last two months (but he is culpable in this) and now we're heading down to 4000 home fans.

Last two months have been an absolute fucking joke, I'm not usually one to question effort and desire but it was so painfully obvious that no fucker fancied it today. Where's the motivation coming from the bench? Nothing. Nelse's record at Blyth, well we know how cack that is. Lee is a decent bloke but has he got the respect of that changing room? They're not playing for anyone and not even themselves to get a move. Something not right behind the scenes?

I'm not confident in the pair of them but agree they need to build a squad of their own, pressure will be on though cos avoiding relegation next season won't be remotely good enough.

If they don't beat Scunny next week that away end will be toxic.

Genuinely think Scunny are gonna sign off this season with a win in front of their home fans, can’t see us putting any sort of effort in to get a result. I was disgusted at the effort levels today, don’t know if it’s the fact they are on the beach, that better players are looking ti leave or a combination of them both. Need a big summer window or u seriously worry for next season.

Definitely, seems like they're just playing the kids who are fired up. We always lose at Scunny anyway just this time with up to 2000 away fans watching players that couldn't give a fuck about the club or the fans who've been paying hard earned to watch them.

what scoring the goal that keeps you up means;-

allegedly Josh Kay (our 11) got sent off (2nd yellow) on the way back to the centre circle for saying "See we can score in spite of you" to the referee (there may have been an expletive or 2 in there too)

Let’s hope Walsall give a life ban to the cretin low life who tweeted such vile stuff about DC last night, it’s so bad I won’t link it on here but at least most Walsall fans have reacted with disgust and demanded action on it too. Pretty vile that and really don’t get it.

I won’t comment on my own team, but would like to wish Forest Green all the best after their promotion. The best side we’ve played this season. Also to commiserate with Oldham, while hoping they can get the ownership changed and quickly return to the FL.

Don't think there has been a single game this season when the opposition fans haven't said that they will be the team we beat for various reasons

It's never true

Watched all the highlights from the various games. Nothing more than a ripple of applause from the Harrogate fans after every goal.

It’s a shame some have to take it too far. Easy to be brave on social media I guess. I presume he and that other one who posted something way over the line when DC first took leave are just kids otherwise they need a long hard look at themselves if not.

In balance from having a glance at your forum some of our fans didn’t cover themselves in glory after the game either.

Forget FGR.

Harrogate exudes ‘Tinpot’.
Not many fans and even Less passion there.

I know we have a fair number of fans from Harrogate who go to games when we’re away, have done since their non league days. I imagine more so with Leeds fans in the area, it’s a club that is nothing but a hobby club and most who attend probably have ‘first’ or ‘second’ clubs they support. Themselves and Salford probably have 500 genuine fans between them.

Disappointing effort that, no limbs at all.
Probably the best limbs of the weekend in league 2 was Walsall fans. Went nuts when both goals went in.
That lower tier is very close to the pitch it has to be said. No wonder they spill out most weeks onto the playing surface, it’s right close to it.

Northampton fans provided excellent limbs for their opener tbf.
