2-1 penalty last kick of the game virtually can’t say we deserved the win but a good 3 points and hopefully Ironside will start to find some of last seasons form now

More than played out part there in what must be one of the lowest quality football matches ever played. Everyone involved should be ashamed. Nice three points, though.

Finished 3-1 to Vale and have to say that is the best we’ve looked all season. Bench strength was the difference in the end. We had the likes of Benicio and Curtis whereas they had Mipo. Quality win against a good team who I think will be challenging for a playoff spot this season so can’t be anything but pleased with that.

Fully deserved win and probably the best home performance yet, fully in command for virtually the whole game and Fleetwood are a decent side so that was no easy task.

When you can throw on BBB to change a game you know your in a good place.

Purring away nicely at the moment and the most complete effort so far this season for me. Got to keep it going now.

Either a bad game or two decent teams cancelling each other out. Good win though, thought moving Abbott into the middle made a massive difference and he should be in over Robertson going forward, who just looks miles off it this season.

Maynard’s really got to sort the wing backs out, I thought Gordon was ok but he got hooked off for Austin who was completely hopeless as he always is, Tsaroulla was good in the second half but Abbott was ineffective in that position before moving inside. I can’t really see what he’s attempting to do there at the moment.

RB, who would you start at wing back? Gordon and Tsaroulla?

Sounds a shocker of a game but a 1-0 win after last season and our last two home games with the same scoreline in reverse is ever so pleasing. We finally beat a promotion likely rival.

Missed chances cost us here. Not much in the game but we can't be so sloppy in front of goal

Yes, they’re the only options for me. I guess it’s just a question of if you can get 90 minutes out of them every week until Jones is back, Austin isn’t the answer to any question and Abbott should be in the middle so I think he’s got to give the likes of Martin or Cisse a go - or adapt and play 4 at the back at times

First half you edged it, we were poor on the ball but solid. Did have what looked like a perfectly good goal chalked off though.

Not sure if it's us working you out or you not turning up for the second half, or a bit of both. Been one way traffic.
Oh and the answer is no - you cannot play us every week.

Agree with all that.

That is a big win regardless of how ugly it was , what the stats say. Will surely keep the bedsheets away for another month or so.

The only genuine chance you had was when we decided to just pass you the ball clean through near the end to be honest. It was an absolutely awful game, neither team deserved a point let alone three.

Really good game of football at Vale Park. Superb advert for League 2. Fleetwood played their part but we were excellent today all over the park. Really looking a strong side now and we will take some stopping.

Much needed win for Rovers but it sounded like Bromley had the bulk of the play, missed some decent chances and McGee was at his best. Will see what Grimsby on Tuesday night bring... a few more cent results needed to feel we're turning the corner.

It feels like we are turning our home form around nicely and we are probably a more effective away side. We are already dealing with a bit of an injury crisis at wing back but you'd barely notice.

It does feel like we were vale for the win but Fleetwood had three very good chances (inc the one they scored), the one where it was squared back looked harder to miss and he fluffed it straight to Ripley, so we were let off there.

But in terms of controling the game that's the best we have played. 25 mins in those Fleetwood fans must have been thinking they were in big trouble.

Fair play though they will be up there at the end of the season I'm sure.

I said pre season that I was not sure we would turn the horrendous 18 months of form around but we have. Difficult to not get excited currently.

We deserved the three points. That was a belter of a strike from Shepard! I'm disappointed we only scored two. Great chances for Oduor and Cook.

We snatched at chances first half. Omar should imo have scored.

Half chances maybe. It was weird cos you had about nine shots on target and we gave our goalkeeper man of the match, but also I’m pretty sure I’d have saved all of them, and I am a fucking terrible goalkeeper.

I thought we were a bit lucky first half to get in level but then had the better of it second half, but that’s clutching at straws really. It was a bad game that deserved to be 0-0 where we burgled a messy goal from a set piece to win it. I won’t complain as we’ve lost a couple at home recently where we probably didn’t deserve to, but if either of those teams want promotion they will have to play a lot better than that.

Anyone know how Gills got on?

They scored a really well worked goal in fairness. The scorer celebrated in front of the kop at our fans for some reason. Didn't see much of him or Gillingham after that.

Yep well that's us away currently. We keep it really tight. We only have one away goal. We are different beast at home. The manager is gonna have to work that one out.
Imo we are a top 5 side if we can get it together. You likely the same.

Walsall’s first shot on target after 56 minutes and they score from it.
We just can’t defend crosses into our box.
Bugger.
Walsall had 4 shots on target all game, scored 4 times! Seen similar stats in previous games.
Grimsby dominated the ball but frankly did nothing with it. Walsalls back 5 were coasting
Second half Walsall came forward and Grimsby surrendered meekly

Didn’t think the Saddlers were anything special but they didn’t need to be.

Grimsby are still very much a work in progress, think they will be lower mid table at end of the season as 8th before today flattered us imo. We let in far too many and lack a goal threat. Not sure the return of any of the injured players turn that around enough tbh

I thought it was cagey but quite high quality, both teams worried about gifting chances.
