I think Villa will score first but then Fulham to win 2-1 or 3-1.

I don't mind either way. 2 sides I like so win-win situation. I tend to root for the side that finished 3rd in those occasions.

Can we have a poll? This has 50-50 written all over it.

Think Fulham are clearly the better, more expansive, more entertaining team.

But suspect Bruce will set up tactics concentrating on negating and stopping Fulham.
Villa have more know how than Fulham and know how to win ugly.

Think Fulham are a poor mans Man City, very pretty on the eye.
Whereas Villa are a poor mans Man Utd (from this season under Mourinho), generally underwhelming but get the job done, quality players can score from nothing.

Really wouldn’t surprise me if Villa stink the place out and grind out a 1-0 win.
Not bothered who wins, don’t mind either club.

No, we sold him to Wednesday, mate.

Yes, we feel the love emanating from the pores of every Barnsley fan.
Don't really care who wins, whoever loses should be there or there abouts next season so doesn't make no odds to me.
Having said that, Villa at Hillsborough always has a big match feel to it with a great atmosphere compared to Fulham's usual sub 1k following, so I'll say keep Villa and Fulham can F off to the PL for a few seasons.
Either way let's hope for a great game and good luck to whoever wins.

Rubbish!
They finished a massive 5 points Infront of us. We've beaten them, and they beat us. Both have big players who can win games. On our day there is nothing between us. They play the better football I'll give you that. We will hold our nerve better.

That is why they’re better. They will beat you. Villa have very little going forward

They are far better because they finished 5 points Infront of us? We have a lot of options going forward. I think they will crumble.

Yes obviously. Don’t you understand how football works? If a team has more points they’re a better team

I mean, that’s just not true.

But, I do think since Fulham got Mitrovic they have really improved, had they had him the whole season they would have finished with a lot more points

You used the term FAR better! I'd say over the season they have edged us as a better team, but you make out they are a much better team when they are not. The only team head and shoulders above everyone is wolves.

How do you judge a better team then? Do you have an alternative to the 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 for a loss?

Do you think they’re a better team then?

For crying out loud, you used the term "far better" are they really that much better than we are? Over the season they obviously edged us as the better team, like Cardiff edged fulham.

Looking forward to MagpieBees revolutionary way to decide how a team is better than another as he disagrees with the point scoring system over 46 games

I can't see how Fulham can repel Villa from set pieces TBH. Villa are a big side and Fulham aren't.
While Fulham play the better football in my opinion, set pieces could well be their undoing.
That would be my guess anyway.

I wonder if you would be posting here if the officials didn't hand victory to you on a plate vs Notts County. Don't think i've ever seen such a farcial game of football.

Don’t have a better way, but not of the opinion that anything less than 10 points shows any sort of significant difference between the skill levels of two teams.

You only have to look at how some teams (like ourselves) can go on long runs of bad and excellent form.

I’m also of the opinion that luck doesn’t even out over a season. I can point to many seasons where Brentford finished way above, and way below, where they should have finished.

Looking at a 4 point difference in the league and saying that makes one team better than another, or the saying “the table never lies”, are incredibly nieve ways of looking at football.

Who had the better league season Fulham or Aston Villa?

Whoever wins the playoff final, will have had the better season, by some distance, this next match defines both their seasons.
Fantastic day and success for one, good season but ultimately a disappointing, even heatbreaking one for the other.

I know where you're coming from, but them 5 points count for nothing now.
To me if any playoff fixtures ended level, there should be no penalties and the higher placed league team should go through, but that would be no good for the money men (Tv) that now run our game.

Hmm, as Villa lost to us and we got two draws of Fulham, I would say Villa are slightly crapper than Fulham, hence a Fulham win :)

I booked a flight home back in January, when it looked like we could be involved. At just 20 euros it was a risk worth taking as it's 10 times that now.

Alas it wasn't to be, but I'll enjoy watching this from the comfort of the swimming pool bar!

Fulham are favourites for me and will probably dominate possession but they looked very vunerable on the break vs Derby and a better side would have punished them.

I take it both teams got the same allocation for the final? Fulham aren't selling part of their allocation straight away, only opening it if they have demand for it. Would make more sense for Villa to get a bigger allocation, or is it always the same for both sides regardless of demand?

Yes, both have got 38.100. We have around 6k left, but should sell out weds at the latest. Not sure how many Fulham have sold, but they won't sell out.
