Seems the Bolton takeover has gone tits up
Not quite. Anderson is playing silly buggers so he has been given time to contemplate, it does mean that HE is now liable for the £1.2m to HMRC, no ones going to lend him any to pay for it so I hope and expect something to happen Tuesday at the latest, but as in the other thread, if it doesn't we are gone

Great to see Oli McBurnie pass the 20 goal mark for the season. Reckon he’ll be off in the summer, probably to Rangers but I hope not because he’d be wasted in that joke league.

He'd better move, we need the money.

Feel if Villa and Leeds meet in the play offs there might be some tension between the 2!

Steve Gibson needs some yellow pages to get over his little man syndrome.

Threatening to sue Derby re FFP, I don't agree with what Derby did and I've heard we are doing re the stadium sale but as I've said before FFP in its current form can't work, sides relegated from above have huge financial advantages so clubs have to be cute.

If owners are financially solvent enough to put in the equivalent of Parachute Payments to ensure they can have a fair crack then it shouldn't be penalised, to me it's a restriction of trade.

c*** trick 2 days before the final.

Shame they sacked Pulis, would have enjoyed him spunking more parachute payments up the wall and failing to reach the top 6 again.

FFP needs a good re-think to make it robust enough to stop teams bending the rules.

Huge financial advantages dont seem to be working, of the last 21 teams to be relegated only 2 bounced straight back up. The last 6 only 2 of them have been anywhere near top 6, 1 went down to league 1.

Yes it's a joke, purely down to the ridiculous wage demands of players. I'm guessing our wage bill will go from 20m to around 60m just like that, then the problem is it doesnt get dropped back to 20m like it should do when relegated.

Yep and then to try and chase a quick return to the top flight you spend 8 figure sums and 3m a year wages on shite funded by Parachute monies.

How much do teams actually get in pp. I know you get 3 years worth if you stay up for more than 1 season.

Apparently it is £90m over 3 seasons, £40m in the 1st year, £35m year two and £15m in the third....

Hence Gibsons actions as they are now in the final year of theirs.

They were only entitled to two years worth so they've had all theirs now.

Just seen a good stat, we’ve finished in the top half of whatever league we’ve been in for the past 11 years (only non-Premier League side to do this)

08/09 - L2 - 1st
09/10 - L1 - 9th
10/11 - L1 - 11th
11/12 - L1 - 9th
12/13 - L1 - 3rd
13/14 - L1 - 2nd
14/15 - Ch - 5th
15/16 - Ch - 9th
16/17 - Ch - 10th
17/18 - Ch - 9th
18/19 - Ch - 11th

Very consistent the past couple of years!

Looks like our owners are selling OGC Nice. Don't know what this means for us but there has been very little activity down at Oakwell (I know it's still very early in the summer) and if reports are to be believed Stendel is asking for assurances regarding the squad before he commits to a contract extension.
