Gutted yes, but can’t complain too much with the result. I’d have taken it at 3pm yesterday; not many teams will pick up points v Fulham. That said, their defence will be the reason they may not get promoted automatically this season - it was all over the place and Christmas had come late for us in terms of the cock ups between Mawson and Ream.

But when you’ve got a front four of Mitrovic, Reid, Kamara and Knockaert at the end, we were only going to be up against it.

The substitution of LuaLua was the turning point for many Luton fans - I can understand the reasoning but the formation, which was working, had to change to accommodate.

Not many teams will pick up points v fulham? What about the 13 out of 23 that already have after 1 match. I hope your right though in the 2nd part of the season as it could mean another Leeds collapse. Good point for you though despite the last minute suffering, looking a tough task for survival though.

We were extremely lucky to be up there in the first place. The football is nothing like what it was us under Johnson a couple years ago.

It’s so poor. We’re only 3 points from 14th and that’s somewhere like our rightful position from what we’ve seen so far.

We’ve certainly gone backwards in the last 18 months. Here’s hoping things might change after a few recruits in January but I just want to see a decent performance! It’s proper pish.

You looked a very good team at Deepdale not too long ago. In fact, you looked as good as I've ever seen you in recent times.

Because rowett’s getting the most out of a limited squad, and fundamentally it isn’t his team. We’re not going up or down, so I’d like to see what he can do given after a full summer.

Literally the same situation for us and the Cowley's. January will be interesting, we have a lot of dead wood.

Yep. Deepdale, Craven cottage away plus Huddersfield at home were the exceptions, the rest have been poor. What's most frustrating is that we can clearly play but something is seriously wrong to be as poor as we've been lately, it really is garbage.
For 20 minutes yesterday, we started playing and scored twice, then we reverted to being crap. We have the player with the highest number of assists in the division (I think) and the streaky one won't start him.
Really frustrating.

We’ve won 1 in about 8 and still just behind third. I know we say every season is weaker but this season genuinely feels it.
Can see Brentford taking Leeds into second which would be quite amusing.

No you obviously are look back and you'll see.
Can't be bothered. Why do you have to be such a superior so and so?
Luton spent 5 seasons in the Conference and I bet they would rather be relegated from the Championship than stuck there.

Few early goals flying in.

Reading and Cardiff started well.

We are really, really bad. Don’t think we’d be anything special at league 2 level with this team let alone the championship. Fullbacks are an absolute embarrassment to be honest, how we had 6 months to prepare and identify replacements and came up with Bree, Bolton and Galloway I don’t know.

They are so bad that we’ve now had to resort to playing LuaLua there seemingly. I think Jones has done ok to try and get the best from us in matches and they work hard but fundamentally his signings have been nothing short of atrocious and it’s coming home roost now as were bottom of the league and deserve to be

Losing faith in Jones. Change of formation just ten mins in smacks of not understanding opponenets. The change? Put Lua Lua at Leftback!!!! Every one of his signings is worse than we had, or have, with the exception being injured and a loanee.

Cue gulf in budget post match speech

All pre season felt very haphazard to me and there was a lack of direction in terms of who we signed. We clearly had issues attracting players in the summer and we seemed to lose out on a few, I suspect he isn’t happy with the budget and therefore keeps mentioning it as it’s on his mind.

I also wonder how much Mick managing the team disrupted the scouting side of it which perhaps led to the fairly terrible summer signings.

Scary. We have to rely on a January transfer window and he couldnt get it done with six months planning and no other responsibilities let alone a few weeks and try and stay in contention with 21st.

Its going to come down to an inexperienced manager trying to instill confidence in inexperienced generally not Championship quality players..........not looking good

Have to hope that Mick has been busy and identified a few players who we can sign. Otherwise it’s looking pretty grim for us.

Apologies to Wigan, who should have left Nottingham with 1, maybe 3, points.

That youth they bought off the bench looks mint

Good win and finally a proper performance at home. Luton were pretty gash though.

We won't play like that against Brentford GG. We should but he'll bottle it I reckon.
Very happy to see Elliasson play like that at home, especially the tracking back bit, LJ can't drop him now. I was also genuinely amazed at Watkins performance. Where the fook has that been for the last 18 months?

Just go for it FFS LJ!

Yeah Watkins looked a threat, I was quite surprised. But with respect to Luton, Brentford will be a bigger test to him.

LJ has to go unchanged on Wednesday I think. Stop tinkering with players and formations as he just looks clueless otherwise.

He over complicates things too much. Just keep it simple.

Good performance and result yesterday. My major reservation about Rowett's early success had been our ability to bounce back after a poor performance. A hard-earned point in Wales and then deservedly beating one of the form sides in the division a couple of days later has gone a long way to putting those fears to rest. Now we need to go one step further and beat Luton on NYD -- we tend to struggle in these sort of games. I don't see the top six as being realistic, but three points will see us keep pace with the play-off pack and might colour our Jan business accordingly.

Stupidly didn’t realise our game is on Sky - if I’d known that I’d have thought twice about getting up at a silly hour...well for New Years Day anyway! What an idiot.

Also brings in confluence 2 things that always signal a poor Town performance - on tv and a kick off time that isn’t 3pm Saturday or 745 Tuesday. Not that we need any help performing badly away this season!

Quite a turnaround since we played Millwall in the home game earlier in the season, now looking upward rather than over the shoulder and early signs are Rowett is don g a great job.

Just hoping to come out of this with a point somehow and hopefully start the process of bringing in some decent defenders. Fullbacks first please!

Luton deserve that lead, we look dogshit.

I think the only times we've touched the ball in the Luton box has been with Matt Smiths head.

Matt Smith is a donkey, belongs in the second division. Its like playing with 10 men whenever he is on the pitch.

Aiden O'brien and Ferguson are terrible players at this level.

Fair play to the nutters who have paid £30+ for this game at 12:30pm on New Years day.
