Kinda glad Frankfurt are safe - losing Frankfurt and Stuttgart and getting Leipzig would have been a raw deal in my opinion.

Would love to see RB fall flat on their faces next season.

Würzburger Kickers having won back to back promotion and they are back in the 2. Bundesliga after 39 years of absence.

Fun facts: Würzburg had at this time two clubs in the 2. Bundesliga as their rival Würzburger FV also took part
Wolfsburg finished bottom last this season and conceded 119 goals Some devasting defeats for them at this time, including a 0:9 vs Göttingen, 2:8 vs Herne and a 0:7 vs Münster

Nice to see that Zwickau have won promotion. Will watch some games of them for sure.
Always had a soft spot for them as they nearly won promotion to the Bundesliga in the mid 90th.

2 things are worth to mention about them.

1. I am pretty sure their ground got the most unique name in football: 'Sojus 31' ( named after the mission which sent the first german to the stars)

2. The club were founded by Audi workers as Horch Zwickau ( Audi were founded in Zwickau but were moved after WW2 out of the sovjet zone).
Due to legal reasons Horch was translated in latin and became Audi ( lit. Listen)

Meh. Don't think it's a good fit. Augsburg have very little expectation. They started the season horrifically but didn't sack Weinzierl whereas a club like Schalke might have. Don't reckon it'll come off somehow.

So Rode confirmed - BVB's first signing from Bayern since Hummels in 2008.

Getting Bartra, Dembele, Rode and Merino for under €30m is pretty impressive. Reckon they'll spend much of that Hummels/Gundogan money?

Bartra's hiring is really a great deal to Dortmund. Expected them to have some difficults to replace Hummels with a player up to him but Bartra is a good name and the price wasn't bad. And beyond him Dortmund in theory is doing very good businness in a whole.

I also see Dortmund in good shape next season, if they can keep Aubameyang and Miki, which i think they will do. Gündogan is not a big loss, since he is injured often anyways and they have good replacments for that position. Dortmund have signed Emre Mor from Nordsjaelland. I was just watching some vids of the 'Turkish Messi' the other day, the general consensus from fans was that he's a bit too lightweight and flimsy to make it in the big leagues. Wonder if he'll stay or go on loan.

the main changes are:

Eurosport will show some games ( all friday night games, all 10 games on Sunday 13:30 and Monday 20:15 and the relegation playoffs)
4 games (from 2) will be on free tv they have to be from matchday 1,16,17 and 18

changes for the clubs:

Champion will now receive approx 80 million pounds for winning the league ( 30 millions for now)

an average 2. Bundesliga club will now receive 8 million pounds from the tv rights


also a new deal were made for the DFB-Pokal ( 90 million pounds per year) and the winner will receive 12 million pounds from the tv rights + prize money (8 millions) spectator revenues and Sponsoring.

a low profile Bundesliga club could make now up to 30 million pounds by winning 6 games

Can't deny this thing of Gotze in Borussia Dortmund is kind of weird. The negotiations still aren't finalized but after all is such an uncomfortable situation for Dortmund itself and the stans. Anyway he wasn't that useful for Bayern and most likely would have more chances at BVB and doing well maybe his relation with the team supporters get better.

Unfortunately, Miki couldn't resist the power of the money and joined ManU. So it's Europa League next season for him instead of Champions League. I doubt that Mourinho is such a fan of him like Thomas Tuchel was. Maybe we have here another "Kagawa case"?

You are right, the departure of Gündogan isn't such a big loss for Borussia but Hummels'. But I think it was the right decision for Mats to join Bayern and playing with Boateng constantly. The German National Team will profit, too.

I think that Götze will join his old team soon (at least I hope that. It seems that Carlo Ancelotti isn't a big fan of him either.)

Borussia won't win the title but they will be better placed than my HSV (btw: Any HSV Fans here?)

That's mostly not Borussia's Decision. If Bayern Munich calls most players follow the call (even if they end up on the bench like Götze (who comes back I am sure)).
And in the case of Robert Lewandowski they have denied the transfer although they could have get quite a lot of money for him. So he had to fulfill his last year of thecontract (and was very professional in this season) and could move then transfer-free to Bayern.

I am curious about how he fit in the ManU team. I wish him all the best

Nah. I like the club though. Went to Hamburg a couple of times and had a great time out. If anything I prefer St Pauli's ground. Hamburg is quite a big ground for not a whole lot of noise (to be fair, they were horrible when I went: a 0-3 home loss to Schalke at -8 degrees!).

Yeah I was wrong to say "selling" but my point still stands, watching key players regularly leave for Bayern Munich can't be good for anyone at Dortmund.

And I think he'll do well, he has all the physical attributes to do well in the PL and his technique is brilliant. If he flops it certainly won't be by not (for whatever reason) getting fair chance like Kagawa, Mourinho really wanted him and has spoken very highly of him since he signed.

HSV are my German team so you're not alone Dirk. Last season made a refreshing change, finishing mid-table instead of a relegation playoff always helps but more importantly the club stuck with the same manager all season in Bruno Labbadia.

I'm aiming to get to a Hamburg game next season. I would go to the Nordderby but there's likely little chance of getting a ticket. The Augsburg fixture in December looks appealing (provided it's not Friday night).

OK, HSV was fourth in crowd average in 2015/16 with nearly 54.000 per match (Dortmund (81.000), Bayern (75.000) and Schalke (61.200 ). But you have to consider that the Volksparkstadion has a capacity of "only" 57.000. If they had a 76.000 capacity Stadium like Munich the average would be high in the 60..000)

And I consider VfB Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt as big clubs, too (both have average crowds between 47.000 - 51.000) And see, what they've done last season. Stuttgart relegated and Frankfurt save due to the relegation Playoffs.
Maybe comparable with Aston Villa and Newcastle United in the PL. Both Big Clubs, too, with their fan base, their proud history but actually they fail to live to their status (like the HSV in the recent years)
Bremen is, after St.Pauli, the second club you better not mention to a HSV Fan (only joking). St.Pauli may be a Cult Club for many but they aren't a big club. All in all they played only 8 seasons in the Bundesliga.
The HSV is the only club who played all Bundesliga Seasons. Not even Bayern Munich can claim that because they were no founder member of the Bundesliga, this was the other well known Munich Club, 1860 Munich, nichnamed "Die Löwen (the Lions)" (who played in the Cup Final 1965 against West Ham United). Before the foundation of the Bundesliga Bayern Munich wasn't even considered a big club (only 1 German Championship in 1932.

Yes, it was really a refreshing change after 2 horrible seasons before with both times a Relegation playoff and in the last one against Karlsruhe, the HSV was really in danger to be relegated for the first time in their history (in this game I aged several years at once )

Nice to hear that you visit Hamburg and the Volksparkstadion. Yes, you're right tickets for the Nordderby against Werder are normally difficult to obtain.
If you are at the Volksparkstadion I recommend the Stadium-tour and a visit to the HSV-Museum. It's worth a look, you can see the trophies and many other memorabilia. I was so DAMN CLOSE to flying out for the Super Cup game on 14th August. Looking to make another trip to Dortmund this season
