With this brace, Lewandowski becomes Bayern's top ever goalscorer and only 2nd to all-time Bundesliga goal-getters to Claudio Pizarro.

No one ever will reach Gerd Müller's Bundesliga record for Bayern (365 Goals in 427 Bundesliga Matches). There is a huge gap here to #2 Klaus Fischer from Schalke (268 Goals in 535 matches).

But as you said he'll be the best foreign striker somewhere in the next years. Actually it's Pizarro with 190 Goals, Lewa has 135 Goals (according to the list below (don't know if they already have updated his 2 goals yesterday)

Yes, Eintracht has improved very much since Nico Kovacs took over. First they avoided the relegation last season and now they have the best season standing for 23 years so far (although last weekend they had no chance at Leipzig after playing for nearly the whole match with only 10 men after the red card of their goalie).
I've seen the match, it was a boring game tbh. But a win is a win ..... It was Eintracht's first win at Schalke since 1999 and coincidently it is now Schalke's worst season standing at this point since 1999, too.

HSV has to play tomorrow at #17 Ingolstadt (lost last weekend 0-1 at Schalke). We have to win this one ( a draw is the absolute minimum). Last weekend we were improved in the defense against Wolfsburg but, as usual, got a late goal. A stupid red card for Ekdal has made it all worse again because we had to play nearly 60 minutes with one man less. In the offense we couldn't create any danger. Hopefully this will change tomorrow.

Werder Bremen will get its usual hammering against Bayern (imo). But the Top match will be #2 Leipzig vs #3 Hoffenheim. This should be interesting to watch. Hoffenheim still the only unbeaten team in the Bundesliga (7-10-0), they can't afford to lose this one because Leipzig is already 8 points ahead (Bayern 11 pts). But I think the RB Offense is too much for them and I expect a 2-0 win

Gladbach's poor form continues. They could only draw at Darmstadt last week (who got demolished 1-6 by Köln this afternoon) and are 0-2 down at Leverkusen at half-time with no hint of a revolt. They could be in serious trouble.

Noticed that - the guy at BL must be under some pressure as they haven't performed as expected.

No, it didn't. FFS, 1-3 loss against #17 Ingolstadt, that hurts.
That bloody Winterbreak has changed all. Before we were on the up with 6 points from 3 matches and now 2 away matches with 2 losses, 1-4 goals. Same old story.
About time we are playing again in the Volksparkstadion, haven't seen it for over 5 weeks now. Leverkusen is the next opponent, who made another Clown match, leading 2-0 against Gladbach and then losing 3-2 :D

Werder Bremen will get its usual hammering against Bayern (imo). But the Top match will be #2 Leipzig vs #3 Hoffenheim.

Only 2-1 Bayern but a win is a win

This should be interesting to watch. Hoffenheim still the only unbeaten team in the Bundesliga (7-10-0), they can't afford to lose this one because Leipzig is already 8 points ahead (Bayern 11 pts). But I think the RB Offense is too much for them and I expect a 2-0 win

2-1 in the end then for RB. So the Bundesliga hasn't an unbeaten team anymore. And after Hoffenheim's loss Eintracht Frankfurt now up to 3rd.

Switched over to the Leverkusen match when Arsenal were cruising at half-time, and I wasn't disappointed. You don't get many dull games in German football do you. :)

Don't think Schmidt is in that much trouble though. Looks to be a decent manager but reckon his side were just beaten by a better side.

Yo Dirk, off to Hamburg in 2 weeks. Counting the days now. Can't wait to visit the Weserstadion. Hopefully it's not as cold as when I visited the Volkpark (-7 in a 0-3 home defeat to Schalke). Bremen will be hosting Gladbach so should be good.

Bundesliga report were announced midweek.

some figures:

Bundesliga Clubs made a combinied profit of 206 million Euros after taxes.

16 of the 18 teams made a profit

In average 42200 Fans were visiting a Bundesliga Match

over 19000 were doing the same in the second Bundesliga (all time record)

only 32.6 percent of the income of an Bundesliga club ends in the players pocket. (in the EPL over 70 %). All in all the players earn 1.058 billion Euros. Reus earns only a third of what Rooney gets.

where the money comes from:

TV deal: 933 Millions
sponsoring: 772 Millions
Match day: 532 millions
Merchandising: 202 millions

furthermore the 3. Liga signed a 130 million Euros TV deal. from 17/18 onwards all 380 games will be shown live and in HD. So it will be possible to watch any match from to Top 3 leagues live.

I'd have a lot of time for the 3rd tier if they didn't allow Buli reserves sides in.

Top average in Europe (and worldwide) again. Although not the all time Bundesliga record but still way more than any other Top football league (although we have the likes of Darmstadt and Ingolstadt with tiny stadiums and "lost" Stuttgart and Hannover, both with averages of 50.000, to the 2nd League (which has now an all time record itself due to both relegated clubs)

I'd have a lot of time for the 3rd tier if they didn't allow Buli reserves sides in.

Yeah, that's a shite decision. Those 2nd teams of the Bundesliga teams are annoying, they can't get promoted and are blocking a place of another club. Don't know the exact numbers but I doubt that they are attracting many fans. Those teams should play in an own Reserve League.

Interesting. Which channel?
So we can still watch St.Pauli and 1860 Munich live next season :D

Thought so. I skipped Deutsche Telekom as my ISP 2 years ago and don't have the intention to use it again.

Saw a tweet a while back with loads of Dortmund fans travelling to watch their reserves. Don't think other clubs have a big following tbh.

In about an hour I am on my way to the Volksparkstadion to watch the first HSV win in 2017 (one of many :D ). Last home match was on Dec20th so it's about time to see the "Dino" again at Home.
The winter break wasn't good for the HSV because afterwards the team played again like the beginning of the season. They lost their momentum (6pts in the last 3 matches before the break). But today this will change (fingers crossed)!

Indeed. Massive win for Hamburg that. Of course a lot of people will be questionning the quality of Leverkusen rather than Hamburg's.

Yes, massive win. OK, Leverkusen was disastrous and with a performance like that they have no chance to reach an Europa League place for next season not to mention even a 4th place for the CL next season. Hard times at Leverkusen, not that I am bothered :D . Ironic that it was Papadopoulos (came in January from Leverkusen) who made the goal. That's football.
OK, Calhanoglus was missed dearly after the FIFA decided that he's banned the whole season for something that happened in 2011 (as a 17 year old he made a contract at Trabzonspor while playing in Karlsruhe but then decided to stay in Germany. He was under the impression that the contract in Trabzonspor was only valid if he doesn't extent his contract at Karlsruhe. Now 5 years later he's hammered about that )

Today I am watching Hertha BSC against Ingolstadt. Hopefully our Capital players do us a favour and win against those pesky ones.

Evening game is #4 Dortmund vs #2 Leipzig. First time that Leipzig will play against the "yellow wall". Unfortunately some key players are missed due to red card (Forsberg) or illness (Timo Werner, Sabitzer, Demme). Big pressure on Dortmund and even Tuchel to win this one. (my tip: 2-1 Dortmund)

Last but not least: Congratulations to Philipp Lahm who'll make today his 500th appearance in a competition match for Bayern (only 8 players have done it before at Bayern)

Having a day of the football, got Chelsea v Arsenal on just now, then watching Liverpool disappoint against Hull later, and then I'll put this on after that!

Gonna go for a Desmond for this one.

Actually I am watching Chelsea vs Arsenal, too (with one eye ©Bilo :D )

"go for a Desmond"? What does that mean? (I'm always eager to learn something new in English)

, now I get it.

Nearly half-time and Borussia is 1-0 in front. Not the top match yet but I didn't expect it after Borussia's recent results and Leipzig's Team without some of their top players.

Bayern only got a 1-1 at home against Schalke. Leipzig could close the gap to 1point with a win but it doesn't look like it at the moment. Let's see what the second half brings.

Good win for your boys in the cup Dirk..

Few surprise packages this season it seems whilst some bigger names are fading.

On a more negative note read about some quite nasty violence at the Dortmund v RB Leipzig game.

A fourth substitution is only allowed for matches in extra time.

I see that you are from Köln: No mentioning of today's 1/8 final match between HSV and Köln? :D

Good win for your boys in the cup Dirk..

Indeed. That was the best match of HSV in this season and this with 6 changes. A very good match with lots of chances, especially in the 2nd half.
First Quarterfinal for HSV since 2013/14 (0-5 vs Bayern). So hopefully we don't get Bayern again in the Quarterfinal.

Yes, unfortunately. Some Borussia Fans attacked Leipzig Fans outside the stadium (even women with children). The police are investigating video evidence. These morons will be banned for life-time. And this after Borussia Fans (together with Liverpool fans) recently got an award for their behaviour in those 2 Europa League matches last year.
And in the stadium there were some really hateful banners against the "model RB". You don't have to like the way RB came into existence but these banners were way over the top and those criminals who attacked innocent fans from Leipzig, too. This has made huge headlines here in Germany especially because it's not the usual behaviour of the Borussia Fans (Over 99 percent are friendly and peaceful fans )

Because of the incidents at the Borussia Dortmund vs RB Leipzig match (Hateful Banners against the RB Concept in the South-Tribune and other incidents in the stadium) the supervisory committee of the German FA (DFB) has now pressed for a complete closure of the South-Tribune (known as yellow wall) for one Bundesliga match and furthermore a money fine of 100.000 Euro.

Note: The German FA can only punish incidents in the stadium. The incidents around the stadium are investigated by the police.
