Good start for your boys Dirk!

Indeed. Never expected this. 6 from 6 and 3 Goals in 1 match (no one hurt himself this time). Top of the table :D

Curious: FIFA Referee Felix Brych had to be replaced due to an injury by the 4th Official Sören Storks. It was his first ever Bundesliga match (before this he only was in the 2.Bundesliga) and in his first minute on the field he gave HSV Defender Mavraj (already booked) a yellow card and sent him off :D (first time ever that a substitute referee showed a red card).

Awesome stoppage time (13 minutes because of the long delay with the referees injury) . Cologne suddenly with the 1-2 in the 97th minute and the HSV answered straight away with a brilliant run and pass of Ekdal and goal from Lewis Holtby.

btw: Pathetic acting from Papadopoulos after Cologne's goal where he "simulated" . Idiot. We now have video evidence in the Bundesliga and he was booked for this bad acting. Rightly so, we don't want to see such shite.

Schalke v Hamburg in November for me and possibly Mainz v Koln. Went to Leverkusen last season which was class. They lost 2-3 at home to Leipzig.

Those grounds are far apart. Great couple of dos though man. Schalke is the best atmosphere while a decent, proper, no-nonsense ground.
Tbh, all German grounds are. Except Karlsruhe.

Staying in Koln so Mainz is doable on the Saturday. Stuttgart are playing on the Friday but they are at home to Dortmund so it will be sold out I'm guessing? Will Koln take many fans to Mainz?!

Koln take loads of fans everywhere. One of the biggest clubs in the country. I need to do that ground real bad.

Yeah, I've looked at trying to do a Koln/Dortmund double header - Koln is harder to get tickets than BVB!!

Bibiana Steinhaus will referee the Sunday match between Hertha BSC Berlin and Werder Bremen and so this will be the first Bundesliga match with a female referee (she was promoted this year after refereeing) many years in the 2nd Bundesliga).
On this occasion Hertha ( btw: a female german first name) will give a 50% ticket discount for all women who want to watch the match in the Olympic-Stadium

HSV will play again on Friday evening. This time at home against RB Leipzig. Hopefully our new "Bomber" for the National-team, Timo Werner (6 Goals in 8 Matches for Germany) takes a little scoring break.

That's ridiculous.

Hamburg lost 0-2 to Red Bull. Augustin played but didn't score.

That's ridiculous.

I find it "très charmant" :D. Who else than a football club with a female name could do it to "honour" the first Bundesliga match of a female referee?.....and to "boost" the crowd average a bit. I hope it pays off for them and they'll beat the stinking fish club

Hamburg lost 0-2 to Red Bull.

And the Liverpool fan(boy)s are already beginning to wank about Naby Keita Don't do this too often in the following 10 months (where you won't have him), scousers. Could make you blind :D (and no, I don't mean the dragon with "scouser")

Augustin played but didn't score.

Top Talent, heard that he was sent home after a France U21(?) match because he wasn't pleased that the coach had replaced him and made fuzz about it so that the coach suspended him?
The other french in the RB team, Upamecano (?, hope I've written it correct) was very good in the defense, still 18 year old.

...woah, Timo Werner's run was class I have to admit it. Big chance for the HSV and then a classical counterattack and 12 seconds later we were down 0-2. Maybe I jinxed it with my last post (taking a scoring break)?

Anyway, HSV wasn't bad at all (and we improved a lot compared to last seasons 0-4 at home against RB) but Leipzig is way better and the win for Leipzig is deserved.
Will be interesting to see how they'll play their first ever european match against AS Monaco in the CL. Will they be too intimidated or will they play their style?

You did hold the score to goalless until 67 minutes. Impressive in some way. Are you finally going to have a good season? Maybe Europe?

I don't believe it will be enough for an European spot given our small squad. Nicolai Müller out for 7 months, Aaron Hunt injured and yesterday Kostic (and 18year old Rick van Drongelen) which I hope won't be for long otherwise we'll get problems soon enough (again).

Yo D, how does a Kiel/Hamburg game sound like next season in the Bundesliga? The lads from even further north than Hamburg (yes, it's possible) have started brightly in the Zwei (won at Aue 3-0) and could be looking up.
Fürth and Lautern occupy the bottom spots though. Worrying times for those two big(ish) clubs.

Won't happen. Schleswig Holstein is the only of our 16 federal states which had never a club in the (football) Bundesliga (although Holstein Kiel was once German Football-Champion....in 1912, the pre-Bundesliga era. :D ) .
It's more known for their excellent clubs in the (handball) Bundesliga (with Kiel being our record champion and Flensburg).
Nah, although I would be pleased to see Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga but I think they won't get promoted again and will play with (St.Pauli) Hamburg in the 2nd for the next years. It's their 1st season in the 2nd tier for 36years and they are actually playing refreshing football but the season is long.

btw: Hannover 96 on top atm for the first time since 1969! The Lower Saxons are coming, beware!

Not anymore ;).

BVB have had a strong start this campaign. Clearly not missing Dembele so far.

Things not looking good for Köln though. Some seriously worrying performances so far.

Wolfsburg have sacked Andries Jonker, a former Arsenal academy boss, and replaced him with former Mainz manager Martin Schmidt.

Another team who have started poorly.

Yes, and it puts Arsenal 3-1 into perspective. Köln lost all 4 Bundesliga matches so far, even at home against HSV ;) (although they intend to protest against the Video Evidence at the Dortmund match.)

Wolfsburg is pretty much clueless since 2 years after winning against Real Madrid in the CL (can't even believe they were there). Last year they sacked 2 coaches and when Andries Joncker came they made a big ballyhoo as if the saviour came and now a few months later it's groundhog day again for the Wolves. They should build their cars in Wolfsburg and let the real clubs play football. Time to piss off from the Bundesliga, Volkswagen club ;)

Indeed - I haven't seen what happened but did read about the BVB game, and why Koln are unhappy. Was it that the ref blew his whistle for HT before the ball crossed the line?

And no surprise to see Joncker sacked to be honest. Wolfsburg have been uninspiring ever since KDB left them. Be interesting to see tonight if Bayern can get a win at the Veltins Arena - I think they need it really to consolidate a good week at home.

Not many standout games really - can see this game week being quite tight and a few draws around.

Bayern 2-0 up at Schalke. A Lewa pen and James with his first goal in Germany. Shame as Schalke aren't playing badly and Bayern aren't that good. Schalke scored a goal earlier but it was rightly ruled out for offside.

I'll be watching Hamburg/BvB tomorrow evening, D.

Good start for HSV tonight. Shame they can't defend set-pieces though. Some things never change.
I find Dortmund extremely underwhelming this season. Saw them at Spurs last week and Aubameyang looks just wasted as an actual #9 rather than a false one. Loving the look of Yarmolenko though. Love that player. Pulisic is still a bit meh to me.

Bayern were 2 up - but held.

Good start for the new Wolfsburg manager.

Same procedure as every year.... After 2 wins in the first 2 matches we are "back on track" with 4 consecutive losses and 0-10 Goals. :shut:
