Seen Morrissey on Friday. Was amazing. Played very graphic video during Meat is Murder which was a bit uncomfortable.

System of a down at Wembley Friday. Looking likely to be a 35 song/2 and a half hour set. Can't wait.

Bought a ticket for The View this evening at the last minute. Means I'm seeing Them, The Wombats and Circa Waves in the next 5 days. Not bad!

Of recent gigs, The Cribs was my favourite. Even better live than I imagined. Little Comets/Catfish and The Bottlemen were fun as well, but too many 14 year old fan girls milling about being annoying.

Saw The Wombats at Brixton Academy on Monday and they were bloody brilliant. First time I've been there and I have to say what a great venue it is as well.

Saw Wombats in Leadmill on the back of my mate saying they're one of the worst bands he'd seen live (We've both seen an awful lot of gigs) but were impressed. Loving Glitterbug.

The crowd for The View was disappointing, but expected. They still put on a good show, can't wait to see them in Scotland.

Saying that, I'm writing this on the back of the BEST gig(s) of my life in Circa Waves at Rescue Rooms on Monday and Shepherd's Bush Academy tonight. At the latter especially I was blown away by their chemistry. It was obvious Kieran & Co. are loving every minute and they get better every time I see them. Such down to earth lads to talk to, who have a lot of time for their fans, which I've been fortunate enough to do at long spells a few times now. Can't wait to see them in Berlin a week Monday, supported by Sundara Karma, a band I'm quite into at the moment.

On that note, Dexters supported The View. Quite enjoyable, would probably see them at their own gig. Darlia were wank supporting The Wombats. Ratboy, who supported CW, was awesome. Think Panic Prevention era Jamie T in looks/sound. Gengahr were a bit meh, but they're not my scene.

Went to Heaton Park on Friday for the Courteeners and what a day that was. Getting goosebumps thinking back at how good it was. :shifty:

Best weekend of my life. No exaggeration.

Anyone that knows me vaguely will know this band are so fucking special and mean so much to me. Sycophant, and the final four songs were unreal, but my highlight was The Opener. That song has got me through some bad times, and to stand there in that field belting it out with 4 of my closest mates is a memory I'll cherish forever. God Bless the band.

I'll never go to a gig better than Courteeners at Heaton Park.

They're my favourite band by some distance anyway, but that show far exceeded anything I thought was possible in live music. Obviously the fans, the energy and the atmosphere was a big reason behind that.

There's no point picking out a favourite bit because it was all so good. Acrylic acoustic was a nice touch though, everyone really got behind that.

My favorite tune of theirs... Sycophant. I was stood on the hill to the left! I live up the road from them.

Started off in the middle near the front and it was just ridiculous, then we moved back a bit, was a lot better and enjoyable. Great day all round including great atmosphere on the tram and in the pub beforehand.

Seems like a fair few of us made it this weekend, what a night! Day was great from start to finish, so many highlights. Whilst it's an obvious choice and alot of people have this thing against it, I can't look back past that rendition of Not Nineteen Forever, I mean, it normally goes off when they drop that but Friday was fucking unreal.

"Heaton Fuckin' Park".

We did the exact same, thought 'fuck this' when we saw lads on the ground during cavorting not being helped up and pretty much trampled. Moved to the side and it was a 'normal' Courteeners crowd/no dickheads.

Found this video, had it on repeat. 25 seconds - HEATON FUCKING PARK! - bedlam.

Saw Brix and the Extricated at Leeds recently. Made up of ex-members of The Fall. Played some of the oldies which Smith refuses to do so it was rather good.

Catches the reaction after the 'HEATON FUCKING PARK' perfectly. I've been looking for that video for a number of days now. I'm hoping the DVD does it justice.

Catfish and the Bottlemen at Manchester Apollo and Imagine Dragons at the MEN in November. Can't wait - especially for Catfish.

Going to see them in Nottingham come August! I can't wait, It's very rare I take to a band as quick as I did them, too, but they're excellent!

I'm amazed they've still not been signed yet.

Good to hear. I have just booked to see these in Sound Control in Manchester in September.

Maybe at that gig too, we come back from Ipswich via Nottingham.

T in The Park was a laugh. Courteeners highlight by an absolute mile, better than Heaton Park. The View, Circa Waves, Cribs and Coasts also get a mention. Saw Stereophonics do Dakota and Proclaimers Sunshine On Leith which were genuine goosebump moments.

Let downs of the weekend were; Libertines (simply not a festival band), Kasabian weren't that good and had to leave Noel as I was bored so saw the back end of Prodigy's set which looked insane....The less said about The Vaccines the better.

What's said about Scottish crowds is true though, they could probably go mad for anything.

I have got the tickets and treating the girlfriend to her very first, most likely her last, dirty indie night out. I don't know how she will take to it but I'm hoping well.

I watched a lot of it at the weekend and I was close to tears on a number of occasions, it looked insane. Kasabian looked very good on the TV, mind, perhaps different atmosphere when you're there.

I was told it was mostly 16-year-olds off their face on various narcotics at T, too. The crowd certainly looked young!

I just don't like Kasabian that much and find them very, very underwhelming. Yeah the crowd was good, but as said the Scots seem to go mad for anything (meaning it was some of the best I've ever seen). Not even kidding when I say 25 mins prior to Courteeners there were mosh pits to S-Club 7 ffs. A Barrowlands gig is firmly near the top of my music bucket list after this weekend.

I'm 18 so didn't really notice the age of the crowd to be honest! Agree about drugs, Reading was bad, but christ. Never been asked for or offered pills/ecstasy/Ket so much in my life. Some of the gurns were comical, I was genuinely close to tears at Circa Waves at this lad in a middle of a mosh pit was having to lean back his gurn was so bad. Poor guy could barely open his eyes.

Would definitely do TITP again mind, way more enjoyable than Reading although that might be because we had a decent group this time and the people we camped next to were incredibly sound.
