No, it is odd. They remind me of early Arctic Monkeys stuff which is why I really like it. Just exactly my type of music.

I'm a big Arctic Monkeys fan but I don't really see the similarities myself, I suppose it's about timing though. Arctic Monkey's demos hit when I was leaving school, while Courteener's became popular in my first year of uni and the only song I knew was 'Not nineteen forever'.

Saw the Sherlocks in Nottingham on Saturday. The worst place I have ever been to see a live band, but undoubtedly one of the best bands I have ever seen.

Outstanding, and will definitely go on to much bigger and much better things.

Gig was cut two songs short after some twonk let off a bloody flare! The venue wasn't much bigger than my bedroom... :bl:
Glad you liked them fella

So the end of 2015 is neigh and 2016 is soon to be upon us. Which gigs have we been to this year then and which was your favourite?

Courteeners at Heaton Park
The Sherlocks at Sound Control
Courteeners at O2 Apollo
Catfish and the Bottlemen at O2 Apollo
Imagine Dragons at O2 Apollo
The Enemy at The Ritz
Sam Smith at O2 Apollo *Girlfriend made me go*

Favourite: Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Looking forward to seeing what 2016 brings as I already have The Libertines tickets at the MEN courtesy of a Christmas present. Probably have to start cutting down due to moving house around March time.

For me the highlight was Fleetwood Mac at the O2. Been 35+ years since I last saw that lineup and they have got better with age. Sublime.

I have been to:
Frank Turner at the Ally Pally and a nightclub in Kingston.
Libertines at the Ally Pally.
Royal Blood at Camden roundhouse and somewhere else that I cant remember.

Glastonbury (not really a gig, but it is music with loads of drunk/high people so it counts in my mind).

Only went to 3 gigs this year, bit thin on the ground, weirdly From The Jam was my fave gig of the year.

Was going to the libertines in Jan but not sure I can make it now. Thought about the coral in march maybe the foals.

Meant to be seeing Fun Lovin' Criminals on Saturday for their "Come Find Yourself" 20th Anniversary show, however my missus' due date is the same day.

We both still want to go so there's a fair chance my daughter could be born during Scooby Snacks....

Slipknot at the Ally Pally last Wednesday were brilliant. Wish I'd got tickets to the Tuesday night aswell in hindsight.

Manics booked for Liberty Stadium on May 28th for the Everything Must Go anniversary.
Stone Roses booked at the Etihad in June.
Also saw Crosa Rosa and Harken recently, both local Nottingham bands. Crosa Rosa are basically Nirvana reborn and Harken, are alt rock/metal band, not really my cup of tea however.

Haven't got anything booked up yet but me and a few friends have been talking about it, there's many bands I like playing this year, only thing is we're meant to be going to the euros at the same time

If you haven't been before I'd defo choose it over the Euros. I did all the old Ozzfests from 2001 I think, then changed to download festival somewhere down the line. I couldn't hack the whole weekend these days though. Plus it's only a 35-40 min drive from me

Saw Spring King last night, nothing amazing but decent enough.

Will probably give their album a download when it's out next month.
