Went to HRH Stoner v Doom Festival in Sheffield the other week, Raging Speedhorn, Orange Goblin and BongCauldron were amazing.

Going to see Jonah Matranga (Far, onelinedrawing, Gratitude) do a solo show on Monday, can't wait.

I had no idea Raging Speedhorn were still going!

Split up in 2008 and reformed a couple of years ago with both original vocalists. Released a new album which is an absolute belter and live they're better than ever.

Met the Orange Goblin vocalist at Camden Rocks in June, awesome guy and sick band

Both them and Raging Speedhorn have a gig in London in December, may go along to it

Alter Bridge, supported by Into the Storm, Gojira and Volbeat.

What a show that was, Gojira were insane and Myles Kennedy is just the man. Wow.

Went to the London one, Gojira were immense as expected, didn't like volbeat but I enjoyed alter bridge.

Next time gojira are over here I hope they aren't supporting two rock bands... definitely the wrong crowd for them

Our crowd went mental for both Gojira and Volbeat, I read somewhere the former are Alter Bridge's favourite band.

Oh yes I have my ticket to that already

Just seen Max and Iggor Cavalera, play roots in full amongst other songs, insane gig, huge crowd and a massive pit, just what I like

Sepultura, completely forgot they existed.

Not heard much of Devin Townsend Project, heard a bit of Strapping Young Lad and enjoy them but from what I've heard of this is it's amazing. Devin has so much intensity and stage presence it's frightening. Currently watching an interview with him and I can listen to him talk for hours.

If I do get tickets for this, I'm mainly going for TesseracT.

Devin Townsend is amazing, so versatile, seems like such a nice guy and loves what he does, he deserves his popularity. I loved Strapping Young Lad but it won't be anything like that, don't know what you would class it as, progressive epic metal?! who knows haha

Good work mate, they will blow the venue to bits. Make sure you're either not drinking or are suitably refreshed upon arrival as getting to the bar will be next to impossible during this show.

May 9th - Mayday Parade (playing A Lesson In Romantics in full) & Knuckle Puck @ Webster Hall in NYC
May 11th - State Champs & Against The Current & Don Broco & With Confidence @ Irving Plaza in NYC

Could repeat the last one the day later too. I may also be flying over just to see these shows too.

My friend has invited me to the Meshuggah gig in Notts... Can't say it's my thing but it's been quiet on the gig front.

That will be one hell of a show, I'm not a massive fan but I'd go just to watch the technical masterclass those guys possess.

Knuckle Puck at The Fighting Cocks in Kingston in June. That will be a tiny tiny but amazing show.

If anyone wants to go to the Alter Bridge gig at the Royal Albert Hall on 3rd October I'm selling my tickets as I've managed to wangle myself some promoter tickets. I'm after £80 for the pair.

In terms of accommodation for about £12 you can get digs in a hostel which is what I'm doing.

Got a few gigs lined up in the upcoming 9 months or so. Seeing Queens of the Stone Age in Manchester in November, Gogol Bordello and Lucky Chops in Nottingham in December and Arcade Fire in April at NIA, Birmingham. Also hoping to see At The Drive In and Death From Above 1979 in March but will have to see about that.

Good taste.

Unsure on the Qotsa gig as it stands, but i'll be seeing At the Drive-In & DFA, saw Arcade Fire at Castlefield Bowl a few months back so will probably leave this tour.

Saw Cabbage last night in Preston, decent enough, nothing amazing, the support, The Blinders were better imo.

Likewise my good man.

How was the Castlefield Bowl gig? Me and the missus were looking to go to that but didn't because of the little one.

Cabbage are an odd one. Saw them earlier this year at the Handmade Festival in Leicester. I liked them even if they are a bit over hyped. They reminded me like a cross between The Libertines and The Doors.

25 minute interval at the Alter Bridge gig, the Parallax Orchestra sounds absolutely incredible. This band pulls at my heart strings.

Edit: Just got home, it's been a long day but that was the best live show I've ever been to. Myles Kennedy has an unbelievable vocal range. I love him.

The Castlefield Bowl gig was great but pricey, pushing £60 and the organisation wasn't great, we were lucky we managed to sneak into the queue or else we would have missed the first 2 or 3 songs, security went at a snail's pace. Arcade Fire are pretty faultless live though.

Yeah they're a great band live. I've had the pleasure of watching them of at the NEC when they were touring "The Suburbs" and back in the summer of 2014 in Dublin when them and the Pixies played Marlay Park. Still the best gig I've gone too, especially as the atmosphere was great around the city with the World Cup being on. 'Twas a great feeling being crowdsurfed through the Rathmines by a group of 20 Brazilians for saying that I liked Luis Gustavo!
