Our referee for the trip to Bradford is Carl Boyeson. We've not won in 18 games spanning 12 years, while he's been officiating and makes Breakspear look good, Think our lingering promotion hopes will take a severe dent on Friday.

As you say Chris, FGR have taken more than one coach to a FEW games this season.
That was my point - two coaches to Barrow is exceptional and game will probably be best attended Barrow v FGR fixture ever. Normally FGR away support at this fixture is one of the lowest for club of any game during season.
My admiration therefore goes out to the many supporters who are prepared to endure an 11/12 hour round trip to the longest cul-de-sac in England. I've done it a few times and know how boring the trip can be.
11-12 hours ? come on, you're halfway there already bauy , only 8 hrs roundtrip travel for you - the actual game/drink time don't count.

It was an utterly unpopular decision to change the traditional name by the then management.
Their thinking was that 'Stroud' being the local town would increase attendance.
It did not and the fans hated the name. They conducted a successful high profile campaign to return club's name back to 'Forest Green Rovers'.
It worked.
Dale Vince is aware of this in club's history and vowed to retain the name Forest Green Rovers when club moves 15 miles to Eco Park in Eastington.

I think when club was created the shirts were black/white stripes until Vince changed them to Green. Initially not popular but Vince didn't back down and Green has become colour associated with FGR.
Sorry but you are black and white stripes to me. Give it a few more years though.

Crawley Town's first mention was a request to the local FA to change colour from blue to red as we clashed with too many other clubs. I've never forgiven them for that and that was 1896.

Nailsworth Olympic has a nice ring to it

Back in the mid 70's when our ex football league inter city rivals Bradford Park Avenue were going to the wall, it was suggested by the local council that we merge and do away with 'City' and 'Avenue' and call us Bradford Metro FC, you can well imagine how that went down with our fans. Needless to say it didn't happen
That is almost as bad as the idea to merge Reading and Oxford and call them Thames Valley Royals in the early 80's...needless to say it didn't attract much support from the fans.

Mind you, if the idea had been proposed by anyone other than Robert Maxwell (nicknamed the bouncing Czech by Private Eye, due to a myriad of financial irregularities that he was involved in...allegedly) then it might have had a greater chance of success.

Good news for us that Worrall should be ok to play tomorrow after he limped off with a hip injury against Oldham. Certainly Hussey when he came on last week looked rusty so not sure he could have managed a full game tomorrow.

Think all being well the plan would be Worrall in this game then Gibbons against Bristol Rovers on Monday.

Gibbons would be good against their winger but a big ask to throw him straight into a 90.

Huge game tomorrow, with Mansfield being essentially neck and neck bar goal difference any slip up could feel critical, I would feel much more comfy if we can win and they drop points so we have an insurance on not needing to keep winning!

Wozza being fit is a boost, just got to keep our heads and do our job then we wont have to worry about elsewhere I guess.

Think if we are to finish top 3 we’ve got make ground tomorrow than lose it, be worse off tomorrow and it’s game over.

Mansfield haven’t lost to a top half side this season at home, unbeaten at home since the 2nd october and are going for 12 home wins on the bounce.

Vale are at hartlepool (though on a great run) though hartlepool recently drew against mansfield and FG.

I'm not sure there's a single game today without something riding on it, a lot of tie's with both teams still needing something. I suspect a lot of ties sharing points again today. A very competitive league this year. I doubt much more will have been decided come 5.00pm Monday. Finally good weather for it what ever happens.

We probably wouldn’t set up for a point but we’ll be more cautious and pragmatic in going forward, but our general approach isn’t too different from a home game.

As mentioned by others our home record is better than our away record, and that in part can be explained by not really changing our general style of play.

If what I hear about you being good at set-pieces you should focus on that, we love giving away free headers in the box. To be honest even Scunthorpe were given a golden opportunity via one before we scored on Saturday.

1-0 to Exeter.

Was a bit worried this was going the same way as last week, ie dominating the game but unable to score. Happy to have got a first half goal for once.

That was utterly dominant. All the possession, hit the post and should be more.
Just need to keep this going.

No Worrall so a striker playing wing back. Not ideal at all!

I see some excuses coming out early from the form teams just in case they dont win? We have a 37 year old starting up front but you dont hear me complaining

We've got a teenager in goal making his second FL appearance, Jake Hull Centre back from Rotherham making his full debut (barely played a minute since Jan) no Featherstone, Odusina, Molyneux not fit enough to start. You'd be surprised if Vale don't get anything today.
