I’m actually confident going into a game for once, can’t say I’ve felt like this for a few years.

2-1 Shakers, how many are Carlisle bringing down?

Have absolutely no idea how many fans we’re bringing because Bury didn’t send any away tickets so it’s pay on the day unless people have already bought them directly from Bury FC.

Not sure if this is the norm and Bury do this for every away following or maybe they don’t think Carlisle will bring many fans.

Despite the result last week it was actually a reasonable performance I thought. But still a defeat is a defeat and the worrying lack of quality to finish chances off was there for all to see. Playing decent yet still being toothless and losing 2-0 at home is the sign of a team heading only one way sadly.

However despite the positives from last week I can’t see anything other than a very easy Bury win today. We’ve been lucky with some of the wins we’ve picked up so far particularly away from home with teams being guilty of missing chance after chance, but I expect Bury to be even more efficient and they will no doubt take a fair amount of the numerous golden chances they’ll get against us. We’ve fell well short in the 3 games we’ve played against the better sides in this league and although I don’t think Bury have been as good as they are capable of being, I do expect them to be much better than the teams we’ve scraped wins against.

Playing reasonably well (for an away team playing against better quality players) but have absolutely nothing going forward due to really shit standard of players in that area and have rode our luck a couple of times at the back.

Would take this 0-0 right now.

You have to wonder when our luck is going to run our, but at the moment I don’t care it’s just great that we’re getting these results. Anthony Gerrard has made a huge difference to our back line.

I’ve been watching Bury for over 20 years. I’m used to us losing to much much worse teams.

You're a massive club at this level, kind of like Leeds were when they were in L1.

Everyone wants to see you fail because of your snotty attitude towards this league since you came down here. So every defeat for Bury is a win for L2!

from what I gather on the bury message board, only those in the immediate vicinity knew what was going on but most of the fans of both clubs had no idea, and the commentators on the radio made no mention of it either.

also, what on earth happened in the last ten minutes. We had the best disciplinary record in the league going into this match and then in a short space of time we have 4 players booked and one sent off for dissent. Had something wound them up?

You should have had two sent off imo, striker, number 14? Completely took out either Aimson or McFadzean off the ball as they were both chasing a ball back to the GK. Straight red any day, even if it was a Bury player I’d say the same, off the ball and he’s just hacked him down. Only got a yellow.

Carlisle also had a golden opportunity to kill the game in injury time after an intercepted pass on Carlisle’s left side. Carlisle player had ages to place the ball but chose to lash it into the side netting instead, anyone else who was there will know the chance I mean.

Apart from that can’t fault the Carlisle performance, defended very well under pressure. I’m not too concerned by this result as I still think we had most of the game but a poor corner (from our perspective) let us down.

Also, despite the boos, Adams played very well and was very unlucky not to score in the first half after his first time curling effort hit the underside of the bar. Seemed to shut the Carlisle fans up a bit after that.

Sheridan has done a hell of a lot with very little, and we've also really dug deep for a lot of our good results.
