Yeah the were scrapping near the treaty of commerce before the game, proper handbags!
Inbetween the snow showers!
Was allover social media at the time.
I think I have seen it in that case, it seemed like one of those in which nobody actually wanted to fight but everyone wanted to seem like they did. Embarrassing all round.

I just await the inevitable Twitter meltdown from our fans if we lose this as after the FGR and Rochdale games we’re doomed to relegation but after beating Macc we’re on for promotion.
I’m expecting defeat here as I know Lincoln fans won’t admit this (except Impish) but Lincoln are certainties for promotion this year with that squad so no disgrace if we do lose to em, however some of our Twitter element will not see it that way.

Hopefully!
Playoff final defeat for you this season, Cowleys to Southend in the summer. Grimsby to roll out our "ETERNALLY UNDER YOUR SHADOW (FOR TWO OF THE THREE SEASONS THE COWLEYS WERE THERE)" banner as we clinch the title against you at Blundell Park in April 2020.

Lincoln and Grimsby fans been up in court today and yesterday for scrapping by all accounts. Lincoln knuckledraggers allowed to come to the match this weekend but will miss their next three home matches as punishment. The Grimsby oafs? 3 year banning orders. Now, I'm not condoning anyone that causes bother at the footy. Fuck the lot of them, for me. But if you're gonna do so, do it with at least semblance of equality. That's a scandalous difference.
I've no idea of the circumstances but surely the sentences given out indicate the two sets of fans didn't behave in the exact same manner?

Top three finish for the Imps, Cowley rejects another 20,000 jobs (having already turned down Forest, Barnsley and Ipswich - Southend, wtf?), we continue to average 8/9k and the Cods finsh in 16th, with John Shelton Fenty still at the helm. Meanwhile we battle it with Scunny for the mantle of Lincolnshire's finest while you continue to tread water in the bottom half of L2, desperately clinging on to your former glories.

Yeah, that's a bizarre suggestion - they'll go way higher than Southend when they finally do move on.

I'll doubt they'll go very far very soon, they've just moved up here with their families.
Unless one of the big local clubs come calling , like you guys again of course....

They already turned down Southend, so they're another one to tick off the list.

Yes because my post was meant to be taken completely seriously, Jizzbert.

That's a good quality zinger there, I'll give you that one.

I went to Market Rasen races a few weeks back. There were quite a few coppers at the station afterwards. A kid told me it was to prevent a repeat of last year where Cod and Imps were at it in a cross-platform battle.
Some people just can't help themselves.

I’ve just been chatting with a Lincoln fan in Morrisons who asked me if I thought we’d win tomorrow, I said no but surprisingly he thinks we’ll beat them.
Maybe he just decided that wearing a Lincoln top in Grimsby the day before the Derby was a bit daft and decided modesty was the best option. ;)

Defensive masterclass needed from us tomorrow, or I fear we will be over run. Some say attack is the best form of defense, hope we go about it that way, but I doubt it.

Fuck I'm so jealous, a L2 derby. Fucking hell. L2. Reading this forum is like a day release from prison. Oh my god. Antony Elding = Ronaldo, Alan Power = Patrick Viera.
Missed this before, aren't you a Hartlepool fan? Remember when took a few of our best players and went around like you all had nuts the size of beach balls? And you tried so desperately to make us a rival?

That was actually hilarious when Grimsby approached the Cowleys.

" Erm, Danny, Nicky... that 5 bedroom house you currently reside in, you know, the one with the mortgage paid off, all bills paid for you with a nice garden, nice neighbours and plenty of room for an extension?
How do you fancy swapping that for a one bed flat, £500 a month rent with some very suspect appliances that don't work very well when you're at home and sometimes pack in completely when you're away? "

" Erm, thanks but no thanks, John. "

This is simply not true. No self respecting Lincoln fan would live in Grimsby. Having read the Fishy, however, it's clear most Grimsby fans have sought refuge in our fine city.

Pleased with the Thomas signing. Does it give me more confidence for tomorrow? No, he'll probably need 5/6 games to get up to speed. But it does give me more confidence for the season ahead. 16th instead of 17th. An actual striker-type striker and not a confused attacking midfielder. Almost giddy.

Pipe down Jizzy. I'm going to the game with one tomorrow. His daughters, however, saw sense and support the county's most successful club.

Well my brother used to reside in Grimsby, think it was Patrick St not far from People's Park? When I visited him, there were at least two people that stayed in Grimsby that were diehard Imps!

I actually used to work with a guy who lived here but was from Lincoln, funnily enough a week or two before the start of the season he said he thought Lincoln would struggle and might even go down to the Conference North, it was before the 2016/17 season. Think he got that one a little bit wrong. ;)

Thanks for your post. Certainly wasn't me, although I do remember what happened. We've got two forums. One is populated by a high percentage of divvies and I remember a few got a bit carried away, not us on here though or the main forum.

On your second point, I've never met a single Pools fan who'd class you as a rival, think you might be imagining that part. And no, Gateshead aren't our rival either. I lived two years of my life in Grimsby and have nothing against you at all. In fact I wish you all the best. Good luck tomorrow.

Hey there sassy lassy, we ain't got no beef with you Grimsby lot, true we were at most a little bit erect at taking Amond and Toto at the time, one of which had zero interest in being here and quickly sold on (100k in the kitty now from his recent sale) and the other ended up on strike to force a move to fucking Newport, so yeah cheers for that!

I think that Hartlepool fans cockiness at the time was mainly on twitter and not on here that I can remember, the Hartlepool lot on here are some of the best posters on this forum IMO.

Cheers Fish. Likewise. Weird thing is I can't even remember posting on here last night, obviously I did. Note to self: Must stay off the glue.
