So do Mansfield miss the amount of chances they did in the two games against us against all teams?

Lots of good play but then very wasteful in front of goal.

Pretty much, it’s cost us all season, that’s why we draw a lot more than we should do.

We’re getting better at turning draws into wins though

You had so many breakaways in the second half but ballsed them up that I was expecting us to equalise based purely on that, despite us never really looking like doing it apart from first 7/8 mins of the second half. Very impressive also how you closed us down quickly for the whole 90 mins giving us hardly any time on the ball, forcing us into mistakes.

We were in the first 10/15 games yes, We seem to be doing enough infront of goal now though thanks to our defence being pretty solid most weeks. 11th clean sheet in 24 games today.

We never give anyone time on the ball, the fitness of the side is what makes a small difference but it’s noticble.

Our breaks are brilliant away which is why we’ve not lost yet, the defence is very strong also. I didn’t go today so can’t comment on your showing.

The sole reason we are not top of the league by a couple of points.

We are one striker/defender injury away from disaster though, we need one of each in January.

I reckon JR will give him the money with how well it's going, we do need to shift a few though.

Think we'd miss Bishop as well if anything was to happen to him.

Yeah he went down holding the knee and I was very worried, Craig Davies is out for a few months so the only proper strikers we have now is Walker and Rose - Christ I hope Walker stays.

We’d miss bishop most of all.

We certainly need a new forward, Davies being injured makes it more troubling to move him on, and there’s the speculation over walker.

We must keep everyone we’ve got though, can’t sell anyone

Anderson is obviously not wanted, and we likely need to shift another wage too. Butcher maybe.

Think the challenge on Vernam is a penalty as well.

That Thomas chance near the start of the game should’ve ended in a goal too.

I thought it was a penalty at the end to be honest. Would've been screaming for it had it been at the other end.

Should've had the game out of sight by then anyway, guilty of missing too many chances again.

Grimsby obviously can't be too critical due to the players missing today, but you have still been a team on really good form and won the last five at home so it's a fantastic result for Mansfield.

I don't think Play-offs is beyond possible for them, I have always said you have a few players I really rate at this level (Thomas, M Rose, Pringle) Not to mention one of the best goalkeepers in the division. It will be tough like, and will rely on one or the two better teams in Exeter, Colchester, Bury etc to mess up but that's how Lincoln got in last season.
Not sure about that. You had your post-Evans implosion, but that aside, no-one else over the course of the season was good enough to warrant it being a mess up IIRC.

So do Mansfield miss the amount of chances they did in the two games against us against all teams?

Whereas we're the opposite and probably have the best goals to shots ratio in the division. We don't even seem to need to create consistently good chances either.

EDIT - Found the graph, albeit 3 weeks old now. 17th shots taken but a goal every 6 shots (next best Exeter on 7). Mansfield aren't actually *that* bad according to the stats.

We're "not that bad" as we always seemingly balls the move up before we get the shot away in the first place.

Grimsby play offs? Cant see it. Average side with a couple good players but think your good run is over now and that bog of a pitch won't help, very mid table side. Not doing too badly with that Micky mouse manager though.

We need another striker to play with walker and to score more from midfield.

At least we can host games on our bog of a pitch*.

*Which is one of the best pitches in the division.

The pitch would be better if it was level. It underlates like a farmers field.

There is a bump in one of the goal mouths for drainage purposes. It's probably an alien concept for a Mansfield fan, but that's there to aid us in not postponing matches.

None of them pictures show the suspect side - anyway it’s definitely not up to our standard so that’s another win for Mansfield. YEAR OF THE STAG.

I never noticed it’s sinking either!

Seriously though DF and Bish mentioned the pitch.
