Fuck me, got our own thread.
Better get the post count up.
Or whatever.
2-1 vale, we’re on it.
Was it last year there was a bit of bother? Or year before?
Why the fuck we have mither with Grimsby? It makes no no sense.
Stop off at brigg travelling valiants, lots of cracking boozers there.

Of course there are - it's the birthplace of humankind, the claims by the Rift Valley are all lies...

Very even game, both teams evenly matched in all areas. We haven't hoofed it half as much as last game. Both sides seeing plenty of the ball but neither side creating anything with it.

Odd goal will win it.

Been the poorest we’ve played this season in my opinion but we’ve been ok and deserve to be level.

Both shots on target have hit the net and Wozza blazed a 25 yarder just over.

Missing Manny or Monty as the midfield isn’t getting on the ball and we are getting drawn into Grimsbys long ball game too much, have had some good passages of play but too much lumping it back to Bennett on his own.

Might be worth throwing the Pontiff or Cullen on.

Great start to second half with both Ogbu and Cook having good chances just off target.

Then a goal from Ogbu to make it 2-1

Another poor goal to concede that's 5 in a row now with poor defending from balls in to the box. Not good enough

4-2 Waterfall.

Been much better this half and deserved the lead, we have hardly hoofed it at all, the soft goal we conceded made it a bit more nervous, especially as it was just after we took Green off and went 4-4-2.

Need to not concede anymore soft goals now.

Another good goal, and that's why Max Wright should play more the pace he showed there to get that ball and pass back to Hanson.

Bloody Hell, maybe this 'ear hoof ball is better than I thought, however we seem to be mixing it a little today, unlike last week.

Awful and glad I stayed away today.

Well done Grimsby. Better in all departments.

An utter embarrassment that second half, hard to be too harsh as we’ve been excellent against four teams expected to challenge but that isn’t acceptable today.

Defensive errors all over the place, the midfield which was purring against FGR was nowhere to be seen culminating in Wozza being subbed for a youth graduate to debut.

Only positive is two goals but an absolute horror show and a worrying performance after a good start to the season.

Need depth to this squad by the window shutting, two players down and we’ve lost any presence in the middle.

Reminds me of the Cheltenham horror show a couple of years back to be honest. Shameful.

Only Vale can put in a performance that was one of the best in three or four years and follow it up with that.

Enjoyed that especially second half. First half was very even with both sides cancelling each other out and neither creating much.

Second half we came out very quickly and really took the game to Vale, could easily have been 4 or 5-1 until we conceded a really sloppy goal to make it 3-2. Game went a bit flat for 10 or 15 mins then, until we finally got the 4th and the 5th made it a comfortable last 10 mins.

Cook was excellent for me especially when we were 4-3-3, I thought bringing Green off for Clifton was a mistake. Could see why he did it, two goals to the good but we conceded straight away and lost the impetus from it.

Played well though not hoofing half as much as previous games, balls down the channels, first time I have seen Macca play the ball short this season rather than aiming for Hanson every time and even our free kicks weren't just hoofs into the box for a change. More of the same please but we really need to cut out these sloppy goals we keep conceding, think our 5 previous goals conceded have all been poorly defended balls into the box.

Sounds like we showed our potential. It's great that hoof ball is an option now but we've seen how predictable it can be, so we need to blend it with the good football we tried to produce last season and it seems like we did that today. Five different scorers is great to see.

Good start to the season for us. Happy with 8 points considering the manner of them, as well as a potential League Cup run if we can beat Macclesfield who have had a decent start themselves. Two more signings going forward and we'll be more than set.

Well that went badly wrong. Two players injured and we have no quality to replace them. Four games unbeaten, 4 goals conceded, and then we fall apart. Askey better have some players on his radar.

This is an issue we had last season, every couple of months or so out of nothing we’d concede 4 or 5... the Lincoln debacles, Oldham, Stevenage, Colchester.

We need to iron it out. As Ray Williams was saying it was route one, very one dimension yet we’ve failed to learn any lessons time and time again today.

The free kick was a joke, 11 men behind the ball and he can slot it home across the ground! The second and third got done by a punt forward and after getting back in the game I could then understand conceding on the break as we go for it but a bloody corner with Legge beaten to it when he’s 6’5 or whatever he is.

Simple stuff really and we’ve really let ourselves down today at a time when the club is positive and bouncing.

Losing Monty shouldn’t turn us to a shit show like that but taking Worrall out the middle and Lloyd going in who was practically none existent was a killer.

The defence are going to make mistakes, as they are still relatively unfamiliar with Hendrie being on the left and Waterfall and Hewitt coming in. And I can accept that, however a couple of the mistakes have been piss poor. I think we'll be fine defensively, I'm not sold on Hewitt yet so would put a new LB top of the shopping list so we can get Hendrie back on his stronger side and have Hewitt as backup. I don't think we have that in the budget though. Can't see Gibson working out either.

Felt like we didn't work as hard as Grimsby today, and that was the difference. Felt that they won battles all over the park, and we seemed to wimp out of 50/50s. Really disappointing day all around.

For all the good askey will do for vale his signings have been poor.

Shame as I'm sure squad depth will stop you being a top 10 team.

John always picked a good player for us but since being at Shrewsbury and vale his recruitment hasnt been great.
