Clubs have until March 31st to sort their ground out - LOOKING AT YOU NORTH FERRIBY AND SOLIHULL MOTORS.

If not, they're GONE.

What's the news on whether they'll make the grade? This could be the only way we survive.

Well Solihull have got our old stand so they should be fine, but it's reached the point where I'm hoping NFU pick up points so our rivals can't, there's no way they're increasing their capacity enough in 2 months

Solihull MOTORS will never be gone, because they don't exist.

I'm surprised Woking have got the grade tbh, they've only got 1 stand that isn't falling to pieces.

I don't think Ferriby are even attempting to expand their place and are quite happy to drop. Not sure what Motors capacity is now they have our old stand in place. Ours will be done in time.

1. GROUND The ground must give an overall appearance and impression of being a football ground suitable for the highest Division of The National League System.

There are a few that fail on that alone.

If that is correct, North Ferriby shouldn't been promoted in the first place! Time for a fine, the Football Conference needs to toughen up.
That would be hypocrisy at its finest, at the start of the season somebody (I can't remember who) were forced to take a promotion they didn't want

100% agree with this.

How Eastwood could be refused a spot in the play-offs but Ferriby allowed to go up is beyond me.

Whooosshhhh.

Welcome to the Non-League forum.
Hahaha thanks for the welcome. Hopefully I never have to inhabit this part of the forum long term, I do like to pop in though, especially for the Tinpot thread :)

It's always been Moors hasn't it??

Have I missed a long standing joke or summat?

As an Alf, I wouldn't have thought you Pro-Eastwood DSL? I agree though that decision was ridiculous.

I am not pro Eastwood per se I just like to see local clubs be as successful as possible. And I wouldnt wish any club to suffer like Eastwood did
As do I.

Wouldn't a ground share with Il'son or Of'en have been a possibility for them DSL?

Iirc Eastwood failed to meet the 500 covered seats in no more than two seperate locations rule. They were spread over three seperate locations i think. They would have had ample time to get it right before the play offs but failed to understand the rules.

There is a specific rule that you cannot enter in to a ground share agreement in order to gain promotion I believe, though I haven't read the rules in a long time and they might have removed that.

Seems harsh to relegate/judge clubs based on ground grading. Ferriby not exactly packing the stadium out every week, expanding it would be pointless.

If it does come to auto relegation then I hope Housham and the lads finish outside the bottom 4, atleast they can go down with their heads held high.

That was a slightly different and strange situation, and it isn't hypocrisy because the issues around it are completely different.

Technically you have to apply for promotion every season - Cinderford did so, won their league, and then after the season had finished decided to withdraw their application for promotion. This introduced big problems which weren't there previously, partially due to the fact that the playoffs had already run IIRC. This caused a bunch of knock on effects when they initially rejected promotion, including pushing Evesham in to the Northern League Division 1 South! Evesham appealed to the FA and won. This meant that Cinderford did have options - go up or get thrown out (essentially relegated, though they would have to apply to the step 5 league without a guarantee of being accepted there)

To be honest it was very much a dick move from Cinderford to begin with, they shouldn't have applied if they didn't want to go up. They screwed over the whole process, caused weeks of uncertainty for a number of clubs (notably Corby, Evesham and in particular Stamford who signed a bunch of players expecting to be in the NPLPD not NPLD1S due being reprieved by Cinderford's rejection).

Ground grading is pointless. Most clubs struggle to half fill the minimum capacity required at this level.

What grading would this get? It is covered...

jurgen-vantomme-offside-football-fc-sobemai-maldegem.jpg

I know you're being facetious but that would max out at about a Grade F I believe (applicable to step 5 teams/leagues) depending on how the boundary is defined by the train. The gap under it might make it not fully enclosed and therefore down to a category H (step 6, can't play in the FA Cup).

Great knowledge tbf. Do you work for the FA?
