Sean Gregan, David Eyres, Kurt Nogan and Jonny Macken.

I used to have a soft spot for Milan too from watching Football Italia, so Paolo Maldini and Rino Gatusso as well.
David Eyres was still great to watch whilst he was playing in his forties.

Watching Swindon in the late 70s, Ray McHale, with Chris Kamara in a battling midfield!

Gills-wise it had to be the bemulleted legend that was Steve Lovell.

As others have mentioned, Football Italia was a huge part of my childhood weekends, especially the violet-shirted Fiorentina, so I give you the incomparable Gabriel Batistuta.

George Best in the 60's, John Richards(Wolves) 70's, Phil Annable, Ian Storey Moore in the 70's and David Vaughan in the 80's all Albion. World stage would be Pele, Cruyff. Present day Ronaldo.

The was something magical about that group of ridiculously gifted bad boys that played in the 1970s. The likes of Tony Currie, Stan Bowles, Frank Worthington etc, the type of player who gave a huge amount of enjoyment but wouldn't ever get a look in the modern game. I definitely had an affinity with that type of player which possibly says a lot about me. :)

For Town it would be Alan Durban, who joined Town from Derby County as assistant player/manager. The type of signing a lower league club could only dream of making these days and one that had me completely in awe of him as a boy.

At the time he signed for Town, in the old Division 3, he was a player who had won a first division championship medal only two years earlier and the previous season had played in the European Cup semi-final against Juventus.

Andy richie and tricky ricky holden

We really did have a ridiculously good attacking team in the late 80s and early 90s. Makes you wonder how we ever came to be in the state we are now

Favorite Gills players when I were a lad - Brian Yeo & Alan Wilkes.

Back then I was in awe of Utd's triumvirate of Charlton, Best & Law. Especially George.

Internationally it was Pele & Cruyff that had the star factor.

For Bradford City, Benito Carbone - the hype was next level.

International level, Thierry Henry. One of the best finishers ever.

90's kid so loved Thierry Henry, Zidane, Romario, Fat Ronaldo, Bergkamp in my childhood/teenage years.

The stuff Ronaldinho was coming out with in 04/05 though takes some beating in terms of pure spectacle and entertainment.

Hadji was good. I watched him at the 98 World Cup and I think he got voted into the team of the tournament. I also remember him at the time turning down PSG and Monaco to join which shows how we've fallen.

Tony Currie, Stan Bowles, Rodney Marsh, Alan Hudson, Charlie George.

Proper characters and just plain fun to watch.

Would probably have it all coached out of them now.
