Don't worry guys, it's not so bad down here, once you get used to the smell.

There's a lot of silly things, like limited subs, some away places not even having media resources so your commo guys have to transmit using a phone (not kidding). Don't make the same mistake we did with the kits either. And the refs... man. Imagine the worst ref you've ever had at Meadow Lane. Yeah, they're worse than that. You'll spend half the game scratching your head at some of the decisions. You'll have some games at home where the away support is in single figures.

It's not so bad though.

If you get out of this league in first season it’s brilliant any longer it’s absolutely awful and might as well give up with football.
In 90s did 10 years without missing a match.
Last year I did every home game but only managed 5 away games.lads I used go with have all given up.plying in places that don’t even have a railway station I could go on,but will be getting another season ticket cause can only support 1 team.

just to clarify i think he means get out as in get promoted - at least one ex Football league side has got out by being relegated 1st season.

Notts fan here, after an absolute steaming turd of a season we have looked certain for the chop for a very long time the only surprise is how we still have a minute chance of survival which we have long written off. 3 managers, allowing Darren Fletcher to have a say in recruitment, an egotistical chairman who even exposed himself online we have the lot and are a complete basket case.

I imagine we will be down for a while so thought I'd try and get aqauinted! What should we expect in non league? Our home and away support has been good this year all things considered we have averaged well over 6k at home and most weeks have taken healthy followings, recently we've taken 1200 to Crewe and have currently sold 1900 to Swindon on Saturday, for the run of the mill awayday we tend to average around 450 but I'd expect many more to be ticking off new grounds next year.

No qualms about being relegated the owner deserves it, the players who are very handsomely paid deserve it. Worst Notts side I've ever seen but the fans don't! Quite looking forward to ticking a few new grounds off. I've already visited Torquay, Stockport, Wrexham, Chesterfield, Barnet, Dagenham, Borehamwood and Sutton.

Well, today I'm officially moving over to here. Might as well get used to being here early.

Still cannot quite get over what Alan Hardy has done to Notts County, it was only 6 months ago one or two magpies on here were still completely deluded about him. I feel almost like I had a crystal ball. A apperant savour who was a ‘very successful businessman’ ended up losing his own company, loading Notts with more debt and played a huge part in the relegation of the club to non-league for the first time.

The biggest stain on Notts County history not be this conference stint, you’ll come back up eventually better for it, but Alan bastard Hardy being the owner and chairman.

I’m not surprised you nailed it tbh Conks, like one of your fellow Stag, you seem to predict all things Notts far better than all things Mansfield.

Funny that :shifty:

Not only that, but County suddenly deciding to change their whole footballing approach instead of tweaking it like us was a massive downfall. It's alright Hardy wanting fancy football, but do that over time, not go the polar opposite of what you were and what you were relatively successful at doing the season before.

Went from a physically strong, well organised, direct side to a weak, 'fluid', tippy tappy side (for the first section of the season at least). They were what I worried we'd veer to but we tweaked slightly in key areas rather than an overhaul.

What about

‘You were spot on, and I was completely and utterly wrong, and now I support a non-league team in huge debt that’s owned by a moronic debt laden indecent exposure twat who’s penis is accidentally on the internet’

What about???? Sorry I thought it was clear from my last post. You and Boozy Stag nailed it when it came to all things Notts, whereas you both so far have been wrong about the Stags. That’s really no surprise now is it ;)

If you want to know the latest developments at Notts County FC just check either the chairman’s twitter feed or read the hundred page thread about us on Stagsnet. Standard lol

P.S. Nobody not even eye of the beholder mystic meg you predicted relegation. In fact this season would be turned down by Hollywood movie execs as being too far fetched, unrealistic and unbelievable.
Only at Notts could this happen.

We went from being the worst example of hoof-ball last season, with a complete overhaul in the summer to playing superb (sometimes a bit too overly) tippy happy football this season. We've gone from avoiding relegation on the last day to being a few wins off the play-offs. It can be done.

You can, but you had a manager who probably suited that way of playing. They had Nolan.

You also haven't had 3 managers this season, used 40+ players and have the expectation of finishing in the automatics, potentially even winning the league, off the back of a PO season the one before where they were in the autos for most it and spending £500k on transfer fees and wages to match in the summer.

You overhauled something that wasn't working. They overhauled something that was.

Couldn’t agree more Soup Ladle. It’s a Non-League thread and only one club is in the non league next season. There really is no need. I expected one obsessed Stags fan to get in here early (he seemingly can’t resist) but didn’t expect it to be Conker.

Disappointing

Can we please be clear. Stockport County = County, Notts County = Notts!

Just to avoid confusion :)

Ah right, just the chairman demanding they play fancy football, but nobody in place to be able to do it?

Our old chairman actually did the same last season - after Cox left he appointed a guy called Micky Moore, cos he wantwd to play fancy football. Lasted a month. So yeah, three managers in a season and very, very nearly relegated. Stupid to expect players and coaches to change their ways overnight.

That is certainly correct from our viewpoints. We almost exclusively refer to ourselves as Notts , rather than County. That’s saved for fans of other clubs

Agreed, the attempt to drastically change the style of play of football was poorly done, and fair play to Lincoln for doing it well.

Re my contributions to this, I’ve done nothing wrong - I find it very interesting to see how they manage to do in the non-league, and if anybody’s got a problem you can always click the ignore button. Any sensitivity on a football forum is a sign it’s not the right place to be for the individual. It takes two to tango re Spanishstag, to be fair - those who egged him on bare some responsibility.

Those who sat back, ignored and said nothing to stop himself embarrassing himself and your club are equally responsible.
Give the guy a heads up, a quiet word, anything !!!! lol

Agree though regarding being over sensitive on a football forum is not a great combo. Water off a duck’s back is a much better approach.
